Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1
SOJA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
My tinfoil theory is that New England tried to jump in front of us to take XL. Beane, rather than trading to a division rival, called Carolina and was like hey yall want this pick because New England is offering us something. Carolina was like year sure. XL was 28 on Bill Belichicks board. That board started getting made last season, I'm sure the Patriots final board was similar -
Austin Corbett's move to center has seemed "inevitable"

It sounds good on paper but I really think C needs to be a pick come draft day at some point -
yea lmao I was like wtf

Would you grab falling star t'vondre sweat?
SOJA replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
from a football standpoint, I actually think he is a great fit. We really need a true NT, I feel like our run game has sucked since Star left and partially because of the NT position From a character standpoint I would avoid this guy. Biggest few months of his life and he still can't stay out of trouble. I wouldn't be suprised if he is off teams draft boards. If he's there in the seventh sure go for it, otherwise let him be someone else's problem -
Albert Breer: Panthers could "hold auction" for #33 pick
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it really depends on the players available. If there is a team willing to give up a warchest to grab let's say Penix of course you consider it. But if a stud WR is there at 33 that would be hard to turn down I like to what Gantt posted this week about how historically the compensation for 33 is basically an extra fourth. IMO that isn't worth it if a guy is there you know won't be at 39 -
Why is no one considering double dip at WR?
SOJA replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would 100% be ok with taking two WRs For example if we took AD at 33 and Ladd at 39 that would be incredible or if we take XL at 39 and Javon Baker at 65 or in the fourth I'd be happy as well -
According to Legette, Panthers will draft Legette at #33

XL needs to stop talking lol, even if that is our plan quit spilling it -

🚨Tony Pauline: Panthers interested in CB Mike Sainristril @33
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
he definitely fits the profile of player I suspect Morgan will target, but 33 seems RICH for a NB -
I agree with others that this seems like the panthers are getting hosed on the trade. Keep in mind i am team trade down at either 33 or 39 but you have to get something valuable in return as most teams have: ~ 15-20 first round players ~ 25 players with a round two grade So if you fall all the way to 55 you are likely getting a guy with a third round grade

Anthony Rizzuti's realistic Panthers 7-round mock draft
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Two high bust potentials at 33 and 39 Coleman can't seperate. I love the idea of adding a true X to this offense but unfortunately outside of the top 3, AD mitchell and BTJ I don't believe there is an x worth taking at 33 or 39 I'd rather take Ladd -
PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take
SOJA replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not very high on him, his best comp is Robbie Anderson. I wouldn't take him at 33 or 39, now late second or early third is a different story. -
Center: JPJ, Zach Martin, Graham Barton (he likely won't be there at 33) WR: Ladd, AD Mitchell, Leggette (late second in trade back scenario) TE: brock bowers (again very unlikely he falls to 33 but if he did you absolutely take him no brainer) Tackle: Mims (unlikely to be at 33), Jordan Morgan, Patrick Paul, Kinsley Sumatia DE: Latu (unlikely to be at 33), Kneeland, Darius Robinson CB: Cooper DeJean DT: Johnny Newton Overall I'm very hopeful we can trade down at either 33 or 39. The only guys I'd personally rush to the podium at 33 are: Bowers, DeJean, JPJ, AD Mitchell, or Graham Barton. I'd be very happy with Ladd as well. Leggette is the hardest prospect for me to figure out. I wouldn't take him at 33 and my preference would be to take him in a trade down scenario but I've read some people hearing that he may go in the first round. I almost hope someone else takes him in the first just so we aren't left with the dilemma of taking him or not Guys I am not personally high on as I think they all have too high of bust potential: Chop Robinson, Troy Franklin, Keon Coleman, Xavier Worthy, Kamari Lassiter, Jatavion Sanders (this is my biggest please do not draft) My favorite player in this class is Rome

Dane Brugler The Beast Draft guide is out today

Dane is the best -
If we get Ladd and JPJ I'll be ectastic with no trade. If we somehow get a future second as well...my god

"The Panthers had the NFL’s most underrated offseason"
SOJA replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
both of the following can be true: we can have had a good offseason and we still might suck next year. It's all about two things: building a sustainable future (not tying up cap with bad contracts, hitting on draft picks, accumulating not burning future draft capital) AND finding out if Bryce is the guy -
He certainly has the worst draft record of any of our former GMs. It's hard to know just how much say he had in his first drafts with Rhule tho

Darin Gantt on Stephon Gilmore signing with Panthers
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gantt usually tells us what the panthers are thinking / has a directive to calm fan expectations from the FO -
Xavier Legette and Peyton Wilson 33 and 39
SOJA replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilson is a huge medical red flag. I'd rather us target BPA out of WR, OT, OG, C, DE, CB at 33 and 39 anyway. positional value matters -
Matt Miller: 1st round could have 8 WR’s
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Friendly reminder Matt Miller is a dingbat and always shits on the Panthers (even when we were good)- 48 replies
