Bryce's situation reminds me of Rivera in 2012. Rivera should have been fired after the 2012 season, but he fired off some wins and got to keep his job. Bryce should have entered the offseason with no guarantee that he was going to be the starter and we bring in competition. Instead he "played well" and got to keep his job with no competition brought in. I do not understand why they thought Dalton would be good enough. Dalton should have been let go and we should have brought in someone younger with at least a smidge of potential. Even if that was a late round pick.

No he won’t. Young has no ability to play QB in the NFL well.

What does that have to do with anything? Even if we had a burner Bryce would not be able to throw to him reliably. They ran it on 3rd and 10 because Canales does not trust Bryce. Bryce is not an NFL QB and never should have been drafted 1st overall. He was at best a 6th or 7th rounder.

What happened with everyone saying this draft was QB stacked and now I see everyone saying no one is worth a first round pick.

You could probably write a book on how Bryce fooled NFL scouts into thinking a barely 5’10” person with a very weak arm could be an NFL QB.

Outside of the first drive Bryce Young could do nothing last week. So I am not surprised the defense shitting the bed has shown what the offense really is.

Our offense is primed to let this mediocre secondary look elite.

Feel like I have heard that before. Then Bryce somehow makes that pass D look good. We’ve seen it before.

He can throw downfield but it is very inaccurate or badly thrown. But Bryce has way more issues than if he can or cannot throw downfield.

These last 2 years what makes you think that matters? We all know the offense is limited with shorty behind center.

Super excited for this season. Had a good off-season and I just have a feeling.

Him crashing out at the end made this win worth it. All he can do is act like a child.

I believe it. Bryce had to do very little this game. It pretty much was the perfect Bryce game.

Bryce played well in that he didn’t make any mistakes. He was still unimpressive and you can’t expect the defense to play that well every week. Bryce pretty much didn’t have to do anything special. He still isn’t the long term option. But this game proves if the defense plays well enough we can win with him being a game manager. Doesn’t change my view that we need another QB for competition no matter where we finish in the draft.

Grow up dude. Take a breath.

Offense is still not good. Defense won this game. Can't rely on that every week. Against a playoff team this team is still getting nutpunched.

Pretty much an example of the type of game we have to play with Bryce as our QB. Excellent defense and an offense that doesn't make mistakes. That said, I have never seen an offense that makes everything look so difficult.

Reminds me of Rhule in 2020 saying that win against Washington was culture building but we dropped from 3rd to 9th. I also blame Rivera for coaching like an idiot and not benching that horrible QB they had earlier.

Tua is 4 inches taller than Bryce. How is he undersized?

No because Baker and Darnold have actual normal QB traits.

Yet you will STILL get people who think Wilks would have been a good coach despite overwhelming proof interim HC success rarely translate into success once becoming the full time HC.

Steve Wilks won us some games but was also the coach during some horrible losses. I’ll never forgive him for the horrible coaching job during the second Bucs games. 14-0 lead and he blew it and didn’t adjust when Brady kept tossing bombs to Mike Evans. So can we STOP bring up Wilks like he was gonna be good. More than likely he would have been one and done. Just like Reich. His type of coaching doesn’t win Super Bowls anymore. He would have been a great coach in the 90s to early 2000s.
