yea unfortunatley we really needed those wins against Philly and Minn to be in a good position moving forward imo
-
Official my god how have we sunk so low Panthers at Falcons thread
SOJA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
tough gritty win. Basically exactly what we needed against Philly and Minn. Not even counting the Giants game because they honestly kicked our ass -
Whatever you think of him as a player I hope he's alright

If Darnold is out multiple weeks what’s our options (Don’t say Cam)

He was looking kind of dumb with his finger and his thumb in the shape of an L on his forehead
-
first half wasn't too bad, second half Ojulari ate his lunch like every single play
-
this all of this. it made no sense to cut cam when we did, you either have cam newton or the perfect excuse to tank and move on amicably at the end of his deal instead we've gone with teddy and darnold two of the worst starting qbs in the league
-
it was a weird play but DJ usually loves YAC so I'm thinking he tripped or was falling and decided to go down and protect himself

Tepp if you're reading this I want you to know that I haven't missed a game in 20 years! Things are bad right now, but trading for Watson with the allegations pending against him, and mortgaging our future to do it would make me seriously consider my fandom. Love, GastricBeerpass

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
SOJA replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Today. don't care who your QB is, we lost to a bad giants team that was really hamstrung. The worst part is they outcoached us today. Jason fuging Garrett made us look lost on defense. -
I think so, who realistically are we beating on our schedule if we can't beat a hamstrung Giants squad
-
very happy with Marshall so far. He is far and away from one of the worst parts of our offense. Hell he hasn't even been the worst WR we have
-
PJ walker is barely a serviceable backup. It would be idiotic to play him. Give Sam the full season we're already committed. This is coming from the biggest "we should have taken Fields" person on here

If Cam Erving is out Brady Christensen will finally start at LT (hype)
SOJA replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been screaming we should be playing Irving (a very decent guard and actually a really good center) at the interior all summer long -
How extensively will the offense need to be rebuilt this off-season?
SOJA replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea but we can't feasibly replace every single lineman in one offseason. Paradis would be average with better talent around him but I agree a rookie at C should be looked at -

Here is how I fix the Panthers in one offseason: One) Sign Terron Armstead this offseason. IDC what it costs. Sign him to a ridiculous three year deal. Two a) Explore but don't break the bank for Rodgers/Wilson. I would not do anything wild but if a Stafford like deal was there pull the trigger. I'm excluding Watson for obvious reasons but should he be cleared of any legal wrongdoing I would explore that as well. Two b) Draft Corral or Malik Willis. Three) Trade Sam Darnold to the Broncos for a fourth rounder. (TBH I'm just willing this into existence) Four) With every remaining draft pick draft OG. Five) Convert Christensen to Guard fulltime. New O-line Armstead-Christensen-Paradis-Rookie/Daley/Brown-Moton -
Maybe I shouldn't have hired the dude just because he wears sweatpants

If your hopes and dreams for this class were pinned on Deonte Brown I have some bad news for you my friend

If we lose to a Vikings team without Thielen and Jefferson it's time to just turn in for the season

It will

Alright I'll spoil it for you guys/gals: 1st Quarter- Panthers receive kick. They execute a nice little drive that ultimately stalls out at the 25. Zane Gonzales hits the kick. 3-0 Panthers. Defense gets an excellent stop and sacks Kirk Cousins. We come back on a short field and Darnolds hits Robby Anderson for a touchdown on a wide open double move. Panthers 10-0 Huddle is rejoicing. Chuck makes a new account just to join the game thread. 2nd Quarter- Minn threatens but ultimately a costly turnover nets them 0 points. The panthers move the ball well, but an untimely holding penalty costs Hubbard a huge run. Two drives net in another Zane Gonzales FG. Panthers 13-0. Despite only having 54 total yards the entire half, Minn executes the 2 min drill perfectly and steal a FG right as the clock expires. Panthers 13-3. Somehow, no one seems particularly worried the panthers should be up 21+ points right now. The huddle takes halftime off to discuss the finer points of mRNA vaccines. 3rd Quarter- Zod has already proclaimed that the Panthers are winning the Superbowl and Terrell McClain will be the superbowl MVP. Minn comes out guns blazing and leaves our defense flat footed on an easy touchdown. Panthers 13-10. Sam Darnold gets sacked to end consecutive drives. The defense holds strong but ultimately gives up a FG. Tied 13-13. Darnold, now trying to get the mojo back from the first half, forces a ball to Moore which turns into a pick 6 by Patrick Peterson (still exorcising BoA demons from that Arizona NFC championship game). Minn 20-13. The huddle game chat goes nuclear, there is at least three different posts correlating vaccine mandates to the Panthers sudden downturn from 3-0. 4th Quarter. A sack fumble from Darnold turns into three points for Minn. Minn 23-13. Panthers respond and have a good drive, that is again, hamstringed by penalties. Ultimately Rhule punts on 4-2 from the Vikings 43. The punt nets 18 yards as it rolls in the endzone off the foot of *insert name here of new punter*. The defense pulls a rabbit out of there ass and makes Kirk Cousins really like that by getting a crushing INT. The o line summons their darkest energy and somehow puts together a competent drive. It ends in a FG however despite being 4th and goal from the three. Minn 23-16. With two minutes left the defense forces Minn off the field. The Panthers drive starts with a dart to DJ Moore, who absorbs contact from a MAC truck but somehow stays upright, and gains 20 yards. The Huddle gets their hopes up. Sam throws an ill advised pick to Robby in double coverage on the next play. Vikings win.

exactly why I've been yelling to start Irving at LG, he's actually a decent guard

great fuging question Joe! That is not sarcasm.
