We are of like mind on this.... The timing ect, cap gymnastics might be exactly what we are doing since Dundon gave the green light to spend and go for a title this year... Combined with the heavy offer we made on Thatchuck it has a look to it that says 3 d chess with the cap.

I'd honestly say it sets us up for a perfect playoffs scenario, if we can swing the Kane deal (which I've heard we are pushing hard for and now we know why. That lineup could vary. I can see Necas, Jarvis or KK at 2c or 3c..... I honestly see it as Patches/Aho/Kane Svech/Jarvis/Turbo Kase/KK/Necas Drury/Staal/Fast Martinook If we can swing Kane we will have a monster for the playoffs.

That's my thoughts exactly six months is optimistic (depending on the grade of the tear) but this could very well have been something the Canes knew about and anticipated.... Bright side is the potential to LTIR him get Kane and potentially have him for the playoffs.....The announcement was closely worded it didn't say he tore his achilles today, Just that he was having surgery, it kind of implies it was at least a partial tear when he was acquired (and our push to stack the team in a Tampa esque manner make more sense.... I don't think we try Khadri but I do see us offering a good package for Kane.

How well do you dig on the internet at the start of FA? Not trying to be crass here but there were rumors on several NHL betting websites that were at almost exactly the same time.. and with both it was on espn within hours. The more recent tweets are just regurgitation of week old numbers and rumors.... lol I bet it's abby labar

I addressed that with an edit as you posted.... the previous "leaks" didn't have much time if any until it was on espn.... And both were already rumor..... If it's true it's sketchy that they deleted it so fast.

We've had serious offers In for several other game changers, I imagine Chicago will eat 50% of the hit it just depends on what you throw at them he's a rental on the last year of his deal.

It would be a rental and would hurt if Necas becomes what I think he can..... That said.... In a second. Immediately would give the Canes firepower equality with teams like the Oilers/Avs/Leafs/Lightning. One of my all time favorites as well, I haven't seen a link that we are interested but given we've kicked the wheels and made serious offers on several other superstars it's hard to believe the Canes won't make an offer.... The offseason we have had is very clearly an all in for a title one.
