QBR is a crap stat. Just look at his stats through those games and they are incredibly unimpressive and that Saints game was absolutely the worst crap I have ever seen behind center. I know you are not saying we should go with Darnold but there are better options if we don’t draft QB this year. Also we are gonna have to sell the farm no matter what we do and we have no idea how these QBs will turn out. Panthers have failed to tank every year they were supposed to because winning now is apparently more important then getting a future franchise QB. Constantly pushing the QB problem into the next draft just puts us into continuous QB purgatory. Panthers are causing the need to move up because even when they suck. They don’t suck enough to get a high enough draft pick. So we can wait till next year but likely we will have to pay a ton to get a QB then too. Because Panthers have proven they don’t want to suck enough to get a QB without paying big. TLDR: Panthers will never suck enough to get a franchise QB without having to pay up the A$$.

Then next year the same people will be saying we should wait until NEXT year. It is a vicious cycle. But I bet people were saying we should wait till 2012 draft when we drafted Cam Newton in 2011.

Ya know I am beginning to think the people who said we should have kept Rhule until we secured our draft pick instead of firing him as soon as we did may of had a point in hindsight. Panthers are gonna need to just bite the bullet no matter the price or, as some said, trade down, get another first round pick and go all in for a QB no matter where we draft next year. Whenever we draft a QB it is gonna hurt financially for a while. But hopefully pays off in the long term. This division is ripe for the taking if we can solve our QB problem.

Wilks fans are like a cold. Annoying as hell but eventually they will go away when they are either banned or realize constantly complaining their mediocre coach not get a job is just completely pointless. Difference between us and them. I wouldn’t have continued complaining if Wilks won the job. I would hope for the best. Wilks fans need to get over it and move on.

Agree to disagree. Darnold is trash. Don’t my want his ass on my team anymore. Hopefully Reich and co is smart enough not to have anything to do with him. Which I think they are. Darnold has shown nothing since he has been in the league. I don’t understand why any Panthers fan wants him back. But we do like mediocrity and going back to stuff that doesn’t work. So I am not surprised people seem to think Darnold will STILL work out despite 5 years showing he won’t.

Darnolds problems aren’t his ability. It is mental. He has a backup mentality. Meaning he is good for a few games and then falls off. Like the Saints game. There is no fixing that and I do not think Reich wants a player as bad as Darnold, he wants to start fresh. People need to realize Darnold isn’t a starting NFL QB and he never will be.

I would have gone with McAdoo. Guy has already shown he can drive a tank. Still annoyed Wilks cost us 7 spots in the draft and now we are gonna have to pay up the butt to get a QB or go with ANOTHER retread QB.

Makes me wonder what would have happened if we hired Demario Ryan? Really the only defensive coach I liked as HC potential. Probably people would say Wilks and Ryan are the same coach so why hire Ryan? Despite Ryan obviously being the better candidate.

Unfortunately leader of men has been the most common reason I have see on social media as to why he should be our HC. Also that he went 6-6. All I saw in the Steelers and Bucs game is a coach that hasn’t learned anything since his time in Arizona. If I am an interim fighting for my job I am NOT staying in my comfort zone no matter how much it hurts. Wilks was coaching exactly how he would if he was our full time HC. Conservative and playing not to lose. Had enough of that from 2002 - 2019. 17 years is long enough. Need to try something different.

I was genuinely getting excited during the Tampa game and I would have been fine with Wilks if we won and made the playoffs. But that entire collapse is the main reason I got continually frustrated with Rivera when he was here. After is I was never gonna be happy with Wilks as coach.

Plus Wilks was probably gonna being in Holcomb as DC. Kinda had enough of “buddy hiring”.

For interim HC to be successful? No it isn’t. A lot of interim HC have pretty good success when give the job after the firing.

Okay, no duh, I am talking about AFTER the tag is removed. It isn’t abnormal for an interim HC to do well. It is abnormal for an interim HC made full time HC to do well. Wilks has a better chance to be the rule not the exception and considering how defensive HC fair in the modern NFL I would take the rule 9 times outta 10. Safe bet.
