Albert Breer: both Reich and Fitterer back in ‘24
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be clear this would not be my plan HOWEVER what GM and HC combo wants to come to the Panthers this offseason. Chicago is a vastly more appealing destination for a HC and almost every GM spot that will be open in the league will have the benefit of having a first rounder and won't be on the worst team in the league. If we make Fitty swear not to trade future picks CAR will be MUCH more appealing as a destination the year after regardless of how next season goes. -
I'm not ready to grade Bryce yet. That being said I was a Stroud guy from that Rose Bowl game when he was a sophomore and JSN went off, you could just tell he had it. My biggest issue with Bryce moving forward is that while this offense is TERRIBLE and impossible to grade a rookie in, Bryce's path to success in the NFL is narrower than imagined. I am praying he succeeds because all these hypotheticals will only drive you crazy at this point.

I'm honestly glad we didn't we can still get Tee this offseason without sacrificing draft capital. If/when Fitt and the coaching staff gets let go we need to make ourselves as appealing as possible so we don't end up with complete poo at both GM/HC

This is the worst Panthers team I've ever watched including the Clausen year. I wanted Stroud and he would have been the right pick but even he would be struggling. We need to upgrade every single position on offense besides RT and RG. Absolutely pitiful

Only way I trade Burns to the Bears is if they give us our first round pick back plus something else.

How Many of You Would Actually Want a Trade for a WR
SOJA replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
no chance, denver clearly isn't getting a deal that good offered right now or jeudy would be long gone Most I'd give up is a fifth rounder at this point -
this sucks for the league, I really liked richardson and honestly would have been happy had we drafted him. That being said it is ironic that Bryce was pegged as the injury prone one and Richardson was viewed as this tank and now he's got a bad injury.

Re-sign Burns and Luvu and Henderson Trade Chinn Donte and Marshall now Sign Tee Higgins, Stephon Gilmore, Kendrick Bourne, DJ Reader Draft Troy Franklin in second round, CB in the third round, O-line depth in later rounds Cap will be absolutely maxed but we have to go all in on Bryce's rookie contract

Calling it - the Bryce Young trade is the worst in team history
SOJA replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Think it's way too early to call this, but if he ends up being a below average QB (think it would take three seasons to determine that). Then I agree with you. I'm not giving up yet, Bryce doesn't look lost out there he just needs better protection and WR play before I believe we can judge him. That being said I was a Stroud guy from April of 2022, that's who I have always wanted so it's hard to see him doing so well -
I mean you're not wrong but also we had seen five years of middling QB play. I'm fine with the aggressiveness to secure the most important position on the team

The only hope I see: complete and total disengagement from David Tepper
SOJA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Person confirmed today my worst fear but also in a way explained a lot of things and provided some home. Tepper is an over meddling owner. We had our suspicions but up to this point I don't think anyone confirmed it. Now we know. Now we have a reason why his tenure here has been below average to god awful. It's suffocating for the HC and GM to make decisions when your owner is meddling with each one. I honestly don't know how to judge Reich and Fitterer now because it's hard to know what exactly has been Tepper vs. them. We will continue to be a poverty franchise until Tepper stops meddling entirely or sells the team. It's just so unlikely his influence will ever have a positive impact. -
You have a magic wand to fix our biggest problem.
SOJA replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Me an intellect assuming we wouldn't have like traded 7 first rounders for Tom Brady during his retirement announcement -

It has been stated that the price between 1 and 3 was not that different -

Other: we draft Justin Fields instead of Jaycee Horn. Now I know what you're saying. SOJA Fields is terrible rn. You're god damn right. But who knows how he would have looked here? Not saying he'd be amazing but well just say it's an unknown and at worst he's terrible. Here's why it's better. If we draft Fields we don't trade for Darnold and Baker. We retain our draft capital all of the years and likely still have CMC. The best part is we'd be bottoming out in an excellent year to need to draft a QB. At worst we end up w/ Caleb Williams or Drake Maye and still have CMC and all of our draft capital. -
nooooo I just moved to charlotte don't move the team now
-
credit where credit is due but Hurney was really good at scouting top end talent. It's the rest of the roster building that he was often terrible at.

Bryce I think is going to be just fine, but I was in camp draft CJ stroud

Chicago probably wouldn't give us our first back this year right ?

His illegal man downfield penalty lost us the game too lol
-
Games are rarely won or lost on one play. That being said, Ickey getting an illegal man downfield, on the opposite side of the play, in which he did not affect the play at all put us from first and goal on the ten, to first and fifteen. Next play is a run for a loss of two. Next play is sack fumble for a TD which sealed the game. That penalty was so mind numbingly stupid and literally changed the course of this game. I'm not saying we would have won, we probably still would have found a way to poo the bed but Ickey is quickly going from a sophomore slump to a negative factor weekly

I agree fully with this post. I am genuinely curious for those who believe Tepper has run this franchise into the ground. Outside of hiring Matt Rhule (Which obviously set this franchise back), what evidence to we have that Tepper has meddled with football decisions? Truly I would love to get on this bandwagon but all of the evidence we have actually points to the opposite that he's been hands off outside of wanting to get a franchise QB (which i don't think anyone can argue with the sentiment) In fact, the rumors is that Tepper wanted us to draft Fields not Horn so if anything he hasn't gotten his way. Again genuinely asking for evidence he meddles, because if so that's a huge problem.

IMO the biggest FO mistakes we've had the last few years are in order: 1- Trading for Darnold. We vastly overpaid at the time and even one year later looking what we got Baker for showed how bad we did. 2- Letting Reddick walk. There has been speculation he did not want to re-sign and really wanted to go home to Philly. Regardless it seems like we were content letting him go and using some of that money to re-sign Donte 3- Letting Gilmore walk. Still a Pro Bowl caliber player and he wanted to be here. Would much rather have him mentoring Jaycee anyway. 4- Signing Teddy Bridgewater. We were in a perfect position to just suck ass and tank for Trevor but unfortunately we had to get a semi competent player in 5- Not re-signing Brian Burns. This one could get erased but if he does somehow walk and we passed up all that draft capital it would vault to one, so for now I'm putting it on the list to monitor
