Unless there is video or audio of the crime happening or confirmed messages of DW admitting it, we will never know if he did it or not. Simply being convicted of a crime doesn't mean you did. Simply being found not guilty of a crime doesn't mean you didn't do it.

It's harder to prosecute / prove sexual assault the longer one waits to report. The longer one waits the less likely people will believe them. It also looks worse to only file a civil suit. A PERSON can deal with this how ever their heart desires. Just don't be mad when the police can't help you and no one believes you in a civil suit or public opinion. Pretty simple. If you are sexually assaulted you need to report it to police right away if you care about or want to maximize the chance of getting justice. If you wait it's going to be much harder to prove and people will be less likely to believe you. And please don't first file civil suits. Looks like a money grab. Go to police first. Then you can go the civil route. But regardless, this isn't complicated The accuser shouldn't be initially deemed a liar The accused shouldn't be initially deemed guilty. OJ was tried criminally for murder and the entire world thought from the evidence presented in court he was guilty of murder. Apples to oranges. We will never know what the truth is with Watson. Rape / sexual assault is literally one of it not the hardest things to prove. Unless one of these women have secret video / voice recording of the incident or watson himself admitting it (they don't as if they did he would be getting charged criminally), then we will never know the actual truth, regardless of what happens in court. Like most this is a he said, she said thing. I am looking at this from the sensible angle with business in mind. You can't make employment decisions on civil allegations alone. The standard of guilt needed is considerably lower than in a criminal court (who already wrongfully convicts people everyday of crimes). So christ, one can imagine the figure in civil judgements. If I am the owner or fan, I could care less about any civil suits. In 2 years Watson will be playing at an elite level and everyone will forget about this. What ever team he is on, surely wont care. For a civil case? Absolutely. AB who is in the negative limelight constantly was allowed to play during sexual assault civil case and helped TB win the title. No one cared/cares. Dude we know wha the NFL will do. First off, losing a civil case or settling out of court doesn't make the accusations true. Hell, even people found guilty of criminal charges have been later found to have been innocent. Worst case is watson loses and or settles out of court (pays money) and the NFL suspends him for some games or at worst 1 season. AB had sexual civil cases against him recently and played and helped the Bucs win a title.

So OJ didn't pay out any money for losing that case? As mentioned the standards for guilt are much lower in civil cases vs criminal. I wouldn't make any employment decisions on civil cases due to that. The panthers have the info that no criminal charges have been filed and are or should be aware of innocent until proven guilty. For elite players, teams bend the rules and are way more flexible with regards to character issues. As if I am an owner or a fan, I am just trying to win. I don't chore boys. So long as they have a clean criminal record and or did their time for past transgressions, I am good.

personally id think he was guilty, but id hate to set a precedence of making employment decisions on civil suits that have a much lower level standards for losing decisions.

For something serious ie criminal, i'd imagine the best course of action would be to make a player inactive until they can resolve their legal issues. Most of the people who watch fball are men. Men know these women filling civil suits about sexual misconduct are mostly groupies who are looking for a payday. There is nothing to risk here. There is no such thing as convictions from civil suits. Either you win a civil suit, or you lose a civil suit, or you settle it without it going to the judge/jury etc. I am precisely coming at this from a business standpoint. No one cares about civil cases. If it had any real legs it would be criminal. Civil cases are just people trying to make some money off of rich people. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why would I not want Watson? He hasnt been charged much less convicted of anything. As far as I am concerned he is innocent of any of these accusations until proven otherwise in a court of law.
