my general hope for the panthers is pretty much at an all time low right now

Go ahead, admit it. Huddle confessionals.

I was 100% correct that taking Justin Fields was the right choice even with Sam on the roster -
WE DEMAND ANSWERS

Fields should have always been the goal. Keep Teddy and draft Fields. If Fields doesn't fall then you trade for Sam and then trade Teddy. even with the idiotic trade for Sam YOU STILL DRAFT FIELDS. Who cares if you have two QBs, best case scenario you have two franchise guys and sell one for a mass of picks. Worst case is that likely one is decent. Most likely case is one pans out. We picked the wrong one and it isn't a hindsight decision, so many of us saw this coming.

Teddy B I’m sorry, it wasn’t all your fault!
SOJA replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly we would be in a worst spot with Teddy because we still wouldn't be good enough to compete but also he might have won us a couple more games thus decreasing our chances of a top 5 pick -
So are we allowed to use the T word and focus on the draft?
SOJA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes, again not overly impressed. Think he's a late 1st/2nd round talent. would not take him in the top 5 -

Did you watch VT and GT? -

In general this is why you have to find a QB that can create on their own or don't complete fold under pressure. It is RARE to have an O-line in the NFL that is stout enough to not allow pressure during a game. Cam was a super human at this. He made HORRID o lines for years look serviceable. Hell the couple seasons he had a decent one we either went to the playoffs or nearly won the Superbowl -

Yea Howell behind this line would look much like what he has at UNC this year, very up and down -
going to have to build this offense through the draft and smart FA signings but everyone outside of 2, 11, 88, 22, 82 and 72 pretty much needs to go That's a LOT of missing pieces.

I'm a UNC fan but i'm not super sold on Howell. He throws a pretty ball but I worry just like Darnold about his processing. UNC's offense is a far cry from what he'll be asked to do in the NFL. Also he's going to get himself killed in the league running like he does in college -

With no second or third rounder this team needs to pray a team like the 9ers gets desperate and trades up because right now we look like were headed for a top 5 pick -
We gave up three draft picks for Sam.....one of them might be the within the first five picks of the second round

One of those INTs I still maintain is the worst interception I have ever seen a QB throw. Ive seen a lot of crushing interceptions in terms of bad timing/game losing but PJ basically threw it to the Lions and no one else. To this day I'm still not sure what the actual fug was going throw his head when he released that ball.
-
I argue that the Panthers need both a QB1 and QB2 next year.
-
I'm trying to warn you guys while PJ is a great story and he seems like a good dude, he is NOT a good QB and isn't even a quality backup in the NFL. He threw one of the worst INTs I have ever seen in my life last year against the Lions. Here nearly blew the game against ATL with a terrible red zone INT. He makes Sam look like a good decision maker and Sam has throw some god awful picks this year.

Even at his age Gilmore is one of the best to ever put on a Panthers uni at CB. Jaycee looked like a stud before his injury. Donte is having his best year ever and looks like a legit starting CB. AJ Bouyee has been one of the best NBs in the league this year. I haven't even mentioned CJ Henderson and Taylor who both are young with a lot of promise. Outside of Minter and Chris Harris, I'd say Chinn is the best SS we've ever trotted out. FS is kind of meh admittedly but when have we EVER had a good FS? -
