That’s fair but, there are many other things involved in a total overhaul like that, basing it all on the Qb is fine for the offense but what of the defense ?
-
It’s not so much what I like about the staff it’s the huddles tendency to want heads to roll, but without a clear option in mind, I do see regression for sure, but I would say that as things stand there isn’t much to be done
-
Now that I disagree with, there’s a lot of buzzwords and superstition with this whole damaged goods thing not that I believe it’s you pushing that narrative, but it’s a vast oversimplification of a very complex situation, scheme fit, playbook mastery, and confidence all play into a QB success or failure. We would be no better off with Justin fields for sure nor Mac for that matter with our line, we are seeing the results of a QB who is far behind in development because of a bad head coach and supporting cast but he’s no further behind than a rookie would be.

I don’t know about losing the locker room and whole fan base just yet, remember that a lot of these guys were told to expect hard days early, and blame can be placed on injuries but again I do see your point, however with the limited availability of a better option our best bet really is the wait and see approach. That said the leash is getting pretty short one would think

On that we do agree, my choice would’ve been someone from the Shanahan/Kubiak tree, I feel they have the most effective system in football and it would’ve only added value to CMC and even Cam, I always thought he would thrive like John Elway in that system.
-
Who would you have picked as HC two years ago?
Star Platinum replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
My personal choice was Stefanski, I’ve always wanted a Shanahan disciple in Carolina, I feel it is the best pro system currently. -
That’s fair, however I don’t think that Sam was the first choice, if I venture a guess I would say Matt Stafford was the guy, but we were a slightly less attractive spot, so going into this offseason I think you’ll see some nice moves made, that’s what I’m hedging my bets on. But as for this season, our best move is to watch, wait, and evaluate.
-
My personal preference would be someone from the kingsbury system but I was curious who you feel makes us immediately better, that said I think you’ll need to give it one more year, that’s just my take, all in all much respect man, I know it’s a hard loss and I get how you feel I want to see us win too, but I do not think there is an easy immediate upgrade at this time

So from my earlier post you know my thoughts, I believe it’s still early to tell about the staff, and in some ways the roster, however you all seem to have some very strong feelings about the current regime so my question is, of the available coordinators in the nfl or college ranks, who would you like to see instead that we could reasonably go and get right now ? What system do you think fits our personnel? And if you do hire a new staff how far are we from the system they would likely choose to run ? These are the questions you would reasonably need to be able to answer to burn it down again, especially at this point in a live season. For my part I am still optimistic things will gradually get better, but I can be wrong and I understand if you personally disagree. Much respect thanks guys

And replace him with who ? The pool isn’t so good this year besides it’s still very early, only 1 and almost half a season in with a new gm, who would you prefer ?
-
Well okay we lost... bad oline, terrible qb play, but why new coaching staff ? That’s more a function of a gamble on Sam seemingly not working and a lack of talent on the offensive line, so what is your supposed solution? Who do you hire and what about that new staff makes you believe that it will be more effective? Does this staff get more than 2 seasons ? At what point do you draw that line ?

I realize that you feel that way and that the giants are indeed bad, but again look at the other teams we have played, we have a few very exploitable weaknesses that just aren’t quick fixes, it’s gonna take some time for sure but it’s not as bad as it seems.
-
So firstly I do not condone the way the team is playing however here are 5 things to consider to give context 1 The elephant in the room, missing three key pieces and two veteran players our game plan has been vastly altered these past games, a tough ask for many teams but especially a young and building one 2 while Sams play at times is indefensible the simple fact is that our interior line makes us an easy target, given that it was also the problem with his last line in NY shows a glaring weakness of his that may just be his personal kryptonite, and that is stunts, games and interior rush in general, unsurprising given his athleticism not being necessarily elite, the result is regression until it’s fixed 3 While the giants are a bad team, I do not think the eagles or the Vikings were as bad as we thought, and while upsetting, it should be comforting that the bucs also struggled with one of those teams, and the other will likely win today. 4 While we did perform ahead of schedule early, I doubt the panthers brass were taken completely unaware that this may not quite be our year just yet , but despite that they have been aggressive and proactive, which is a refreshing change from the old regime, besides we still don’t know who this team is just yet. 5 given our current record, it may be much easier to take another cornerstone talent at any position including QB, in the coming draft ether through trade or standing pat, thus speeding along the rebuild. All that said, there is still cause to be cautiously optimistic for the future of the team, and while a loss or close win against a bad team may sting, we are likely ok. Thanks for reading everyone

I really wish Cam still had enough in the tank for a reunion tour, but now I’m fairly sure his arm won’t allow him to come back, I would be so happy to be proven wrong but it just doesn’t look good we need to hold tight with what we have, and let things be what they will, no meaningful changes can be made on such short notice and anything we want to address will have to be an off-season project, it wouldn’t be fair to Cam or the team, to throw him in with no camp or time to learn a new playbook I feel it would be similar to when the Vikings did it to Josh Freeman, and I don’t wanna see that happen to Cam, all that said I think we will see growth later on.

You know... having been a lurker on this board since 2010, it’s really disappointing to see everyone melt down over every bad game, all the way up to the leaders here. I come here because I used to respect the love of the team, and the authentic coverage of a small market team, part of me feels you guys have started feeding the reactionary negativity just to get clicks, but I hope it’s not true. In ether case things truly aren’t so awful and I hope you guys find some balance again, I would say patience is the best policy for now, it’s still a promising start to teambuilding in my opinion.

6-4 260 not a monster especially considering Charles Johnson was 280 at 6-2 von is like 250 malik Jackson was 280 playing DE not to mention trevathan and Marshall were both a bit light at MLB both around 230 derek wolf 295 at 3-4 DE across the board a little light for a traditional 3-4 in ether case I feel we compare favorably -

You say this however our defense reminds me very much of another lighter than normal loaded at corner defense from 2015, they did okay -
Look I realize it’s a hard loss, but again we won’t know what we have untill around week 9, all our first year players are still adjusting to the system and without that you can’t honestly evaluate them, Sam included. I will say it’s kinda rough to watch this board sometimes with its wild swings, and it’s tendency to generate two clicks of people who just snipe at each other, and take antagonist positions on every issue. That all said I still feel good about where we are headed

The major problem we had with pass rush is whiffed tackles, the fact is it seems our boys are coached to first swipe the ball, and tackle with arms only never body on body to avoid penalties, that’s well and fine against an immobile QB like Brady, however Dak can move a bit to well for that
