  1. I think the other exception is any team playing Tom Brady is allowed to blast the opposing QB.... (Yes he had Remmers at LT but the 2020 SB they let the Bucs go ham on PM).
  2. Its a circle IMO NFL defenses are compensating by getting lighter and smaller... Interior push and containment... The Titans are an example of going back to power running to run rough shod over defenses cued to stop the high octane passing teams.
  3. I think Johnny Manziel is a more accurate *current* preseason comparison.... crap accuracy slower guy running agaist vanilla defenses. (Willis has the work ethic and potential to be far more long term IMO though).
  4. I'll agree and disagree, the outliers on both offense and defense skew those stats.... As a whole it's my opinion that the increase in points and yards are more directly linked to the NFLs rule changes and desire to favor offense to bring in more casual fans with bigger plays.
  5. You are playing yourself repeatedly. The list of preseason stars who have success can probably be counted on your fingers. Last preseason TMJ was a superstar and Jamar Chase was a huge bust.... Preseason doesn't mean squat.
  6. Yet that innovation generally doesn't last long.... or work unless you have a ridiculously stacked offense. NFL rule changes had more to do with it in my opinion... those offenses were unstoppable after the recent enforcement changes.... and yet elite defenses have already adapted.
  7. Willis hasn't proven a thing, he's playing back yard football in the preseason and has displayed horrible accuracy and an inability to get past his first read before taking off agaist defenses that are calling baby butter plays with no gamelan. You take way too much stock in the preseason. Not a chance this is the huddle.... Ickeys a bust Corral is either the savior whose been railroaded or a bust.... *sarcasm* Knee jerk reactions.
  8. Neat trick offenses that work in college because power teams completely outclass others have all have a very short shelf life in the NFL.... The RPO, the Wildcat Spread ect all cute vogue wrinkles that have stuck around in college because of talent disparity... They don't work long term in the NFL... It's one of the big reasons QBs and OTs have had such a harder transition.
  9. You are proving my point, this thread is about two things projected win totals and Vegas season start super bowl "odds". In 2015 Vegas odds had the Panthers winning 8 games.... (We won 15). The highest projected win totals for the Panthers.... 9.5 (2004) and 11 (2016) Tell me again how they are always spot on?
  10. I swear it's the people who just watch the game drunk on Sundays.... and only notice splash plays... While not understanding the game on more than a surface level.
  11. It was 8.... Won 15... Your statement is completely incorrect..... 272 games this upcoming season.... Even accounting for the .5 lines they are leaving out SEVENTY TWO wins with the current line.... Vegas is all about betting lines and heard fan opinion...
  12. Health.... (Several key guys) If YGM developes as a pass rusher. (3rd year) O-Line continuity. (I don't think LB or DT depth is the issue some do) In my opinion if the cards I listed all fall into place we will be a playoff team.
  13. They would be lucky to win two games if Corral had managed to remain healthy and start.
  14. This is no surprise.... even last seasons Baker would be the fourth best QB to every were a Panthers uniform... Newton Delhomme Beuerlein Mayfield Its nice to have a QB with fire again.
  15. The Human condition.... The knee jerk stuff both ways can be annoying but if you have posted here a decade or more like a lot here have its silly to complain about it... It should be expected.
  16. The line is certainly at 7... just an FYI. I'll add this how many wins did vegas have us for in 2015?
  17. Don't think so that would be me and WOW! Heels fans anyways.
  18. I don't think it ends well for them either way, That contract to a guy whose never won a playoff game and has admitted he doesn't do much weekly film study and now letting him call all the second half plays? I don't see that ending well.
  19. Vs pre season defenses that's a judgment I'd reserve for when the games count.
  20. I'd agree with that and if they did it would be a 5 year deal max... he's there #1 RB and their QB shelf life at the 30 wall hits.
  21. One can hope, House of the Dragon was pretty damn good tonight.
  22. 99% of tackles experience growing pains as rookies... We just have a lot of young posters now who don't understand that.
  23. That's one thing I can say I've enjoyed the past two seasons.... Snow is all about press man... and we spent a lot of capital getting the CBs to play it.
  24. I'm in the minority as well thinking Baker is a good QB, (Proven not just what if like Sammy Ghosts) the Browns constant coaching round robbin did him no favors.
