I think the difference maker will be our O-line vs their D-line. Their defense has the most sacks at 35 for the year. Our O-line is banged up, and if Bryce plays, he does very poorly with pressure. I do expect Bryce to struggle. Our defense can't stop anyone, even a bad Daniel Jones will be enough to score points on our D. Honestly, I'm not surprised that Giants are favored.

Cowboys Trade for Jonathan Mingo
CarolinaRideorDie replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Keeping Johnson and losing him in the offseason and not getting anything in return is worse. At least we got a pick out of this. Even if we pick a long snapper in the 5th it contributes more to this team. And who says we are going to use the Ravens pick, this is just more ammo for Dan to package into a deal and maybe move up. He has shown that he's not afraid to wheel and deal in the draft. -

From a production standpoint, Dionte did produce, he just wasn't worth the headache. -

Mingo got more in return than Dionte Johnson did?!?! Leave Dan Morgan alone, he knows what he is doing! -
Overall, I think Bryce played fine. A mix of good plays and bad plays. The biggest difference is that I think he played with a lot more confidence and actually tried to trust his receivers to make a play. He took shots and trusted his receivers to go and get it, ex. Sanders Hail Mary, drop by Moore, Legette Int. I think Dalton showed him that you can still make a play and receivers aren't going to be college open. Yes we played against a bad Saints defense but our team was also super banged up too. I honestly expect Bryce to struggle against the Giants defense. Their team is #1 in the league in sacks at 35 total. I don't think our O-line is going to hold up against their pass rushers and Bryce will struggle with pressure.

So it can get worse! We've been so bad for so long, losing to the Panthers is the worst thing that can happen to any team lol!

For everyone saying we should trade Bryce, what do you guys expect he will be traded for? Everyone in here was upset that Johnson was traded for a fifth. Teams aren’t giving a third or 4th rounder for Bryce.

Poor game management by canales!

Bryce up again?

Damn it! Bryce is playing scared!!!

Time to Bryce up son!!

Honest analysis of this game. Bryce didn’t lose the game, he also didn’t really help win it. Overall the defense is the biggest problem now, we won’t win any games unless we score 30+ points, which we know we aren’t doing.

Damn, that’s a great play by the CB.

Canales is one playing to lose!

Wtf play calling!!!

Bad play calling by Canales! Why not run with chubba!!!

Yeah I think Dan Morgan has done a good job of finding contributors. Wallace is playing well, Legette is our future #1, Coker is contributing. Brooks remains TBD, this kid the most we’ve gotten out of a single draft compared to previous drafts!

This defense is so soft!

Time to see if Ward can carry this team! If you're a winner, time to prove it!
-
First time watching him play, he plays with a lot of happy feet. Not a rhythm thrower or traditional drop back passer. He's got the talent but will need work.

Duke is giving Miami a tough fight! This will be a good challenge for Ward.

I think Ward has all the potential and is in the conversation to be #1 QB. He's got the physical tools, he has faced adversity from no name college to Miami, he's put up the stats, has won games coming playing from behind. I think he just needs to play well in the playoffs and big time games. He is very similar to Cam Newton in regards to his college career. If Miami wins the championship, I think you have to draft him #1 overall.

Hindsight is 20/20, but when you look at that class, Stroud had the best resume. He fit the physical mold and had the pedigree and stats to be a franchise QB. Bryce had the stats and big time games, but he lacked the size. Richardson and Levis were huge projections and you just hoped that they develop. Our FO needs to examine how they evaluate QBs in the future. There needs to be specific criteria: won in college, played in big games, have the physical traits, have the work ethic.

Davante Adamas is a ALL PRO, likely future HOF and he got traded for a 3rd round pick. Johnson is not even top 15 WR in the league, temper your expectations.
