further if Vrabel is able to bring in Arthur Smith at OC sign me up. Guy is a good offensive coordinator and there is obvious history and synergy there unlike the disaster that was this season
-
Vrabel is my number one choice for HC Johnson is 2, Slowik 3, MacDonald 4, Raheem Morris 5, Monken 6, probably Canales 7 and maybe Frank Smith 8
-
i mean dude you could have said the same thing about Hurts a few years ago but ok 1- Mahomes 2- Allen 3- Lamar 4- Burrow 5- Herbert 6- Dak 7- Stroud 8- Hurts 9- Stafford 10- Lawrence vs. Murray vs. Love vs. Tua Could easily see Bryce with an exceptional year being number 10 on that list. I'm not saying it's going to happen, it likely won't, but to say it's impossible is weird behavior for a Panthers fan

oh of course of course. I'm saying he has the *potential* to get there. Or at very minimum a consistent top 3 QB

So What Are We Doing About the Offensive Line During This Offseason?
SOJA replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think drafting someone like Jordan Morgan (OT Arizona) is not off the table, I would try to sign a guard in FA, and I think our third or fourth round pick should be a center. I *know* we desperately need help at WR and edge opposite burns but it doesn't matter what we do unless we fix this line first. Ickey not taking a step forward really really fuging sucks -
we will see but he just put together what I consider the best rookie season ever
-
I think this is the pill that's hardest to swallow. I know this board is very down on Bryce but I don't think he's as bas as this year suggests. But CJ has shown some best QB in the league type stuff this year. I think at his best Bryce could be a fringe Top 10 QB. At this best CJ may be the best QB in the league. It doesn't help that I really wanted Stroud

Who is beating us in the NFC South with Mike MacDonald at HC?
SOJA replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm all on board with MacDonald as HC, I would be interested to see his OC would be though -
I am conflicted. On the one hand it's not a shock Dan Morgan is being considered. He hasn't just been in Carolina, he's been around the block and is respected in the league and was thought to be an up and coming GM candidate. Further just because he served under a regime that failed doesn't mean he will. Brandon Beane is an obvious example of this. Finally, I think Dan knows our culture and can at least help Tepper from continuing to self sabotage things in Carolina. on the other hand I was just really looking forward to a clean start

If You Could Choose ANY Head Coach... Who?
SOJA replied to Jay Roosevelt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shanahan or McVay easy. -
Which franchises are known as the most well run?
SOJA replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Baltimore has the best case for most well run organization over the last 25 years personally. San Francisco recently in the last five years. New England had the greatest individual run anyone will ever have but they have really regressed post Brady All time in the NFL is probably Pittsburgh -
didn't realize this board was as down on Bryce as they are. Fair criticisms to be sure. Still think Bryce can be a good QB in this league. But I will continue to post till I die that I wanted Stroud since April of 2022

wouldn't be surprised if Tepper changes Fitterer's position to something like President of Football operations, hires a new GM and states he is "stepping away". This will cause everyone to rejoice but secretly Tepper will just be doing the same old poo through Fitterer his 'yes man'
-
1- tepper selling the team 2- Adam Peters, Ben Johnson hire, with an excellent FA class including offensive lineman and multiple WRs (one who is a number one), plus a very public David Tepper admitting he is hiring a head of football operations and that he will no longer have final say in any decisions and that he is stepping away

Mike Macdonald- Meet the Candidate- Part 11 of 12
SOJA replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ravens have the best defense in the NFL imo, comes from a winning organization -
Honorable Mentions- Meet the Candidate- Bonus Round
SOJA replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
this is the under the table sneaky hire I could see, esp if we miss out on other candidates -
Honestly a case could be made we've been playing better than Jacksonville over the last three weeks. This line feels too high esp if Lawrence is hurt. If our offense plays like they did last week we win. I expect our defense to bounce back after a poor performance against GB

Mike Macdonald- Meet the Candidate- Part 11 of 12
SOJA replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we hire a defensive guy he's the best of the bunch and I honestly think Evero is second -
I think they are a below average coaching staff when before we had a coach who, I'm 60% sure, was actively sabotaging the team to prove a point
-
I think both brown and burns are better suited for a 3-4
-
excellent point While many fans will say "well just tag and trade him", that's easier said than done as it rarely happens in the NFL. I think the Panthers made their bed, for better or worse, when they chose not to accept the Rams offer. You turn down that deal your basically playing your hand saying well now we have to re-sign this guy. Again I don't want to debate that again bc it's come and gone now Further the only team I could realistically see trading for Burns is either Jacksonville or Baltimore. We won't trade him to a division rival like Atlanta and I don't see any other NFC team besides maybe Detroit chasing him.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tools/roster/carolina-panthers/2024/8027e022dcda29998e3468d08288a009/ I signed Tee for 25 mill, Burns for 25 mill, Frankie for 10 mill, resigned JJ Jansen and had to do other things to barely get us under the cap. Now obviously NFL teams can structure contracts better than this but whew we do not have as much cap space as I thought. Now the good news is our team is terrible and they may just go scorched earth and cut a ton of other people.

Just spent like 20 minutes playing with the cap on spotrac and man...it's going to be very difficult to keep Burns, Luvu and sign a high profile name like Tee Higgins. Basically re-signing Burns and Higgins is going to cost in the neighborhood of 25 mill each. This probably deserves it's own post when I have more time to really delve into it
