The "situation" definitely isn't "normal". That said, personally I don't find at all difficult to understand.
-
Inconclusive. It's not possible to discern what he is and isn't responsible for. Heck, we don't even know who he reports to.
-
This is a VERY important point you raise there. If the early cases filed (3 or 4) are indicative of the trend within the larger pool of 24... ...you will be wrong. That said, you might be right.

It's "Weinstein"....pal. Weinstein's transgressions took place over decades and were bi-coastal/multi-state...completely different situation. If the complaints are even remotely accurate (and as it goes to location it's very likely they are) Watson's predatory behaviour was limited to 15-months or less and highly concentrated in the Houston area. [EDIT: The way things are going if cases in NYC and Miami start surfacing it won't be a surprise.] It makes perfect sense a small handful of aggrieved/licensed masseuses would take the lead and once they did, others would follow...
-
Sure it did... ...that you're unwilling to acknowledge that the gathering of cases within a close-knit legal situation is SOP is on you, you're naive... Question: Do you believe it's possible the plaintiffs are telling the truth? Yes or no? PS...compensation will be awarded/distributed on a case-by-case basis -- it's not up to Buzbee's discretion.
-
WOW. Good link... ...cheers mate.
-
Sure... Virtually all of the plaintiffs are from Houston (1 flown in from ATL). Again, most all are trained/licensed massage-therapists upon whom deep background checks have been completed. As big as Houston is the trained/licensed massage-therapist community is small -- and they talk. Watson gradually worked his way through a meaningful portion of that community... ...at some point 2 or 3 of the women were comparing notes and were similarly mortified at their amazingly similar experiences.... ...and collectively they hired representation (Buzbee). Between the masage-therapists and Buzbee word hit the street and simpatico therapists naturally coalesced with their brethren... ...it's quite simple really.

You know not of what you speak... Prepare yourself to be disappointed.

REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade
SizzleBuzz replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thanks, I was just wondering if it was a mis-timed lawsuit. Meaning that it was supposed to have been submitted after he was traded. In that scenario the Texans would have just missed this drama. Nick Wilson might just be the single dumbest F*** on sports radio but this is a good interview: https://wfnz.com/category/shows/nick-wilson/ [Aaron Wilson...3/22...12.59pm] Word has been circulating around Houston for a while... -
Who is talking about criminal court? I am speaking in more public opinion and in turn the NFL. If he does get criminally convicted who knows what happens. Does it make it to trial, does he plead, how many charges will he get? Its still really early in the process but I have to think the NFL dings him after their investigation What are the odds that criminal charges enter the equation at some point? Let's put the over/under at 50/50%... ...what say ye?
-
He coulda paid $10X what these licensed/trained massage-therapists were charging... ...and would have been getting off cheap. He's in the hole for a gigantic pile of cash at this point...
-
What is the "regular pathway" for when 24+ women legally/formally accuse a superstar NFL QB of sexual infidelities? As for "ambulance lawyers looking for a big score"...if you don't already know who Anthony T. Buzbee, Esq. is...then, you're uninformed pal. He's already secured $2,000,000,000 (billion, with a B) of awards for clients and is estimated to be worth $700,000,000+ personally...this ain't about a "score" -- Watson is a pauper compared to most of the opposition Buzbee sues. You appear to be the robot/sheep here....
-
What difference does it make?
-
You have no idea of which you speak... NOTE: In the previous post I meant to mention in terms of "numbers" this may not yet rise to the level of a "class action" suit but the general legal strategy is identical.
-
Your post is a complete and udder pile of steaming bovine dung. Watson absolutely deserves the presumption of innocence -- period.
-
This is how class-action lawsuits work. Apparently Watson blew through a significant portion of the working massage therapists in Houston... ...makes perfect sense they'd end up with the same lawyer in the same town.
-
So what? There's nothing wrong with running for Mayor. It was a political ad akin to "paid actors" simulating real life situations -- happens in all kinds of ads all-day every-day. Mayor of Houston whined & bitched at length (kinda like DW) to no avail, there was no violation. Ye doth protest too much...
-
Complete horse hockey... Again, do you believe it is possible the plaintiffs are telling the truth? Yes or no?
-
Sure it is. Your opinion, nothing more. Again, simply your opinion and completely unrelated to his acumen as an attorney. Seems logical... Watson drove his credibility into the ditch over the last 4-6 months with his petulant behaviour. It is a fact that 14 formal complaints/lawsuits have been filed. Within those complaints there are a lot of allegations... ...you are correct that until Watson presents his side of the story no conclusions should be drawn... ...yet you are choosing to besmirch the character of the plaintiffs simply because they chose to hire a (highly capable and successful) lawyer you don't like. Question -- do you believe it's possible the plaintiffs are telling the truth? Yes or no?
-
You may not like Buzbee but he's one of less than a handful of the most capable and successful attorney's in Texas if not the United States... ...he has secured over $2,000,000,000 (that's billion, with a B) of judgements on behalf of his clients... ...was Texas Attorney of the Year in 2015 and has been featured on the cover of the New York Times Magazine. Underestimate him at your own risk.
-
That would be one heck of an outcome! That said, your scenario would give the Texans even more leverage to keep him in Houston. 20+ payouts + attorney fees is very expensive. Yesterday on radio Aaron Wilson (Houston Chronicle) said the fee to put Rusty Hardin (DW's lawyer) on retainer is $1,000,000... ...your scenario would incinerate a large pile of cash in rapid fashion. "Sitting out" is becoming less-and-less palatable, and quickly --- DW is gonna need the money.
-
What would they gain by cutting him?

When was the last time Watson's camp made a comment of any kind?

Oh I believe Verge is correct... ...Tepper is the lead dog pulling the sled to Watsonville -- everyone else is simply following. -

When Buzbee made the inititial offer there if there was more than one client involved, it was a very small number... ...given the current numbers "reasonable" has left the building!
