  1. Troy Hill was one of the few bright spots on the team last year. One year deal that doesn't tie up future cap, this is a great move.
  2. It's amazing how some fans on twitter are so angry that we aren't retaining pieces from the worst team in football
  3. I like the Panthers are playing hard ball right now with him. If someone blows us away with a trade take it, otherwise resume negotiations this summer. I think 28-29 million a year is a fair deal for both sides.
  4. It is ok to have a nuaced view of Bryce Young. It's ok to either: been very excited when we drafted him OR have reservations about his size. It is still ok to be excited about his future or have reservations about his ability to succeed. but no matter how you feel you can not deny that any rookie stepping into our situation would have struggled to some degree. It was a disaster from coaching to personnel to ownership
  5. Again a valid argument could be made that outside of Moton, Thielen and Chuba the entire rest of the starting lineup on offense would be on the bench of almost every other NFL team. Thielen and Chuba likely wouldn't start for half of the teams in the league either No one should be safe on offense (besides Bryce because we have to see what we have in him next year)
  6. I have a hot take that I think Mitchell is going to be a bust. he *looks* like an NFL WR#1. But I just don't think he's got that fire in him
  7. ladd and xavier in back to back picks would be a home fuging run. It's like the only realistic scenario I'm happy with WR at both 33 and 65
  8. Ok maybe tanking isn't the right word but building the team sensibily. With young home grown talent and a few mid level smart FA deals should be our focus
  9. YES WE SHOULD BE Listen....out of all the mistakes Tepper and Co have made the single biggest one is not just taking our medicine and bottoming out properly. Instead we have tried to microwave quick fix solutions each offseason and left with something that looks like a Sci-Fi abdomination from Event Horizon. Year one of Matt Rhule was the perfect time to do this. Lawrence coming out. Cam coming off a major injury. Just fuging suck that year. Instead we sign Teddy and try to be competent. The next offseason, instead of drafting a young guy and just keeping Teddy as a mentor, we give up a sizeable draft haul for Sam fuging Darnold The next offseason instead of just sticking with Darnold we try another half measure with Baker. This offseason, well we know how going all in worked. Listen: we are going to suck next year. It's just not possible we are good. That's OK. We have our first round pick. We right now have a lot of cap room opening up next offseason. Build a competent offense around Bryce and just see what you've got but do NOT try to go all in again.
  10. gave us an entire new team yall
  11. I would bet eagles, texans and chiefs are all more likely. Hell maybe even Ravens. We already have a talented corner who can't stay healthy
  12. thanks for making me feel better CRA
  13. Oh I agree, hence why I didn't want him, just didn't see something that showed me round 1 TE talent. Funny thing is Baltimore ending up taking Mark Andrews in the third round of that draft lol
  14. Ravens drafted him round 1, biggest whiff ever by the Ravens. I was so fuging worried we were going to take him over DJ Moore that year
  15. One of my favorites I've done yet
  16. Again this is great. We are going to suck next year. Cut dead weight now, start the healing process for the future. this is what we SHOULD have done Rhule's first year. yet every year the panthers have tried to go back to the well and starting with quick fix solutions
  17. can't decide if the Panthers trade up to one (and giving up the first overall pick in the process) or the Broncos trade was worse.
  18. FWIW I would sit it out and play hardball with Burns. If he was available in this draft he would be a top 5 talent. We aren't going to get the value we should for him. I think we could get a deal done for somewhere around 28 mill per year this offseason. You keep a franchise cornerstone, he gets paid handsomely (that's more than he really should get imo) and we still have somewhat of a pass rush. If we trade him our pass rush literally drops to nothing
  19. there seems to be legitmate smoke to the rumor that he's getting traded, not only is it widely speculated but Jonathan Jones (well connected) tweeted today to not be suprised with a trade. My guess is the Rams, Houston, and Baltimore would all be interested. I would wager the compensation will be a: 1 and 4 this year and a 2 or 3 next year. I HIGHLY doubt any team would give up more than that but if there is a bidding war ultimately the Panthers could still wind up with two firsts if someone chooses to sign him to the non-exclusive tag
  20. That is a good counterpoint, while I anticipate we suck ass next year and I don't want us to throw money down the drain. Building a competent offense around Bryce is needed for two reasons 1- we have to see if Bryce is the guy 2- it will only help the next rookie we draft if he isn't This year a very legitmate argument could be made that there were only two maybe three starters worthy to start on an NFL offense. Moton, Thielen, Chuba. Can't evaluate nor bring a rookie into that anyway.
  21. I'm fine with this. Let's get out of all our bad contracts now. We're going to suck next year, just embrace it and start building towards a better future.
  22. The Washington Football team was the perfect name and remains the perfect name
  23. I am literally lol ing at you saying chucklefugs
  24. For the record i would still try like hell to sign Burns but if his guys tell you under the table he isn't re-signing longterm here then by all means trade him, don't get nothing for him
