I put this largely on Chubba, he seemed unable to do anything on the ground to back off the pass rush, and they just started t-ing off on the qbs… I feel us not having a bruiser back will be felt
-
Whatever happened to him anyways? I was a big fan of his pre game hype posts hope he’s okay…

I doubt it’s trust as much as you’d imagine it to be timing, and a limited playbook despite an admirable effort to cram study, an effort that thankfully kept pj on the sidelines who knows what would’ve happened if he saw meaningful snaps.
-
But why do you feel the need to even bring that into this thread ? It’s obviously an attempt at positivity despite a hard loss, what is gained by dragging others down who obviously aren’t interested in seeing the same opinion they could find in most every other thread today ?

I really have to ask why we have factions in the same fan base anyways it’s kinda weird -
Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Cam Newton.

Why the bowl obsession? It really is in a lot of ways the most boring game of the year for most people, fact is a nice season of Carolina football to me is more value than some imaginary trophy and for what and what then ? Bragging rights ? Over who exsacly ? No fan of another team cares, they will never acknowledge another team the way they do their own chosen team, the media will still have large market bias and the bandwagon “fans” you’ll attract will be one heck of an annoyance for a consolation prize... people on here get toxic enough as is, besides winning ten games means you do have a shot it’s really more about confidence under pressure in my opinion, now let me also say I do wanna see them win the big one, but saying that’s all that matters is an awful take. -
Tepper: Stop the Stadium from Being Overran on a Constant Basis

Oh I agree, but again as to my original point there are more ways than one to get your team where it needs to be, all I said was this tunnel visioned obsession has been done to death, and it’s in every single thread, I am beginning to think that even if we won 10 games this year and signed a vet (like Matt Ryan or something) people would still be upset because we didn’t draft them, you see ? It isn’t so much that I believe in Darnold or Teddy it’s the repetition of the same point ad nauseam. I would love to see some new ideas and talking points as to how to better the team than the old “fire everyone draft qb lt right now right now or I’ll cry” mentality -
Tepper: Stop the Stadium from Being Overran on a Constant Basis

I really don’t understand this weird obsession nfl fans always seem to have, especially this board lately with,“we have to have our own rookie or I’ll pout” I personally believe reclamation projects can work as well as a draft pick given the right guy, look at tannehill, or Palmer, or even jimmy G taking the niners to the big game, thing is there’s much more to a team than that ,and while I guess a rookie can be exciting, if you get this desperate you get josh Rosen or Justin fields. -
Checked out for the rest of the season

Boy these reactionary threads are really getting outta hand, that said I’m sorry you feel that way but as it is, there isn’t much to change to fix the team overnight, we can speculate but at the end of the day it’s no reason to be so dejected, I really feel one way or another we are a few years away, and being upset only makes you miss the good signs along the way, all that said I can’t say I blame you, it’s become clear the mods here are purposely stirring the pot to drum up post count, or at the very least for a few laughs of their own, I mean look at all the manipulative and click baiting Zod threads lately... I wish you well and I hope you don’t continue to feed all this negativity, good luck man feel better. -
Can’t be too harsh on them, the human condition thanks to our evolution causes our brains to react much more quickly and aggressively to negative or upsetting information, it’s why modern news is only ever really bad news, it’s gripping and forces audience reaction, sometimes as great as our brains are, they work against us, so I don’t like to blame others it is simply what we are
-
It’s really nice to see our tradition of high level MLB play returning here with Shaq becoming who we hoped he would be, especially after getting payed. I was also happy to see his vocal leadership and energy on display, a great feeling for sure and a nice win to compound it all.

Me too I like him a lot, to be honest with his intangibles I fully believe he will be our defenses heart for 10+ years, even if his productions don’t show it and at the end of the day you need a guy like that, regardless I respect your statement and I do hope his numbers come up.
-
That’s a fair point however, he was drafted with the expectation he be Vita Vea/Suh, if he fails well, then it was a mistake and we will still need a lineman of that type, but the thought behind that pick was a solid one
-
But his skill set tended far more to being a run stuffer, also look at the importance of vita vea for Tampa, without him the system they run doesn’t work, the same can be said of Phil Snow’s dime defense

This “analytics” conditioning is garbage

This is a very good take. -
To be fair, knee jerk rushing him into the lineup on the side of the ball not necessarily struggling would be unnecessary, I believe we need to just ride it out, and let things fall where they may.
-
Star Lotuleilei was a top 5 prospect (well worth it) before he had that heart issue crop up pre draft
-
The thing that makes me sigh is that I believe with time Brady will figure it out, just not for us and maybe not even his second try.
-
My personal bets are on Brady and perhaps Blackburn that would be sufficient I think
-
Don’t you feel like that’s a bit of a stretch ? If 4 years is your threshold for patience then you still have 2 and a half years before you’d be behind schedule on the long side of modern rebuilds
-
Here’s the problem though, we are tear two into that scheme, a new coach will likely scrap it and start over if trends are to be considered, so assuming you hire a 4-3 quarters kind of defense coach, then you have to redo the secondary again at least to some degree because of our style of corner, that means trades or draft capital, so not only are you hoping to hit on your hire, you pray they hit on what would be at least two draft classes, not ideal for a team with some promise.
-
Thats a good way to put that, my thinking is that the idea was this, if he fails we pick high and take another, if he hits we pay him and are ahead of schedule,That’s not such a bad gamble on such a high reward proposition.
