  1. Dator...the ultimate dolt. Here he is in full flight: https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2018/2/21/17036216/david-tepper-brass-testicles-plaque-carolina-panthers-owner?_gl=1*5182tx*#comments
  2. Fitterer did not make that decision in a vacuum. That decision was made collaboratively and unanimously by the hydra known as Tepper-Rhule-Fitterer. You are correct that there is no Plan B!!
  3. How many of the 11 do you believe will stick and actually play a game?
  4. Kuechly's official title is pro scout, but Fitterer and the team have said they don't want to narrowly define job roles so they may have had him do some college scouting as well. Within the Appaloosa Model that's what is known as a "generalist"... ...logical and excellent use of Luke given the breadth/depth of his experience/knowledge.
  5. 24 on June 5th. Still young. The key is can Sam join you in forgetting all the bad things that happened in NY or will he keep seeing the ghosts?
  6. Bears did manage to go to playoffs last season with a warm body at QB. Given the way the team is built and it's strengths it is a great place for a young QB. Now can the Bears groom and help Fields actually grow? Who knows. Since 2010 in the regular season the Panthers have won 83 games and the Bears have won 84.
  7. Deeeep background in analytics....a prerequisite for Tepper to consider plugging him into the model.
  8. Seems like folks are starting to warm up to Tepper and the Appaloosa Way...
  9. Agreed. I saw some other (laughable) take that said Fields couldn't be drafted because Rhule's plan was to coach up Darnold like a rookie and that will be real difficult and trying to coach up 2 rookie QB's at the same time is just too much to ask of 24-7 multi-billion dollar professional football organization... ...heck, why don't we roll the clock back to 9th grade while we're at it?
  10. Well then the Chicago handicap will have to be factored into the evaluation... ...sounds like no matter what happens Fields is going to be due a free pass -- just like the one Sam has received.
  11. Good vid thanks. Is this McShay the same one who thinks Deshaun Watson and Sam are basically interchangeable? Interesting quote from Louis Riddick at 5:40 mark: "I didn't get the sense he's broken... ...as long as they come out of the gate with him and he has some success right away and he doesn't have to really face any of those old demons, great... ...now if he gets down there and all of a sudden he's starting to get hit again and things aren't going well, of course, you're going to start going "yeah he was broken" but I don't think that's gonna happen..." Hmm.
  12. Kiper definitively said Sam would be the #2 QB in the draft. I see no evidence of the other 2 saying this Nobody is throwing Sam under the bus
  13. A. Sam Darnold ain't no A-Aron... B. Don't care what A-Aron thinks...he's acting like a whiny bitch. "I don't necessarily believe in 'fair' in sports." -- Matt Rhule --
  14. Most would have Sam ranked as the #2 QB in this draft, and is the same age group. Sam dealt with some poo in NYJ, QB is a very cerebral position and they want him to feel secure and supported Kiper (who is roundly criticized here and considered a buffoon) said that, haven't seen it from anyone else. (possibly I missed it) If some stiff competition frightens Sam, well then, they definitely got the wrong guy (and it sure appears they don't want him to face any, competition that is).
  15. David Tepper, always, has a plan. He has put a model/framework in place and properly staffed it with smart guys...and even more importantly, has made certain everyone knows their role and how they are expected to operate within the prescribed system. Being the smartest, and the wealthiest, is a lethal combination as it goes to being an NFL owner! Good times are on the way...
  16. Rhule is a psychologist. Either that or a stone cold liar. I mean who really has any faith in Will Grier?
  17. The guys making the decision totally disagreed with you and preferred Darnold over Fields. Your confidence or arrogance, whichever you prefer, has you thinking your perspective is better than the guys getting paid to make those decisions. My understanding is that at the time of the Darnold signing there was no expectation Fields would still be available at #8... ...as such, they went with Darnold rather than getting completely shut out in the QB sweepstakes. Given Sam is now in the fold nobody inside would ever speak to the truth which very well could be that they did prefer Fields... Personally I expect Fields to outplay Sam....but I am hoping for the best for Sam because by all accounts he's a good kid.
  18. NY Post gave them a solid A- grade. Only 7 teams graded higher and 21 graded lower. Not bad. Of note: Saints at #29 and Texans DFL at #32. https://nypost.com/2021/05/01/2021-nfl-draft-grades-for-all-32-teams/
  19. In fact it's generally the exact opposite of what you say.
  20. Draft just ended not too long ago...
