Young to Miami (Trade proposal via fox)
SOJA replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce would actually be well suited for Miami's offense. I have no idea if he would be good but that's the only place I could see him succeeding outside of McVay bc he's a genius -
hopefully Oakland gets desperate
-
Maye has looked good they will win another game maybe two. I can't see us winning any more games.

we don't really have anything of value to trade. Jaycee is our best current player and he's on the last year of a rookie deal. Dionte clearly has his foot out the door and if Davante adams is only going for a third you aren't getting more than a late round pick for him on an expiring. Thielen is old and coming off injury. Chuba is in a contract year. Idk why anyone would trade for Ickey. Who else is there? You going to trade XL? The only reasonable trade chips we have our Clowney, Thielen and +/- Dionte and Bryce. I think if we traded all four we wouldn't get higher than a fourth for any of them. I'm not saying it's not a good idea to acquire assets because lord knows we need them but I think the time to do is on draft day trading down with a team desperate for a QB. My hope is the raiders fall in love with sheduer and we do to them what chicago did to us

Here's another theory I have. I don't think Tepper liked Stroud. I think he rubbed him the wrong way probably bc CJ is a confident guy who didn't have the aww jeez shucks attitude. I honestly think if we hadn't taken Bryce Tepper would had them take Richardson. the only proof I have of this is that Sheena reported we told richardson's people to look at housing in Charlotte. Why tell your third prospect that?

my working theory which fits with the timeline is (I have posted this before): When Reich took the job the plan was to trade up to 2 for Stroud. This was known in NFL circles that Carolina wanted him. See Allbright even BEFORE the trade up saying we liked stroud. Reich is hired everyone on board. Houston for whatever reason balks at Chicago's trade offers and suddenly Tepper thinks he's a big boy and why not just trade up to 1. Vegas still has the Panthers as heavy favorites to draft Stroud because again, that was the original plan. The panthers start thinking to themselves.....well now that we can draft Bryce should we? Tepper falls in love because Bryce says all the right things at dinner (he's a good kid with a good work ethic). Tepper steps in and says we have to draft Bryce. Fitterer will do anything Tepper wants because he wants to keep being GM, Reich reluctantly agrees because it's not that crazy to think he could work with Bryce. Tepper gets his way thinking he has outsmarted everyone. Flash forward to now. Also for the record I have wanted Stroud since the Rose Bowl game against Utah the year before his draft

David Tepper is the only consistent since he's been here. He has forced every decision maker to make rash trade after rash trade for a 'quick fix'. He's systematically dismantled this team and our culture here. He's a narcissistic idiot and we will never be good under him bc he's entirely too involved fug this team

Trade down for more picks esp this year
-
Rams pick still looks like it's going to be a top ten selection though. Best trade probably of this decade by Carolina
-
Wouldn't touch either of these guys in the first three rounds personally. This feels very much like the Kenny Pickett draft to me. We hype up these guys all year then come draft time the media acts shocked when teams don't want to overdraft them
-
How's life Zod? You aren't around much anymore. Thought you were just leaving to buy a pack of smokes
-
Beck might be available in the fourth round
-
Absolutely insane. The water bottles worked
-
Nico is good. He's got a fantastic arm
-
Y'all really wanted this guy at 1.1
-
Hence the "amongst other terrible decisions"
-
Woods has been solid for us too, but overall I see definite upgrades at EDGE x 2, NT, DE, NB, LB, SS, and CB 2 So basically the entire defense. My ideal lineup going into next year would be DE- Brown NT- new player DE- Robinson Edge 1 Clowney/Rookie Backup 2-3 rd round Edge 2- High draft pick Rookie LB- Wallace LB- Rookie/Jewell/Shaq CB 1- Horn CB 2- Jackson/Rookie 2nd or 3rd round pick S- rookie/FA S- Woods

My prediction in 3 years - Panthers return to their roots
SOJA replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why do you need stability at the GM and HC position? Because a GM that KNOWS he's going to be here for a few years is more willing to trade down and acquire future assets (see Rams trade last year). We desperately need that. A GM that feels like the owner is liable to fire him any second burns through assets and resources like there is no tomorrow because the future doesn't matter. -
I see your point but over-drafting and reaching at positions of need has landed us where we are today amongst other terrible decisions
-
In a trade down scenario or in the second round yes. But as a top 3 pick? He doesn't look like that to me. I'm not saying he won't be a good QB but if you have a top 3 pick you have to take a difference maker unless you are trading out of the spot

Here's the thing: there's absolutely no guarantee that works. What this team needs above all else is talent and stability. You can't get talent if you keep going "all in" on bandaid fixes. You can't have stability if you keep turning over the entire front office and coaching staff. -
I truly don't think Deion would let Shedeur play for us. He feels like a Raider all the way
-
He was actually really good last year, hasn't played as well this year but I wouldn't say he's been bad. This feels like they needed a scapegoat or he was desperate to get out and they couldn't find a trade partner.

In what strange parallel dimension is LB our biggest need
SOJA replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's my hope. This year doesn't look great for QBs. I really hope they just wait until 2026 to draft a rookie. Our team has so many holes on it that drafting a rookie here wouldn't be beneficial to them anyway
