David Tepper is keen on Will Levis
TLGPanthersFan replied to Chris Smitty's topic in Carolina Panthers
FIFY. Tepper wanted Fields, Hubert and Burrow. All have turned out okay. -
Top 10 offense and top 10 defense that 1996 Panthers team had. Doesn’t matter if the Cowboys were favored then. It is not the same when they are favored now. So stop comparing the two. This team offense and defense is in the 20s. We have no chance to beat the Cowboys, a team that beat the Eagles and is averaging 30 points a game. Top 10 offense and defense. Wilks wants to run the ball. No gonna be able to do that only against the Cowboys. They are a Super Bowl contender. But you keep believing, foolishly, that this team has a chance to do anything in the playoffs. I’ll keep living in reality.

That 1996 team was 12-4. 12-4. Do NOT compare this team to that team. The 1996 team deserved to be in the playoff and beat the Cowboys. This team is only potentially in the playoffs because the division is poo.

Hackett wasn’t a good OC and his only good year was with Aaron Rodgers. -

I cannot believe the Saints and Bucs want to keep their HC. Both of them were terrible coaches before and they are the reason their team sucks. Especially with Bowles and the Bucs. -
Because no coach has ever been given a 2 year deal. Probably because they would not take it. Wilks would be told to win now or be fired. Pretty much if he flames out next season he likely won't be retained. Dennis Allen got a 3 year deal and I expect, at a minimum Wilks would want that. Year one: Establish his team. Year Two: See improvement and possibly be in contention for a playoff spot. Year Three: Be a contender.

Only Panthers fans would be wanting to return to a coaching style we fired 3 years ago.

This teams is in the playoffs? Also this team is gonna get its ass whipped. Cowboys will not let us run in them and Diggs wants some more interceptions from Darnold. Making the playoffs is pointless.
-
Interim coaches have about as bad as a record as college coaches if they are retained. Almost all never made the playoffs after being retained or none have ever made the Super Bowl. It is not abnormal for an interim coach to do what Wilks is doing but it is normal for Wilks to fail if he is retained. If Wilks falls on his face next season I will be laughing and shaking my head while the coach we should have hired has more success. Panthers need a new direction not a return to a conservative defensive head coach. I don’t care if we make the playoffs. Wilks should NEVER be retained. Also Wilks won’t be fired he will just not be hired as HC.
-
Not necessarily. People need to realize it doesn’t matter how well Wilks does. Tepper doesn’t care. He knows what he wants and will go after him. Wilks has a low chance of being out next head coach even if we make the playoffs.

Wish we could play bad run defenses every week. Not gonna happen in the playoffs. -

Yet when we do it we lose 5 yards and probably fumble. -

QB will work itself out. Coach will work itself out. Gonna try to enjoy this game. Getting a victory would make for a good beginning going into Christmas. -
To any fan going out today to support this team I salute you.

Flailing? Daboll has done all he can. Without his coaching the Giants would not be where they are right now. Given credit where it is deserved.

I’d add the Bucs as well. Arians leaving and the offense falling off a cliff is 100 percent on Bowles and Leftwich. I wouldn’t blame Brady if he said “No Thanks” to coming back if Bowles returns. Saints and Bucs HC hires are still incredibly confusing. Two coaches who failed miserably at there old HC jobs and you give them the reins to your team? Hilarious.
-
I don’t blame Brady if he wants to leave. That operation in Tampa have been a complete crap-show. Bowles is such a bad HC.

Best thing to do is ignore them. Because eventually they just go away. -

We have no idea how involved he will be. I'd like to be hopeful that he will have an actual search committee do the majority of the leg work. Not just him and Fitterer searching for a HC.
