  1. Unless Sam lied about the pain, then I believe that it’s more than indictment on PJ.
  2. PJ must really suck for them to not put him out there as a replacement
  3. Maybe this is to give Sam a friend he can trust???
  4. Here is the original story. https://www.nfl.com/news/matt-rhule-on-why-panthers-didn-t-pick-qb-in-draft-i-just-believe-in-sam-darnold
  5. Especially the one where Snow said that Sam was like Matt Stafford. It just makes me wonder why the defensive coordinator is making the suggestions for the next quarterback and why is Matt Rhule listening to him. I would imagine that it would be the offensive coordinator that would make the suggestion to the head coach.
  6. This is the first one that came up in a Google search. I am sure that there are others, but it does provide some quotes where Snow saw Sam and told Matt to check him out. https://biblesport.com/mlb/matt-rhule-on-why-panthers-didnt-pick-qb-in-draft-i-just-believe-in-sam-darnold/
  7. This is why the NFL claims to be an entertainment company and not a sport. They do not guarantee fairness and as a entertainment company they can modify things just like the WWE would.
  8. It would be very typical of what the Panthers do. They took care of the Card’s last year and I imagine that they will have a plan of attack based on that game.
  9. Maybe they were just trying to exorcise his demons?
  10. Bi-polar Extreme happiness because the Panthers can learn from this experience. Followed by deep depression because they have to start over again. I like Rhule just fine, but I think that they need to get more experienced coaches on the staff and need to take away some of the talent evaluation responsibilities.
  11. This should go long way to teaching Rhule that he may not be able to coach everyone up. Sometimes people are just who they are. It may work in college when players are more raw, but not as much in the NFL. I said in another thread and I’ll say it again I bet that from Monday to Saturday Sam Darnold says, does and knows what they do, but on Sundays during the game all that just hits the fan.
  12. Actually, it could be the Social media monitoring team and their in house Data Scientists. They possibly could…Gather sentiment from multiple social media source API’s, screen scrapes(text analytics). Write some Python scripts and set up some Kafka streams to feed it into their data science database of choice(Mongo, Hive or whatever the flavor of the month is). Write additional Python scripts to analyze the sentiments into classification buckets and display it in a nice and pretty dashboard that the UX designer and stakeholder (Tepper or his assistant?) approved. Tepper wants to get a pulse of the fan base? Opens the app or internal site page and sees what is trending based on his custom algorithms. Maybe??
  13. I bet you’re gonna be added to his ignore list.
  14. I am not sure who they will play. PJ may provide a spark, but what if he is worse than Sam? Here is the problem, they are still close to .500 and they will still play the person that gives them the best chance to win. If Sam is not truly injured then I am afraid that they will still play him. There will be a thought all week going through the coaches head of, “Who gives us the best chance to win?” Sam must be doing something throughout the week that makes them feel that he is their best option. When game day comes Sam just reverts back to some stupid reactionary state where he makes bad decisions in key situations. It is a Catch 22.
  15. The funny thing is it was Phil Snow that said that Matt Rhule should look at Sam. I think going forward it probably would be a good idea if the defensive coordinator was not the one that was making suggestions on which quarterback should be the QB of this team.
  16. The only way that Matt and Scott are safe on that call is if it were David Tepper that ask them to get rid of Teddy. I remember that there was a lot of bad sentiment from the fans at the end of last year with Teddy’s poor play.
  17. The Panthers should not have listened to Marty Hurney who thought that they just needed to find serviceable quarterback and build from there. All that does is get them to average which is what they are now.
  18. That’s why I’m scared that they are going to have to go all in on a quarterback such as Watson in order to give Rhule a chance to succeed. I’m concerned with the cost of that kind of transaction and is it in the best interest of the Panthers to pursue that.
  19. I’m right there with you. I won’t ride Sam’s ass too much because I know that even though he sucks he could be a better version of himself with a better offensive line. However with this level of play that he’s at, I don’t believe that he can recover from it and the reputation that he’s built for himself.
  20. We could’ve kept Teddy. although, I was in agreement at the time that I didn’t particularly care for him.
