The fact another retread HC is leading the poll is depressing.

I would not be surprised. It really is the perfect landing spot for Johnson.

Defensive wunderkind maybe. But he would still have to find an OC to develop Bryce and will the defense still be good if he is made the HC? Quinn is a good DC but strangely all his years with the Falcons his defenses were straight ass, even the Super Bowl year. The main thing for whoever is the HC is to convince the hiring staff that he has a plan for Bryce. Because if not we could be having another one and done HC.

There is being positive and then there is whatever you are smoking.

Reich was one of the reason we were so bad. You don’t keep a coach that goes 2-15. Nothing would have changed in 2024 and yes, it could be much, much worse.

Is it the same thing as a firing? Meaning, if a team wants to hire him they will have to trade for him?

I get that but he reminds me too much of Rivera-type of coach. He also only had 2 seasons out of 6 with 10 or more wins. The other four were nine or less. Sounds a lot like Rivera to me. He just doesn’t impress me has a HC. But he does see like the perfect coach for the Patriots. Nice and boring.

Wouldn’t there be some protections if that happened? No way the NFL would allow a team to keep a first round pick traded if the asset you traded for retired.

I love Brian Burns but he would be amazing if we have a Julius Peppers opposite him. He just isn’t the main event.

Well, as of right now, it is looking 2022 bad.

Problem is the QB pool looks significantly weaker than this year. THIS was the year we should have tanked and we couldn't even do that right.

I would seriously consider a QB at 33 if one if there.

But will Slowik scheme work with Bryce? Main thing I would be thinking as a potential offensive HC is will I be able to make an offense to get the most out of Bryce? Reich failed to adjust his offense, stubbornly. Bryce run offense is gonna be something completely different compared to a Stroud led offense.

I think Reich would have been a better coach if he had a player to fit his scheme. Reich's scheme obviously works with a QB that is more prototypical, which Stroud is. Reich just wasn't willing to make an offense to suit Bryce and got fired for it.
