College Football Playoff prospect watch
cmichd08 replied to flagfootballcoach28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watched that game. He really didn't show a lot. We will see how he does in the next round of playoffs. Waiting to see Graham out of Michigan next. I rather have Graham over Carter at this point. -
I wasn't pleased to see how Carter played against SMU this past weekend. I want to see what Graham from Michigan can do. Maybe we can get a better picture of Carter in the next game.
-
I so agree. I would love to see a WR1 drafted but I would take the Graham out of Michigan over Carter of Penn State. Carter didn't show me much against SMU.

Last year people were saying he is too slow and can't get away from the pass rushers. Take a good look at the first two games of this year. Seems he is not afraid to tuck and scoot now. Now the rushers can't just pin their ears back because if they give him a lane he is gone.
-
Competition is always good to have. He should have never been handed the job from day one. Even as the number one draft choice. He would have benefitted from watching instead of getting beat down that first year.
-
We could move him to Right Tackle since Morton is getting older. At least Bryce could see it coming if he gets blown away by the R side edge rusher. In the 3 years he has been here. he had a decent rookie year. A bad 2nd year and this year we see he still can't contain a decent speed rusher on Bryce's blind side.

Coker is better than Mingo. I am sorry but I don't know what they saw in Mingo, or he was just an unhappy man in Carolina and wanted to get closer to home.
-
Who said we have to trade him when he isn't tradable. We can still grab a QB or take another piece we need more. I don't see us winning more than one more game with our defense as poor as it is.
-
why should they be celebrating. They should have sat Young down and let him watch for a year and learn. The management failed Young in allowing him to start the season. Should have kept Sam for his first year so he could watch and learn.

We saw it in week 3 of last year when Dalton came in due to an ankle injury and we almost beat Seattle in their own stadium. Dalton with the same group of receivers Young had put up over 300 yds in passing. Yes we can play well when we have a QB behind center who knows what they are doing.

Best and worst Performances from Saints Game
cmichd08 replied to Chad_Cota's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since I worked yesterday and didn't get to see the game. Cam I wonder where was the revamp offensive line we spent 150 million dollars on. It looked no better than the OLine we had last year. We know one thing. Even if a blitz is coming straight at Young. He can't see it and is sure as heck too slow to avoid it. -
They said that about how smart Bryce was last year and we all saw what happen to the great football IQ he had.

How the Carolina Panthers found themselves in the worst situation
cmichd08 replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Owner hired an inept college coach to run the team which was the start. Then tired to rebuild the team as the Seahawks did by using lower tier players and didn't get the same results. Then didn't take an offer to trade Burns which was a sweet heart of a deal. Can't bungle your way to the top now days. -
Will the Panthers be better than most are expecting?

We been down that road way too many times in our history. -

Preseason will let us know how well the team will do. I already said they would win 2 to 3 games more over last year. If they do that is a successful year. Any more is an outstanding year. -
Did use any excuses we plainly sucked. How many dropped balls did he put into the receivers hands last year. He had had his shares of throw aways, but it seems his catchers couldn't catch either.
-
If they had been good at their jobs the computer wouldn't have taken their job. How many times have they had to check replay to get the mark right.
-
Waiting to see what the preseason looks like. We will know by game two if he is better than last year.

Where will the wins come from? (my early predictions)
cmichd08 replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bar was set high last year with Young coming in and what did it get us. Handling the Bears the #1 pick in this years draft. If we get over 5 wins it is nothing more than gravy. -

5 wins would be a great year for this team after what happen last years. -
Panthers ranked as NFL's 2nd-worst roster
cmichd08 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
what you didn't mention did they get players that understood the 3-4 defense better than the players they lost. Since they were mostly 4-3 players. This we won't know until the season starts. -
what if he only wins 3 to 5 games. Has 3 to 5 games where we are in the game but lose at the end, improves his footwork, QBR, yards per pass, and learns to escape better than hanging on to the ball as he waits for an open receiver. Would that make you feel better or improving enough to give him another year at QB.
-
How many games or close wins would it take. 3 to 5 wins and maybe 3 to 5 close loses to say we are moving forward. To me I need to see how he works with the OC, improves on his footwork, a QBR better than 33.4%, better than a 5.5 yards per pass, and being able to get the ball out of his hands instead of trying to hang on while his receivers are trying to get open.
