wouldn't be surprised if Tepper changes Fitterer's position to something like President of Football operations, hires a new GM and states he is "stepping away". This will cause everyone to rejoice but secretly Tepper will just be doing the same old poo through Fitterer his 'yes man'
-
1- tepper selling the team 2- Adam Peters, Ben Johnson hire, with an excellent FA class including offensive lineman and multiple WRs (one who is a number one), plus a very public David Tepper admitting he is hiring a head of football operations and that he will no longer have final say in any decisions and that he is stepping away

Mike Macdonald- Meet the Candidate- Part 11 of 12

Ravens have the best defense in the NFL imo, comes from a winning organization -
Honorable Mentions- Meet the Candidate- Bonus Round

this is the under the table sneaky hire I could see, esp if we miss out on other candidates -
Honestly a case could be made we've been playing better than Jacksonville over the last three weeks. This line feels too high esp if Lawrence is hurt. If our offense plays like they did last week we win. I expect our defense to bounce back after a poor performance against GB

If we hire a defensive guy he's the best of the bunch and I honestly think Evero is second -
I think they are a below average coaching staff when before we had a coach who, I'm 60% sure, was actively sabotaging the team to prove a point

I think both brown and burns are better suited for a 3-4
-
excellent point While many fans will say "well just tag and trade him", that's easier said than done as it rarely happens in the NFL. I think the Panthers made their bed, for better or worse, when they chose not to accept the Rams offer. You turn down that deal your basically playing your hand saying well now we have to re-sign this guy. Again I don't want to debate that again bc it's come and gone now Further the only team I could realistically see trading for Burns is either Jacksonville or Baltimore. We won't trade him to a division rival like Atlanta and I don't see any other NFC team besides maybe Detroit chasing him.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tools/roster/carolina-panthers/2024/8027e022dcda29998e3468d08288a009/ I signed Tee for 25 mill, Burns for 25 mill, Frankie for 10 mill, resigned JJ Jansen and had to do other things to barely get us under the cap. Now obviously NFL teams can structure contracts better than this but whew we do not have as much cap space as I thought. Now the good news is our team is terrible and they may just go scorched earth and cut a ton of other people.
-
Just spent like 20 minutes playing with the cap on spotrac and man...it's going to be very difficult to keep Burns, Luvu and sign a high profile name like Tee Higgins. Basically re-signing Burns and Higgins is going to cost in the neighborhood of 25 mill each. This probably deserves it's own post when I have more time to really delve into it

Bryce finally looked like the prospect I watched coming out of bama yesterday. He was creative in the pocket, kept his eyes down field, and deadly accurate in high pressure situations.
-
I realize GB's defense is not good, but Bryce made a couple *Elite* throws in this game. Notably multiple to DJ Chark

I was at the stadium, surrounded by packers fans and let me tell you I was losing my mind.

This game is exactly how I thought this year would go. We'd have our bumps, struggles, lose to good teams, but generally be a competitive team against most in the league. If we had played like this all year my original prediction of us finishing 7-10 doesn't seem so crazy
-
acutally not as crazy as you think. Every year there are first rounders at the beginning of the year that fall. Further every draft only has like 15 true first round talents, everyone's list is a little different but then there's a vast swath of guys (picks 15-55) Personally I think both Coleman, Nabers and Odunze are all a clear cut better than him and Harrison is on his own planet. So in that second tier of player (15-55) you have egbuka, brian thomas jr mitchell, worth, franklin, corley, legette, and even ladd mcconkey amongst a LOT of other dudes I just haven't even watched yet. PLUS you have to factor in there's always a wildcard pick, like when the Rams took Tutu Atwell ahead of Marshall which no one saw coming. I'm just saying while it's not likely it's DEFINTELY not impossible. I may hell some people thought Star was going to be the first overall pick at this point in the calendar year

Route ...and I can not stress this enough...running

I thought zod had abandoned us in the time of our greatest need

Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes
SOJA replied to Martin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I will say this, this is the best we can hope for as fans. See my post history I've been as critical as Tepper as anyone (all of my recent posts have ended with fug tepper for example). But were stuck with him. Jed York fuged up his first few years as an owner in San Fran and now they are the best franchise in the league. We just have to pray tepper learns from his mistakes and learns to stay the f out of football operations -
Derrick Brown was the best player on the field lmao

Panthers releasing Justin Houston… what a great signing
SOJA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers

Ben Johnson- Meet the Candidate- Part 3 of 12
SOJA replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Guarantee Ben Johnson will use Carolina has leverage to get paid more at another job that he was always going to take. He's not coming here yall -
95 has played incredible this year. He single handedly gives me hope that Ickey can still pan out.
