  1. Would like to take a left tackle such as Neal, Ekwonu or Cross. However, knowing the Panthers they will probably take Jermaine Johnson… Why? Because they haven’t said a darn thing about taking a edge rusher.
  2. Should have been the location all along. It is closer to Charlotte, but still in SC. There is plenty of land to develop in and is close to the interstate. Carowinds is in close proximity and could be included in any pitch for a larger entertainment presence that would include Tepperville.
  3. Charlotte by itself could claim to be larger than their number if they wanted a broader reach. The issue that Nielsen has is if Charlotte were to include additional counties and cities it would be cannibalizing other smaller media markets. This works for large cities such as New York, LA, Chicago, and Houston where they can actually encompass other media markets as their own with their broadcasts. If the Raleigh/Durham area had their own team, then it would reduce the size of the Panthers NFL market. This is somewhat similar to the Pennsylvania NFL media market where they have both the Steelers and the Eagles.
  4. You are correct. The NFL media market is not the same as the local Charlotte media market. In fact it is larger and our current market is in the top ten in the NFL. All of the other NFL media markets already have teams and a few are saturated with two teams in their markets. Doubtful that he would move unless it is international out to a smaller market. Also in regards to the idea or belief that he is not going to pay. He will pay and 10 days ago has offered to pay the entire cost upfront with Rock Hill paying him back. This seems to me that he is just considering his options and waiting to see if something else happens that makes the deal sweeter.
  5. I think it’s his ego that prevents him from accepting that role. Maybe in his mind it would mean that perhaps he isn’t a between the tackles running back if he accepted that.
  6. “Some people want to quarterback that is this tall”
  7. Yeah, I love Neal the most, but there is this recurring thought in my mind that keeps reflecting back to Jeff Otah. There is nothing there to suggest that they are similar other than stature.
  8. I think that the most mean and nasty person available would be Penning. I don’t see him going at #6, but if the Panthers wanted to trade back and focus on a downhill running style offense he may be a good fit.
  9. I know . The thing is I don’t hate nor love Matt. I am mostly indifferent and think that he is a coach that is growing into the role rather than be qualified for it in the first place. Tepper has visions of him eventually becoming Chuck Knoll, but never said how long that would take… Still, I was just making an observation.
  10. Wow, take it easy. I was just making an observation from one shot they had while Malik was throwing the ball. I didn’t mean to personally upset you there buddy.
  11. If the Panthers are creating a smokescreen that means that they cannot pick up a free agent quarterback before the draft in order to sell it. If they got Evan Neal I think I’ll be over the moon.
  12. Such a Lions thing to do. You know this whole thing could just be a smoke screen by the Panthers. If they can get one of the guys in the top five to take Willis or Pickett then one of the tackles falls to them.
  13. Oh wowDaniel Jeremiah has the Panthers taking Evan Neal at six!
  14. LOL, I just gotta do it not that I really believe it, but just the opportunity alone I’m gonna give you this gif.
  15. I think that he and Kenny Pickett both look good in the pro days. That said I would prefer to take a left tackle in the draft this year.
  16. Willis was going in passing and Matt was just looking down, wiping his head like he wanted to go to sleep.
  17. Lol, Matt Rhule looks uninterested and unimpressed
  18. I think that the entire Minshew option can be summed up in one statement. If you think that he is gonna take you to the promised land then you get him. If he’s not gonna take the Panthers to the Super Bowl then don’t do it. I don’t understand the concept of getting a middling quarterback when the Panthers already have one.
  19. I watched the entire combine a few weeks ago and saw all of the quarterbacks. While the combine does not show game day mechanics it does demonstrate basic abilities. Riddler had good touch, but not a strong arm. He was fairly accurate at the mid and shallow range passes. He also led the receivers well when anticipating breaks. Pickett seems to have good accuracy and a decent, but accurate deep ball. He doesn’t have quite the arm that the others have, but he did not any passes that the receivers had to wait for. Strong was not as good in the accuracy department, but had the strongest (no pun intended) arm. Willis was so so on accuracy, but had a really strong arm for his size. He almost matched Strong as far as how far he could throw it. Howell had a big arm and can really sling it. However his accuracy was all over the place. He seems to lack touch on the short stuff and throw with the same intensity as he would on a deep pass. Even on the deep throws he can certainly get the ball near the receiver, but it seemed that they needed to chase it more. For me it comes down to which type of quarterback would be the most valuable on game day. How often are the Panthers going to need someone that can throw a 60 yard pass versus one that is accurate at shallow to mid range. They also need to be able to throw a fair deep ball that hits the receiver in stride. For me it comes down to two QB’s. I am not an advocate for drafting either one of them, but if the Panthers were to draft either Riddler, or Pickett, then I would understand why.
