If Mitchell is there, he is the no brainer. A route runner with size and speed to do anything on the field. I love a bunch of the wrs but he has went to the front of my list so far.
Totally agree

Ooooh. If I'm being honest, I like Pearsall a bit more due to his toughness and slightly larger frame.
They are both right in line w/route running and quickness.
But Pearsall is so fast at beating zone. McConkey missing some time last year doesn't concern me, but that is also something to factor in. Pearsall doesn't shy from contact at all, and with that said hasn't been banged up. Just a tough and rather spunky dude that's improved every year. I've seen a fiesty-Godwin comp which I think is really appropriate.

Trade Idea: Should Houston Texans Pursue Panthers Defensive Tackle Derrick Brown?
Could Derrick Brown go to the Houston Texans in free agency with his rookie contract expiring?
https://www.si.com/nfl/texans/news/houston-texans-trade-derrick-brown-carolina-panthers
I read this article. Hopefully the front office isn’t crazy enough to even consider something to this extent or hear any nonsense like this. He was the 2nd most tackler last year for the team only behind Luvu who we was unable to re-sign. I haven’t had a lot of second guessing with the three amigos just a couple that I wish we could’ve re-signed.

I don’t agree on Coleman; I would say if Adonai Mitchell is available the team should take him. Instead of drafting Braelon Allen; I’d draft a CB if Khyree Jackson or Elijah Jones if available. 5th round: Ben Sinnott, TE and ?(WR/CB, or ED if you haven’t drafted one yet). Then draft Drake Nugent, C in the 7th round.

My Mock Draft 2024 (IMO)
(33) Adonai Mitchell, WR
(39) Chris Braswell, Edge
(65) Payton Wilson, LB
(101) Khyree Jackson, CB
(141) Beaux Limmer, C
(142) Dallin Holker, TE
(240) Cornelius Johnson, WR- 1

Was B the one with Mitchell? If so then B all the way for me too. I doubt he falls to 33 though…

I love Pearsall. He's my favorite WR this year after the top-4 and McConkey.
Who I was hinting at...there's an ILB in Junior Colson that is far and away the best at the spot in the draft. And an incredible leader at that, to bring in and lead this defense for 8+ years. Shaq is coming off a big injury in his final contract year, Jewell is an older guy, is more of a stop-gap while we rebuild. Our LB GM could very well be looking for our next true leader in the middle.
Junior Colson at 33 is something I gotta say I've been flirting with and honestly love. If you want to rebuild you have to find your core.

Lot of mostly meh in that list and they're all stopgaps at or approaching 30.
I know some are after Chase Young but he's bouncing between teams now for a reason.
Wasn't Ngakoue someone we considered last season?
All in all it's either another trade with a significant payday right after it or just plug in what we can and retool next year. Might as well accept what's likely to happen.

Luvu is the best second-level presence, and better than at least 2/3 of the roster. Panther front office must make a concerted effort to extend Luvu. His consistently has been incredible and excemplary. His ability to factor into the entire defense, and his leadership skills has made him a cornerstone of the defensive plan. Not re-signing Luvu would be sending the wrong message to the rest of the team and the whole league.

Hopefully their releasing these players to make it possible to give Frankie Luvu a new contract, and start signing players to fill the holes with players in needed positions!

I have read several post, and have found Nicole is between 53-64. I found a couple sites that she was born in 1959, which makes her 64. I have heard that she had been working at Appaloosa before they was married, but that may not be correct may have been a spoof.

I hope the power couple does everything they can to sign Frankie Luvu! It would be a great loss if Luvu is able to walk!

This isn't chatter it's just a wish that Luke Kuechly be hired as a Defensive Quality Control coach or Assistant Linebacker Coach he'd be someone that would be able to bring life to the locker room even though he's called a quite man!

This. I don’t even think about 3-4 vs 4-3 any more. At best you just think of it as what base front do you run? 3 DL vs 4 DL. Everything else in the back 7-8 varies after that
They could also convert 4-2-5 defense, but I never see that happening because they don't have the personnel to play that defense, lol

Almost all our FAs are on the defensive side of the ball too (ones that matter) so locking in the DC should be priority. No sense re-signing dudes if we are changing DCs and scheme because they might not fit one or the other, possibly both.
Here's the list:
Ray and Thurman were offered new deals shortly after the season, so at least the DL has some depth.
IMO I'd sign Frankie Luvu (He's a hype man)(multi-year contract), pair him back up with Kamu Grugier-Hill (depth) cap-friendly, Derrick Brown (extension), Yetur Gross-Matos (depth) cap-friendly, Jeremy Chinn (short-term/prove it deal cap-friendly) great when not injured and (line him up as a rover linebacker/moneybacker, Donte Jackson (short term/cap friendly), sign Brian Burns as a non-exclusive franchise tag player (so other teams can make offers, if panthers don't match, and he signs with another team panthers is entitled to (2) first-round picks as compensation!

Brandt Tilis title will probably be like the 49ers setup as President of Panthers Enterprises & EVP OF Football Operations

IMO It should be a title like Co-GM/ President of Salary Cap & Negotiations!

Co-GM’s: Dan Morgan Jr, GM Personnel; Alec Halaby, GM Operations/Personnel!
Asst GM: Adrian Wilson

I will say this. I've read (and heard on video) that there may be some growing steam for a Co-GM model with Morgan as one of the GMs.
The problem for me is that it sounds eerily akin to the bullshit model we already had, just with different wrapping---different "convolutedness" if you will. Who is going to be the tiebreaker? We all know the answer.
If this happens, Tepper is so full of bullshit.
The Co-GM would work the way it does for other teams. One GM handles more personnel and the other does operations/player evaluation!

More than one Panthers analyst has suggested that personnel is our biggest weakness, and yet we're ignoring established personnel people like Mike Borgonzi and Ray Agnew in favor of analytics guys.
My theory on that is it's because Tepper understands and believes in analytics whereas actual personnel evaluation is way over his head.
So ultimately It sounds like we're going to hire the person that David Tepper wants over the kind of guy we actually need
First thing is you don’t understand analytics because it is based off statistics and what things has happened in the past to predict what might happen again. Some of the most famous and successful coaches used a form of analytics to succeed it just wasn’t mentioned using the words analytics. So being against candidates that analytics is in their description is just a bias towards the word of analytics being used.

Unlikely but when it’s time to pick I wish BPA would correlate with a team need. But when it come to LB if Jr. Colson or Payton Wilson falls into 3rd round I’d strongly consider making one of them for that pick.
