REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
SizzleBuzz replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ramcyzck's "fully guaranteed" money is $43 million... ...will be interesting to see if that's apples to apples with Moton. -
I believe it to be the latter... ...but I could be wrong:
-
Seems highly unlikely. Why would he sign a right-tackle contract to play left tackle?
-
It will be interesting to watch. Obviously Brady's beyond reproach in terms of his work ethic, skills, and will-to-win... ...but I'm betting on Bill to validate as well.
-
The 2017 team Marsh was on went 13-3 and advanced all the way to the Super Bowl...clearly he wasn't Patriots material. As for current situation...it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early to draw any conclusions on a Patriots post-Brady reboot... ...bet against Belichick at your own peril. He's constructive on Cam BTW: https://www.google.com/amp/s/boston.cbslocal.com/2021/06/15/bill-belichick-says-cam-newton-is-way-ahead-of-where-he-was-last-year-with-patriots-offense/%3famp

Not in the least. You're right, he didn't hold his tongue....shat in his own mess-kit there. Only lasted about 10-weeks (9 games) with Patriots and bitched his way straight off of a team that went to the Super Bowl that season -- so I stand corrected, he did do something about it! Clearly he's not Patriots material -- too weak mentally.

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton

True. Nope. That said, I do believe the best interests of the overall team/franchise are always the first consideration. Does the business you work for allow you to set your own pay level? Agreed. Again, agreed. When I was in grad school Warren Buffet came and spoke to our value-investing class. He had about 5-minutes of prepared comments and then fielded Q&A for 2-hours, it was pretty damn interesting. In the prepared commentary Warren said "whatever bad traits you might share with the person on your left try to minimize them, and whatever good traits you don't share with the person on your right try to acquire them"... ...I'm looking for the Panthers to acquire a lot (not all!) of the hard-line "this is serious business" (both in the front office & on the field) no-holds-barred traits that have defined the Patriots for years now --- said traits are the baseline for their astounding success over the long-term. The Patriots don't ever cave to player demands and rarely if ever hand out crappy contracts that are unfriendly to the team/ https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/06/08/brandon-lafell-patriots-work-a-little-harder-than-the-panthers/ -
Please proceed... Go ahead and admit it, you too were thinking of Love all along...
-
I don't advise going that route but these contracts do have provisions that directly address quitting. If a player is unhappy and wants to quit to go to work in another industry that option is available to him...but obviously he will no longer be paid as per the terms of the contract.

The players and owners agreed to a system of tags that was deemed to be fair to both parties. Whether 3-tags happens is yet to be determined but it is in the set of possible outcomes. Don't care about a "soured relationship"...if you want to ...get paid show up and play -- no pouting allowed. [end of that sentence got cut off somehow] -

Don't care about a "soured relationship"...if you want to Nonsense. This just is not happening. Again, nonsense. There is absolutely nothing "sudden" or "amateurish" going on here...it's simply a long-term negotiation that hasn't culminated in a deal...and that's OK, especially from the Panthers perspective. -

Unless he wants that kind of money now, which would explain why there is no deal yet… You raise an interesting issue... ...who has considered the possibility that Moton's camp is making an ask that's completely unrealistic? Naaah...has to be the billionaire-meanie beating up on the little guy. -
I was right, you're wrong.

Jobs are plentiful... ...if you don't like it do something about it.

What will a week 1 loss to the Jets do to Darnold?
SizzleBuzz replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm surprised they aren't holding him out in order to keep his psyche intact...let him start his official Panthers competition in week-2. -

If Moton is going to switch to LT seems to me he would want to play under the tag... ...if he proves he can do it there's a bigger pot of dough at the end of that particular rainbow. -
I understand. Just trying to help them understand it's Belichick that's in charge of what affects players day-to-day in the facility. That said, the "billionaires are big ol' meanies" narrative is a so tired and worn out...LOL.

I have no problem whatsoever with 3. Norman's agent didn't understand easily Jerry Richardson could devolve into a fit of pique, unfortunate situation. I've seen no public comments whatsoever from the Panthers questioning Moton in any way, nothing improper going on that would hurt their negotiating position. -
Everyone in the NFL knows what it's like to play under Belichick... ...including Marsh -- he knew exactly what he was signing up for -- shouldn't have gone there in the first place. Belichick isn't a "billionaire"...stop with the "these billionaires are big ol' meanies" nonsense!

Absolutely nobody "thinks" that Taylor "wants to sign three separate tags." However, in order for the team to get the best possible deal for the team, Moton's camp needs to understand the franchise will use all 3 if necessary... -

Wow, that's an awful lot of hate for a person you have probably never met, or talked to, or have any idea what is actually going on in his head. Just sticking up for our man Moton. When folks start lumping Taylor in with that wing-ding L. Bell something's gotta give... -
"talking about it" only makes him look bad and in no way changes his reality. You're thinking Kyle Love and it was opposite your recollection, Pat's then Panthers.
-
No we wouldn’t Agreed.
-
Nobody is forcing them to stay... ...if you're unhappy don't whine like a little bitch -- but rather -- do something about it.

If they can't come to terms on a multi-year deal they will absolutely tag him again and I'd fully expect it to be exclusive in nature. How'd that work out for him? L. Bell is an unstable idiot -- Moton is not. To project how Moton is going to behave based on an what moron like Bell stupidly did is a complete joke.
