The way the team has been playing do you really think Matt is gonna suddenly become a good NFL coach? Most coaches in year 2 show improvement. Fox went 7-9 in his first year and then Super Bowl. Rivera went 7-9 in his second year and then 12-4 his third. Showing improvement all 3 years. Rhule has been regressing and most of the blame for how the team is rest solely at his feet. I just don’t think another year will prove Rhule is the coach of the future. The team has avoided “rebuilding” like the plague from the moves they have made.

Even with how bad out O-line is I expected some improvement, not regression, from this team.

I know some people think that Rhule is guaranteed another season but that Schiano lost the Bucs and coached like he was still in college. Just like Rhule. Guy only lasted 2 seasons.

This is the NFL not college. Rhule won't be given as much time as you think. If he comes back next year and we don't make the playoffs he will be fired. NFL can't have rebuilds that take years and years you will lose money and fan interest. Which is a already happening. Tepper is a billionaire, and not the first to fire a coach who was obviously not working out not long into his contract. When it comes down to it firing Rhule is his decision and I feel like Rhule's seat is very hot right now.

A 7 year contract means nothing. He was a program builder in college which is completely different from NFL. Doesn't mean he will last 7 years or even 3. Coaches have been fired after one when it is obvious it isn't work out. But from you posts I can see you are an immature child. So I am ignoring you because I honestly can't take your stupidity.

People also forget Rivera was going to be fired in 2012 before he ripped of 4 straight wins in December and then was one the hot seat again when we started 1-3 in 2013 before going on a 7 game win streak. Rhule hasn't been getting any better and, in fact, the team seems to be regressing week after week.

College isn’t the NFL. Rebuilds cannot years. Rhule is a terrible coach. But you keep living in that fantasy of yours.

I agree if I had to pick McCarthy or Rhule I’d always pick McCarthy in hindsight.

I hate the fact that nothing is gonna happen. Rhule will still be here and his entire pathetic coaching staff. I also hate that we play the Falcons next because they will make Rhule look competent since the only teams he seems to be able to coach well against is the Cardinals and the Falcons.

Stafford is just old and beat up. Doubt he last more than a couple of season with the Rams. Lions did a lot of damage to him.

Their needs to be major turnover in the coach staff this year and Rhule needs to enter 2022 on the hot seat no matter how the season ends. Maybe this is the beginning of a magical 2022 run like in 2013.

Sounds like he is good at building teams but terrible at coaching them. In college he always struggled against better coaching and competition. Both at Temple and at Baylor. I struggled to see what he did at college to deserved an NFL job when he was hired and I am really wondering right now. I feel like this team may be in a situation where we will be ready to be contenders and until we get a better coaching staff we will be held back. So what I am saying is I agree with what you are saying. I am not seeing the improvement from the coaching staff I was hoping from the coaching staff.

I just don’t care. After last week it became very obvious that our coaching staff isn’t good enough and our defense has very large holes, especially in the middle of the field. People say wait till year 3, Rhule is always good in year 3, is superstitious nonsense similar to people believing we will always make the playoffs in odd years with Rivera. I hope we win, but I believe this is another wasted year…again.

This team desperately needs veteran leadership. You don’ really realize how important Thomas Davis was the defense and Greg Olsen was to the offense. This team is a bunch of young guys with no leadership and it shows.
