  1. If I was Hamilton, I'm not sure I would want to come work for Rhule knowing he is a lame duck HC next year. And there is no QB on the Panthers that's worth scheming for. This is not an attractive opening.
  2. His turnover problem is a mental issue. Dude just plays scared at the QB position. If he hasn't fixed it by now this far into his career, he won't fix it in a single offseason.
  3. He wants to run the football because he can't find a QB to throw or even manage a game!
  4. There are reports that he is considering Bill Obrien, THE Bill Obrien that ruined the Texans! Just when you think it can't get any worse, it really can. Also, no offensive coordinator is going to fix this clown show, it starts with the head coach. We also don't have a QB, no OC is going to fix Darnold.
  5. Matt Rhule: "He is a franchise QB, you just can't see it yet!"
  6. That's the conundrum, but it sounds like Tepper gave Rhule the authority to make football decisions. I don't think Tepper will force Sam on Rhule just because of money. Tepper is not afraid to spend, he sat quietly as Rhule fired Joe Brady with all that wasted money. He paid Teddy to go away, he will do the same with Sam. Rhule has tried to find his franchise QB through free agency and through trade and both have failed, I would be shocked if he passed on a QB in the draft.
  7. For all the huddlers wanting to draft O-line first, do you guys really think Rhule will play another year with Sam at the QB position? If there is one thing Rhule has done is that he knows the QB position is most important position, evidence by Teddy and Darnold acquisitions. Rhule just sucks at evaluating the QBs and lost on his gambles. A 1st round offensive linemen with Darnold at QB will not help Rhule save his job, he will reach for a QB in the first round. This all leads to Panther suckage for a few more years.
  8. The only problem with this is that there's no franchise QB worth this amount in this draft. SF really thought Lance was worth it. Which team this year would give up that value for a LT, CB, safety etc?
  9. Depending on how far we are willing to trade back, teens or 20s? But at least a future first round pick for sure. I just don't know if any prospect is worth that value to trade up for besides a reach for one of the QBs.
  10. I do fear that Rhule will be desperate to save his job and ruin the franchise for years to come to try and win now. I mean look what Bill Obrien did to the Texans. Rhule knows that Cam and Sam are not the answer at the QB position and I think he will reach for a QB in this year's draft and get fired because he has another losing record. I hope whoever coaches the Panthers in 2023 has the guts to start all over and draft another QB of their liking. Similar to what Cardinals did with Kyler Murray and Josh Rosen, it turned out pretty good for them.
  11. The front office has invested heavily into the defensive line and if it's not working out then I blame them for the crap show they assembled. Brown and Burns are 1st rounders. YGM, Nixon are 2-3 rounders, Roy and Hoskins is late round. Cmon, if you drafted 6 defensive line players within the last 2 years and they aren't working out then you suck at evaluating talent or coaching them up.
  12. I wouldn't read too much into this from Robby. He is getting criticized for celebrating because he caught a pass on the last drive while down 36-6 to Tampa. When he doesn't get his touches, he yells at Sam on the sideline. When he drops passes he says he's going through a phase. This is the kind of player Rhule brought in because of previous ties, no wonder this team is not going anywhere, it's Rhule's process.
  13. "The running backs are running. You just can't see the yards."
  14. LOL, this is coming from a coach who said Jay-Z did it in 7 years! He wants to give Sam 7 years to turn it around only for it to blow up in his face after 5 games this year. You know, I saw the introductory press conference for the Eagles HC and thought he was an idiot and dumb as a bag of bricks, turns out we were the fools thinking Rhule was better.
  15. I agree, I think any 3+ game losing streak will end his tenure as HC.
  16. Tepper hired Rhule because his wife made good meatballs during their meeting in Texas! That's the only rational reason I can come up with.
  17. LOL, back away from the ledge bro! We care to a certain extent, that's why we are all in here venting on the Huddle! "Does anybody feel like how I feel about the Panthers?!?!" (Checks internet, search carolina huddle, post sh*t, move on with our lives, only to do it again tomorrow.)
  18. I'm starting to believe that Rhule only got this job because Hurney and Tepper fell in love with Rhule's wife's meatballs when they visited him in Texas.
  19. Per some reports, it sounds like Rhule will at least get one more season. What does Rhule have to achieve in 2022 to save his job? I personally think that he has to make the playoffs to even survive. A .500 record or even winning record but missing playoffs will not cut it. I worry that Rhule will be desperate this off season and make bad free agent signings or poor draft decisions to sink us even further.
  20. With each passing week and presser from Rhule, it becomes clearer and clearer that he has never faced this kind of expectations before. All of his college jobs have been programs that were in the cellar or in turmoil and expectations weren't that great. In the NFL, it's magnified 1000x and Rhule is in unfamiliar territory. He is grasping at anything just to say something. I think Rhule just sucks at game planning and is not an X/O's guy. The only "culture" and "process" he is building is a losing one.
  21. How does Burns make the pro bowl but Reddick didn't? Statistically Reddick is better. Congrats to Burns though.
  22. I like this. Both Sam and Cam have 5 rushing TDs this year. Put both of them together on the field for QB read QB option? lol Is Sam going to run it or is Cam going to run it? How is that for a spark to the run game?
  23. What all of this is showing is that Rhule and his staff are completely out coached and clueless on a weekly basis. Wrong play call in that situation is on the coaching staff. Burns said in the loss to Atl that the RB was always chipping him when he tried to rush which negated his pressure. Robby Anderson said that Bills had a lot of CB blitzes which affected Cam. Anderson also called out the coaching staff early in the season for not recognizing CB coverage, I think it was the Eagles game? All of the players recognize these adjustments and the coaching staff are too dumb to adjust in game or plan for it on a weekly basis. This is why college coaches can't make it in the NFL, as long as they have better athletes on the field they'll more than likely win. In the NFL, you actually have to plan for opponents.
  24. I think the biggest issue that ultimately will end Rhule's tenure as HC is his lack of a franchise QB. NFL head coaching career are tied directly to the quality of their QB. Rhule's fault is that he gambled on Teddy and Darnold. He honestly thought that they could be franchise QBs or that they can be salvaged = dead wrong. Franchise QBs don't hit the free agent market, only Tom Brady. He tried to salvage this season with signing Cam but Cam is also not the answer, this reeks of desperation. Maybe Rhule thinks his culture or process can be good enough to put any average QB in and succeed. I guarantee that if he does not have an answer for the QB this offseason, he will not last a full season next year. I don't think Tepper will fire him and will give him one last chance to correct his flaws. Year 3, Rhule's seat will be the hottest of all the hot seats!
