Alright tried to do an actual semi realistic mock and I really think this is the type of guys they are targeting/the trade they are looking for:

I mean when you watch college football Bryce was clearly the best player in it last year. Yes that even includes Caleb Williams. He is a stud in terms of ball placement, pocket prescence and awareness. He apparently carries himself like a leader. I'm excited.

I think an argument could be made that no team needs the number one overall pick more than the Hornets (not that they DESERVE the number one pick) but every other top team at least has a path to relevancy outside the number one pick/recent historic greatness that being said the NBA fuged us out of AD so this would be an excellent consolation prize. Further with MJ selling the team .... if the draft is rigged now is the time to gift the Hornets a prize

If he is there at 39 I can't think of a better pick outside of a stud edge rusher. He would perfectly fit the offense and timeline. He has the potential to be the best TE in a loaded TE class

idk man I watched every Sam game. He did not progress well in his last season. Our o line did him no favors but he made some terrible decisions. I was surprised he fell to the fifth but watching him he had no business being talked about in the first round.

got to be honest, besides Gibbs Bama had a really down year last year in terms of talent. That elevates Bryce even more in my eyes. He kinda was the team last year

Alright I'm starting to change my tune. I actually believe they like Young. Which again, I'm totally fine with. I have Stroud as 1a and Young as 1b. There are a ton of things to like about Young and I think he has a chance to be special if he can stay on the field.
