I believe you but wow it was worse than I thought. Watched his pro day and so many short passes. It was almost like they were scared to show his long ball off. Every single pass was short to intermediate. They even did a screen play. Hilarious.

Well this feels familiar. A team alienating a cornerstone player and signing an inferior player. Maybe it’s just me.
-
I feel like I am in the twilight zone with this team or Groundhog Day. We get rid of Bridgewater only to be some of the teams to potentially get the other Bridgewater. This team.
-
And Jimmy can? Sure he made it to a Super Bowl and another NFC Championship. But context matters and Jimmy was on the perfect team to make up for his deficiencies. He was also the reason the lost both those games. He comes here it is 2020 all over again. Because I don’t think our defense or run game is gonna become as elite as that 2019 49ers team was. They won so many game because of that vicious running attack and Jimmy didn’t need to do nothing. 75 yards 2019 NFC Championship game. But teams see where he has been and think he was the reason the 49ers got there. NFL front offices are freaking stupid.
-
There is no way the FO doesn’t see that getting Jimmy is literally setting the team back 2 years to when we had Bridgewater. I am hoping the FO has learned and won’t do something stupid.
-
Yikes that is bad. Shows how much he was carried by his team.
-
At least that rules out us, thank god, because we have no picks to offer except our 6th pick and it is worth way more than Jimmy Checkdown.

Falcons burned a bridge. Are trying to trade Matty Water.

I was gonna put a little sarcastic quip about the Panthers but I decide it has been said before and everyone knows the Panthers did the same thing. -

LoL, they deserve whatever happens. Doing that to a player that has been a cornerstone of your franchise. SMH. -
What I meant by that statement was because of that game teams looked at Foles differently and thought he was a franchise QB suddenly despite being a back up for years and, like you said, caught lightning in a bottle. His regression started the year after, he wasn’t nearly as good the season after the Super Bowl as he was during that magical stretch. Then he was given a big contract by the Jags and he got injured, came back and played very poorly Yes, he was amazing during that Super Bowl run, but teams saw a Super Bowl and thought he turned a corner and was now an elite QB. Instead of looking at the perfect situation Foles was in.

He was carried to the Super Bowl and lost it because of him. He was carried last year and lost it because of him He threw 75 total yards in the 2019 NFC Championship. He was carried by his defense and running game. I will continue to trash Jimmy because he gets credit for stuff that he isn’t responsible for. If Bridgewater had of been on that 2019 with that defense and running game he would have made the Super Bowl. He is another Foles and on any other team he would be terrible. Just like Foles.

I feel like if we get Jimmy G we are right back to where we were 2 years ago with Bridgewater. Can the front office not see that? Yes he was in the Super Bowl and almost a second last year. But context matters, they weren’t in either situation because of Jimmy G and they lost both because of him. Front Offices needs to take of their blinders and realize that maybe the success of a team is because of the team and not because of the person under center. That is how we got Bridgewater. Because the office thought it was because of him the Saints went 5-0 with him and not because the defense played their best games during that 5 game stretch. Other than the Bucs game Bridgewaters stats were pretty meh.

None of these moves matter without our franchise QB

I think Minshew has more than proven he doesn’t have it. He will be good for a few games, like any good backup, and then regress. I wouldn’t mind Minshew to replace PJ but as a potential starter I don’t really think he is the answer. -
David Newton's "cryptic" comment got me to thinkin

If we get Pickett I will support him. If we get Willis I will support him. I was impressed with Picketts combine. I think he can be very good. The potential is there. You could also apply your logic to many franchise QBs including Burrow. He was nothing till that one year with LSU then he shot up to 1st overall pick. Many people thought he was good because of his situation. Turned out he is just a really good QB. I am willing to give give Pickett the benefit of the doubt. He will be way better than Darnold so that is a mega positive. -

What if you’re wrong? -
Sounds like, from a lot of you, if we fix the O-line through free agency you guys just want us to move down and roll with Darnold in 2022. Since no one wants Pickett or Willis. I doubt the Panthers will be making a play for Jimmy G(Which would be stupid) and it has already been reported we aren’t interested in Mayfield. These are a lot of one year deals though which makes me think we will be making a play for someone. Even though the QB market is now very thin.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)

It sure as hell is. -

Do I trust Rhule to develop him. No. Do I trust whatever new coach we get. That remains to be seen. -
We’ll see what happens. Darnold is still our QB and Rhule is still our coach. Those will continue to be a cancer for this team.
-
They better hope their front office is really good at signing free agents and drafting players out of the first round for the next 3 years.

I mean QB. I said behind center.
