  1. 61.3% completion rate. If you need to be walked through a weighted-average calculation just say the word. 55-38 on the TD to INT count. Talk about "revisionist history"...LOL.
  2. Is this what the "insiders" are whispering into your ear?
  3. Health issues, and ability to play the game at the highest level issues, are completely different animals. Brees had unequivocally proven he was capable of the latter before departing SD.
  4. Brees didn't "only fail" and in fact was a Pro Bowl QB at his first stop -- there was zero questions that he'd be a success at stop #2.
  5. Nonsense. Literally everyone, including me, is pulling for Sam to be a smashing success and is eager to watch it play out -- literally one of the most compelling storylines across the entire league going into the season.
  6. Oh I responded...you must have missed it. "...has there ever been a QB drafted top-3 who only failed with his initial team...was given up on and traded for a paltry round 2 pick... ...and then went on to have agreat career at his very next stop?" Favre ain't it.
  7. OK so the next Brett Favre is now in the fold... ...you heard it here first folks! {big toke from the bong of hope}
  8. Brett began his career with 3 straight winning seasons as a starting QB...there is nothing "bad" about that. Is Sam injury prone?
  9. Favre didn't play year-1... ...started 45 games next 3 years...went 26-19 Starts are what counts.
  10. Favre was 26-19 his first 3 seasons...a far cry from "not good" and "only failed". Neither Smith nor Aikman was given up on and cast aside such that they had to go play somewhere else... ...still looking.
  11. Au contraire...simply looking for a precedent, haven't found one yet. Brees, a 2nd round pick, was 30-28 overall in San Diego and was a Pro Bowl QB (65.5% COMP, 27 TD, 7 INT) his last season there (5th)...that's the opposite of "not good" and "only failed". Collins was 22-16 in his first 3 seasons (Sam was 13-25) with Carolina including a NFC Championship Game appearance in 1996...again, the opposite of "not good" and "only failed". Who/where/when? Look, I am eager to see Sam rise from the ashes like a phoenix but the cockeyed optimism for him doing so seems misplaced and harkens to Billy Mumphrey...
  12. If true, excellent point there...good onya mate! Jets are for sure FUBAR, trust me I know. OK, so let's widen the aperture... ...has there ever been a QB picked in 1st-round who was cast adrift before the end of his rookie contract... ...and... ...has gone on to be a starter and smashing success with his 2nd team? Doing so is certainly within the set of possible outcomes for Sam but just curious if there's any precedent, at all.
  13. Which ones? At age-35 Testaverde did take Jets to AFC Championship in his 1st season with the franchise but it was his 13th year in the League and stop #4 on the train ride As for Tannehill, year-8 in NFL and 2nd year with Titans...first time in 8-seasons he won more than 8-games.
  14. There was this guy named Farve. Then Vinny left the Bucs and went to the Jets and he was pretty good. There was this guy named Young with the 49ers. Jeff George was an asshole, but when he left the Colts and went to the Falcons he was pretty good. I am not even going to go back to guys like Plunkett. Then Tannehill, but everyone uses him as an example now. You must have just started watching the NFL yesterday I guess. You left out the key info: "...has there ever been a QB drafted top-3 who only failed with his initial team...was given up on and traded for a paltry round 2 pick... ...and then went on to have a great career at his very next stop?" "Favre" was a 2nd round pick and had GREAT success from the get-go so obviously not relevant. Young sat for 5-years at his 2nd stop before taking over a juggernaut...again, not relevant. Vinnie went 16-15 at stop #2 and 8-20-1 at stop #3...he did have a modicum of success at stop #4, with the NY Jets no less! George was 16-19 at stop #2 and 7-16 at stop #3. Tannehill wasn't a top-3 pick...he did finally win more than 8-games in his 8th season in the league (2nd season at stop #2). Plunkett was 11-15 at stop #2. Any other suggestions?
  15. Ah okay, thanks for the explanation. That makes at least a bit more sense. Seems counterintuitive to me... ...akin to the cushion produced by sole of a running shoe... ...said shoe produces the most cushion on day-1 and each successive run renders it less and less effective. JAT.
  16. Real Jets fans NEVER "leave"...!! It's a lifetime commitment
  17. Well the extra 2 wins are predicated on a combination of a healthy/available CMC + generally upgraded personnel due to the passing of a new year... ...so, not much.
