Mac Jones is a less athletic Andy Dalton who played with arguably the greatest offensive weapons in college football history with a stout o-line. People say that LSU offense was transcendent, well that's because Burrow could sling the rock. Jones basically played with an offense full of first rounders not to mention the Heisman winner at W fuging R of all positions. No to Mac Jones before the 4th round and at that point you're just drafting Will Grier.

...but ...but ..but the Huddle assured me there was no way all top 4 QBs were gone by 8 and that win against WFT didn't really matter!

I trust this man fwiw

Remember how we fired Rivera, we handled it with class, and it was great. No bridges burned. We did Cam not much better than we did Smitty or Josh.
-
Again for the umpteenth time it's OK to move on from Cam (not what I would have done but whatever) You move on from the guy who was your franchise and consisently CARRIED you very differently from a single tweet saying "thanks #1" like he was a WR who caught a big third down from us in 2018.
-
Which part are you referring to because rhule saying he was excited to roll with cam and the released with a single picture is literally how it happened? I know there is more to the story, i.e. things Cam did that haven't/might never come out, but Cam carried this franchise FOR YEARS. And from the Panthers twitter account you would have thought he was an average special teamer.

Todd McShay is CONVINCED we will move on from Teddy

And if we don't get Deshaun you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a LOT of talks between the Panthers and Jets/Dolphins. If the Dolphins don't get Deshaun I could see them doing a deal of 3 for 8 plus other stuff. They would likely still get the same player at 8 they wanted at 3 tbh. -
admittedly I haven't really been on twitter for like a day (which is like missing an entire decade of news cycle apparently) but a quick glance shows like there is some drama between Sheena and John Ellis. Wtf is going on lol Also this is 100% not fuging suprising. Many of us last year blasted the franchise for how they handled Cam's release. The Panthers handled firing Rivera with class and respect. Cam got lied to, cut and released with a picture. That isn't how you release your franchise. I'm going to be so fuging mad all over again if that prevents us from getting Watson

Let's say you are Deshaun Watson, bias aside, where do you want to go?
SOJA replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Either MIA or SF Bears seem like a good choice but they are a low key wonky franchise that seems to mishandle some of their stars. I just despise Denver so much I can not be rational about them, to me I think they're overrated -
Deshaun WATSON Officially Requests Trade from Texans
SOJA replied to ncstatekwi's topic in Carolina Panthers
Where is the dude who told me a few days ago on here that Watson wouldn't request to be traded lol -
This would be my worst case scenario as we would likely end up....right back in the same place next offseason

Mac Jones reminds me of a less athletic Andy Dalton Hard pass

Probably because they are offering their first rounder. Good for them. Let's all pray we don't get into a bidding war.

But the Huddle assured me there was no way 4 QBs could be taken by our pick

If the Panthers land Stafford, it is win now, not rebuild

if we draft Mac fuging Jones at 8 I'm out -

As I have stated in multiple threads Stafford is pretty much my last choice for QB next year. However, not drafting 3rd overall really puts us in a bind with potentially 4 QBs going before our pick. My ideal scenario si that we stay at 8 and Lance falls to us, however that doesn't seem likely. Trading for Watson is my top choice and my next top choice is trading up for Wilson/Fields/Lance Further if you're going to disagree with my OP that's fine but all I did was unburden us of Teddy's contract and give up a third and future fourth rounder. That's hardly mortgaging our future. -
NO TO WATSON, NO TO STAFFORD.... YOU WIN THROUGH THE DRAFT
SOJA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
this is the exact reply I was going to make lol -
You mean because we can't re-sign them? I agree Stafford only makes sense if the price is right AND they agree to take Teddy B to mentor whoever they draft at 7

you don't need to sell me that Teddy was bad lol, but LT must be addressed -
What's that bear doing

SOJA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The question is, is Stafford good enough to win a Superbowl. He is. But that would be contingent on us having an offensive line that is good enough to keep him upright. Our weapons aren't the issue (For like the first time in history since the Smitty/Moose days). Which is why it would be imperative to retain 8 overall. To draft our future LT. I can't sign off on a Stafford trade that includes number 8 because it would be devoting too many resources to him and also depleting Stafford of his best chance to win here. -

Here is a relatively quick way to "win now" with Stafford. It would be contingent on us tradding Teddy plus no more than a second rounder this year, ideally a third (which likely won't happen at all but fug it let's play") Stafford for Teddy and 3rd/future 4th round pick FA Re-sign Moton Wait on Curtis Samuel to test FA (I think a lot of WR#1 money is going to dry up) the Panthers might still be able to re-sign him. Esp if Samuel wants to hit FA again in a few seasons. A two year deal like Robby signed might just work Cut KK/Weatherly Re-sign one of the guards from this year, whichever is cheaper. Offer Okung a one year prove it deal, take it or leave it. Draft 1- Rashawn Slater or Sewell (one will likely be there at our pick and both appear to be future franchise LTs) 2- BPA out of CB/OG 4- BPA out of CB/OG/UT BPA rest of the way Depending on how the draft goes sign a veteran CB after to a one year prove it deal Start Jermaine Carter next to Shaq. Stafford comes into a loaded offense. Defense will be improved. Profit. -
One can hope because they are literally stuck with Matt Ryan (barring a trade- seriously look up his contract the dead money is absolutely insane) for the next two seasons at minimum. I can buy this argument. I'm preparing myself for them to take a QB because that would be bad for the Panthers but I can see a scenario where they try to run it back with Matt Ryan for a few more years before resetting entirely.
