  1. Person confirmed today my worst fear but also in a way explained a lot of things and provided some home. Tepper is an over meddling owner. We had our suspicions but up to this point I don't think anyone confirmed it. Now we know. Now we have a reason why his tenure here has been below average to god awful. It's suffocating for the HC and GM to make decisions when your owner is meddling with each one. I honestly don't know how to judge Reich and Fitterer now because it's hard to know what exactly has been Tepper vs. them. We will continue to be a poverty franchise until Tepper stops meddling entirely or sells the team. It's just so unlikely his influence will ever have a positive impact.
  2. Me an intellect assuming we wouldn't have like traded 7 first rounders for Tom Brady during his retirement announcement
  3. It has been stated that the price between 1 and 3 was not that different
  4. Other: we draft Justin Fields instead of Jaycee Horn. Now I know what you're saying. SOJA Fields is terrible rn. You're god damn right. But who knows how he would have looked here? Not saying he'd be amazing but well just say it's an unknown and at worst he's terrible. Here's why it's better. If we draft Fields we don't trade for Darnold and Baker. We retain our draft capital all of the years and likely still have CMC. The best part is we'd be bottoming out in an excellent year to need to draft a QB. At worst we end up w/ Caleb Williams or Drake Maye and still have CMC and all of our draft capital.
  5. nooooo I just moved to charlotte don't move the team now
  6. credit where credit is due but Hurney was really good at scouting top end talent. It's the rest of the roster building that he was often terrible at.
  7. Bryce I think is going to be just fine, but I was in camp draft CJ stroud
  8. Chicago probably wouldn't give us our first back this year right ?
  9. His illegal man downfield penalty lost us the game too lol
  10. Games are rarely won or lost on one play. That being said, Ickey getting an illegal man downfield, on the opposite side of the play, in which he did not affect the play at all put us from first and goal on the ten, to first and fifteen. Next play is a run for a loss of two. Next play is sack fumble for a TD which sealed the game. That penalty was so mind numbingly stupid and literally changed the course of this game. I'm not saying we would have won, we probably still would have found a way to poo the bed but Ickey is quickly going from a sophomore slump to a negative factor weekly
  11. I agree fully with this post. I am genuinely curious for those who believe Tepper has run this franchise into the ground. Outside of hiring Matt Rhule (Which obviously set this franchise back), what evidence to we have that Tepper has meddled with football decisions? Truly I would love to get on this bandwagon but all of the evidence we have actually points to the opposite that he's been hands off outside of wanting to get a franchise QB (which i don't think anyone can argue with the sentiment) In fact, the rumors is that Tepper wanted us to draft Fields not Horn so if anything he hasn't gotten his way. Again genuinely asking for evidence he meddles, because if so that's a huge problem.
  12. oh I completely agree I have ranted about it so many times on this website and twitter. It truly was one of the biggest poo shows a team has ever done and set us on a terrible course
  13. IMO the biggest FO mistakes we've had the last few years are in order: 1- Trading for Darnold. We vastly overpaid at the time and even one year later looking what we got Baker for showed how bad we did. 2- Letting Reddick walk. There has been speculation he did not want to re-sign and really wanted to go home to Philly. Regardless it seems like we were content letting him go and using some of that money to re-sign Donte 3- Letting Gilmore walk. Still a Pro Bowl caliber player and he wanted to be here. Would much rather have him mentoring Jaycee anyway. 4- Signing Teddy Bridgewater. We were in a perfect position to just suck ass and tank for Trevor but unfortunately we had to get a semi competent player in 5- Not re-signing Brian Burns. This one could get erased but if he does somehow walk and we passed up all that draft capital it would vault to one, so for now I'm putting it on the list to monitor
  14. it's week 3 there is plenty of time for us to play out of a top 5 pick but that being said our offense is much much worse than I anticipated
  15. the legends were true. SCP lives.
  16. he is either a) injured or b) completely in the dog house with this new coaching staff or c) sucks because how he hasn't made this into the perfect opportunity to show he's a viable WR in this league is insane
  17. this is a really really good point. Bryce has the tools to be a very successful QB in this league. I can't believe I'm having to tell people to be patient
  18. This defense is better than I expected and I suspect we will at least be in every game. The offense just needs to be a semblance of an nfl offense and we can easily beat some of those teams on there.
  19. that's not the most insane trade I've seen. Higgins value is likely a first rounder plus some. Burns' value is established as two firsts and a third at minimum.
  20. I can not believe how negative people are being about Bryce. First off he has played two games as a rookie in his career. Second off, our WRs are terrible. Watch the film, hardly any seperation ever. The few times they do get it they either drop the ball or are so slow they get tackled immediately.
  21. even if he doesn't catch a single ball tonight he completely changes how defenses have to play against us because he is a legitimate deep threat. No more safety cheating down on the box if he's on that side of the field
  22. Hasn't OP been the one whose posted like 7 different threads with the general thought of "You really need to realize football isn't everything, I'm totally happy now"
  23. I mean you could easily say this was Drew Brees vibes as well lmao
  24. I really don't know how you could watch this game and come away discouraged (except for the WR corps) considering we are starting a rookie QB and have an entirely new coaching staff outside of O-line and ST. Oh wait I know why, because the internet and having access to media 24/7 has rotted people's brains and they expect results instantly
