  1. I think that the entire Minshew option can be summed up in one statement. If you think that he is gonna take you to the promised land then you get him. If he’s not gonna take the Panthers to the Super Bowl then don’t do it. I don’t understand the concept of getting a middling quarterback when the Panthers already have one.
  2. I watched the entire combine a few weeks ago and saw all of the quarterbacks. While the combine does not show game day mechanics it does demonstrate basic abilities. Riddler had good touch, but not a strong arm. He was fairly accurate at the mid and shallow range passes. He also led the receivers well when anticipating breaks. Pickett seems to have good accuracy and a decent, but accurate deep ball. He doesn’t have quite the arm that the others have, but he did not any passes that the receivers had to wait for. Strong was not as good in the accuracy department, but had the strongest (no pun intended) arm. Willis was so so on accuracy, but had a really strong arm for his size. He almost matched Strong as far as how far he could throw it. Howell had a big arm and can really sling it. However his accuracy was all over the place. He seems to lack touch on the short stuff and throw with the same intensity as he would on a deep pass. Even on the deep throws he can certainly get the ball near the receiver, but it seemed that they needed to chase it more. For me it comes down to which type of quarterback would be the most valuable on game day. How often are the Panthers going to need someone that can throw a 60 yard pass versus one that is accurate at shallow to mid range. They also need to be able to throw a fair deep ball that hits the receiver in stride. For me it comes down to two QB’s. I am not an advocate for drafting either one of them, but if the Panthers were to draft either Riddler, or Pickett, then I would understand why.
  3. I am afraid that it may be Pickett if they don’t trade back…
  4. Fitty, make it so! This would be one heck of a consolation prize.
  5. Who is the guy that we can get that will dominate the NFC?
  6. Cleveland was in pure desperation mode once they burned that bridge with Baker. I still can’t believe it’s fully guaranteed all years!
  7. I was right in the thread the other day when I said this has nothing to do with location and that this is about the contract. This is just DeShawn negotiating with his agent in terms of his next deal.I knew it
  8. Matt Rhule’s first year should’ve been the rebuild year. That is when the smart move would have been to tear everything down. Even if they lost all of their games it would have been fine because that’s what everyone expected. frankly I blame Marty Hurney in trying to salvage what they had on the roster back in and win as many games as they could. In retrospect after Matt Rhule’s first season I came to the conclusion that Marty was just trying to save his job by winning a large number of games. I believe that his motivation was to show that he could remain the general manager in a sustainable and progressive capacity.
  9. Yes and in 2010 we had a decent offensive line and backfield. Even the defense wasn’t all that terrible. The basic core of the team back then was there. The Panthers were mostly missing the biggest piece which was quarterback.
  10. I’m not gonna lie when I read your comments I hear Rivera’s voice in my head.
  11. (i.e. night life) The Panthers will not get a quality QB unless they draft a top prospect in the 2023 draft.
  12. Well Cleveland, Seattle and Philly were told no first. I guess that it is good that we are not the runner up. That team will be the most used rag of all. So let’s hope that is the Saints.
  13. If The Panthers are going to do something stupid they should just stay with Sam Darnold.
  14. Are you going to hold and check Big Tep?
  15. i’m guessing the Texans wanna go with the Panthers offer. By delaying it they’re hoping that maybe the Panthers will pull out all the race. If they pull out, then It will be down to just the Falcons and whomever else. If the Panthers are in it the Texans will be forced to take a smaller offer and something that may be the Falcons can afford. So what the Panthers have to do is just hold tight and don’t do a damn thing.
  16. If the transaction were to happen I imagine the team will be somewhat similar to that of the Colts under Dungy where they had a high powered offense and a very plain defense.
  17. What is the theinkisdry is just Big Tep giving us the scoop?
  18. Lol imagine if they don’t get Watson. What a dysfunctional team that will be next year with a quarterback as tenured as he is being disrespected like that. It’s going to be kind of hard to look Management in the eye if I’m one of those players.
