Pick #39, don't hold your breath for a WR or TE
SOJA replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sheena also mentioned this OP which makes me believe they are seriously considering LB and CB at 39 -
Darnell Washington visiting the panthers
SOJA replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he is there at 39 I can't think of a better pick outside of a stud edge rusher. He would perfectly fit the offense and timeline. He has the potential to be the best TE in a loaded TE class -
Is Bryce a #1 prospect if he didn’t go to Bama?
SOJA replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
idk man I watched every Sam game. He did not progress well in his last season. Our o line did him no favors but he made some terrible decisions. I was surprised he fell to the fifth but watching him he had no business being talked about in the first round. -

got to be honest, besides Gibbs Bama had a really down year last year in terms of talent. That elevates Bryce even more in my eyes. He kinda was the team last year -
Alright I'm starting to change my tune. I actually believe they like Young. Which again, I'm totally fine with. I have Stroud as 1a and Young as 1b. There are a ton of things to like about Young and I think he has a chance to be special if he can stay on the field.

this made me lol

ah yes. the good ole days when someone on this site told me I was a "fuging idiot" because I wanted Cam over Gabbert. Good times.
-
Also yall can believe whatever the fug you want. But there is no way in fuging hell. absolutely no chance that the Panthers traded DJ Moore and all that draft capital without a specific guy in mind that they wanted at 1. Tepper isn't signing off on that bullshit to be like "we actually don't know who we like we haven't spoken at all. Franch who?" Cmon yall

This makes the most sense. Here is what we factually know at this point. Houston tried to trade up to 1. Chicago preferred Carolina's deal. Chicago tried to get Houston to still trade up to 1, so that they could then trade again with Carolina and move from 2 to 9. Houston balked when finding out Chicago was close to trading with Carolina (this one is important) Carolina trades up to 1. Billy Marshall loses his fuging mind on twitter Bryce Young goes from the betting favorite to go 1 overall, to flipping to Stroud -300 Reports are that Carolina likes Stroud Fast forward Now every major media outlet is saying "well actually Carolina likes Young" Now reports that "Houston is fine not taking a QB" ***** Yall can think whatever you want but all the tea leaves point to the fact that we like Stroud, Houston likes Young and the Panthers are trying very hard to get Houston to do something stupid and trade up one spot

Dane Brugler's 2023 Draft Guide a.k.a. "The Beast"

congratulations on discovering pirating. If you're an adult with a paying job though it would be nice to support Dane for his absolute fug ton of work he puts into this -
Albert Breer's insights on the Panthers and other Top 10 teams
SOJA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
yea for all intents and purposes #33 is a first round pick for me, plus Houston would be real dumb to give up their first next year. There's potential they could be picking top 5 again. I mean I'd take it in a heartbeat -
classic David Newton post

man yall gotta see this one I just did lmao ; in this insane scenario we wind up with two firsts next year ; a 4th; two 5ths and a 7th

Albert Breer's insights on the Panthers and other Top 10 teams
SOJA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
that's exactly my point. They want to recoup some assets. Hence the ton of reports that we love Young. We're trying to get Houston to trade up. Meanwhile Houston is now playing the "actually not sure if we want a QB" card when we all fuging know they want a QB bad, their team was fuging awful last year -

Also from the article the whole bit about them trying to trade up to 1 LMAO -

I still maintain the Panthers really like both Stroud and Young and are really trying to get the Texans to trade up one spot. My evidence is the fug ton of reports coming out that we like Young AND the new reports that "Houston may be ok passing on a QB" They're both trying to smokescreen each other. I'm fine with either Stroud or Young personally, though I give a slight edge to Stroud. But you can bet your ass if Houston offered me #33 overall or their first next year I'd be more than happy to take their sloppy seconds at 2 -

can't remember who but someone on this website tried to argue with me the Texans don't want Bryce. Why would the Texans trade to 1 if they were happy w/ two dudes. They want Bryce -
Dane Brugler's 2023 Draft Guide a.k.a. "The Beast"
SOJA replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am a huge Mays fan and can I take this opportunity to add. I absolutely love that his main running mate now is Nate Tice. They are fantastic together and such a joy to listen to. I've followed Mays since Grantland and I can not express how much better Nate Tice is than fuging Kevin fuging Clark. It was impossible to listen to his podcast because it was just Kevin constantly interrupting Mays to criticize or belittle his take. -
Dane Brugler's 2023 Draft Guide a.k.a. "The Beast"
SOJA replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I say this every year, but if you enjoy draft coverage I highly encourage purchasing a subscription to the Athletic for the beast alone. It is so comprehensive, it's the closet things fans will get to an actual NFL draft book. It is accessible to both casual and hard core fans. It's great when we draft a random lineman from Arkansas in the fourth round, while the huddle is losing their fuging mind you can pop into the draft guide and see that Dane had him ranked as a 2nd to 3rd round talent, with elite athleticism and upside. Then you can hit your cigar and laugh like a cartoonish villain while still shitposting on the huddle -
excellent write up OP Ill be honest i had not done a lot of digging on that Miami CB but will have to look into him more Tyler Scott is a guy I really would love in round 3

BJ Ojulari is scheduled to visit the #Panthers
SOJA replied to CAPantherFan's topic in Carolina Panthers
OLB or edge I agree. I don't think they view MLB highly enough to take one at 39 unless there is an absolute stud there that should have been a top fifteen pick -
I think that was in the hope Chicago couldn't find a trade partner back. Once Indy and LV got in on it there was no other choice but to go to 1
