  1. 10yr timeline NFL MVP's = Mahomes & DW, why would Texans EVER trade? Recap: 1. Texans contract with DW is ironclad. 2. In no scenario are the Texans better w/o DW. 3. Texans are not obligated to trade DW. 4. Texans won't trade DW. 5. DW won't walk from $146,540,000. The End.
  2. Seems to be moving up quickly in the inside lane with a lot of NFL prognosticators....
  3. It's not your place to speak for me, pal. In theory the player has some "leverage", but if the Texans are resolute he really doesn't. Take the "bully" crap and stick it into your ear-hole -- if anyone is doing some "bullying" it is the player and his lame-ass "team" of advisors. Back to the future...
  4. Really? You're suggesting months of being MIA and not returning phone call and cryptic tweets and generally aberrant behavior wasn't sending a crystal clear signal? LOL...
  5. So why did he sign a contract with such a sorry franchise in the first place? Greedy?
  6. Deshaun Watson So he's invoking the (non-existent) my-feelings-are-hurt clause to welch on his contract?
  7. We really don't have any on-the-record confirmation that a meeting did take place, but...if the reported zoom call really did take place, why do you think the player agreed to participate? And, why do you believe there is zero chance the player will change his mind but the team will?
  8. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. I fully acknowledge the fact that a trade is in the set of possible outcomes. I hope they don't trade him. I don't think they should trade him. I don't think they will trade him. I very well may be wrong. That said, it seems the vast majority of the credentialed press and a major swath of the general public are placing 0.00% on the chances of the Texans holding the player to his contract... ...that's a naive position to take.
  9. Has there been a media report with an attributable source that says the Texans have an interest in trading the player? His stance has changed, he caved and took a meeting. Clearly he doesn't, but he's under contract to the Houston Texans...the team is in the control position.
  10. Concur 100% that the range of options is vast but there's zero logic for concluding the Texans have softened their stance... ...the only person/party who has given ground so far is the player.
  11. He absolutely was -- doesn't mean the new sheriffs in town continue to share info with him. Rinse and repeat. Agreed.
  12. McClain may just be the reporter scorned at this point and is now choosing to bite the hand that used to feed him... With all the upper level management changes it's logical to that McClain has been cut off from the information flow from the Texans he singularly enjoyed previously.
  13. That's exactly what it is. Again, exactly what it is. So what? Fact is these players are under contract to the Texans and are obligated to play for the McNair's So sad, too bad...
  14. Sure it is. Sure there is... Watt is done -- this player is just getting started -- two completely different issues
  15. I can't imagine them being that petty. It's simply business, nothing petty about it. The player is one of the 2 best franchise QB's in the NFL when viewed through a 10yr lens, a team cannot afford to let that sort of talent go to another team... ...not to mention doing so would be a disservice to the entire NFL in terms of setting precedent --- this is the time to draw a line in the sand.
  16. Tepper has donated $125m to Carnegie Mellon. I am sure JR's number of $150m is no coincidence. I don't believe there's any connection whatsoever.
  17. Odds of Bezos buying into Redskins and Texans trading Watson are identical... ...0.00%.
  18. Recap: 1. Texans contract w/ DW is ironclad, he's locked up thru 2025. 2. There is no scenario where Texans are better off without DW. 3. Texans have no obligation to trade DW. 4. Texans won't trade DW. 5. DW does not have the stones to walk from $146,540,000. The End.
