Rich Eisen on Pelissero's QB piece
CarolinaRideorDie replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
What I took away from this clip is that if McAdoo really rated Josh Allen and Mahomes higher in their respective draft classes, then it's not out of the question that Malik might be QB #1 on our list. McAdoo did mention that he would rather swing for the fences in a QB instead of take a safe bet. We'll see how much pull McAdoo really has. If you can convince me that Malik has the same upside as Josh Allen and Mahomes but it'll take one year to realize it, I would support the pick. -
LOL, not only does Darnold look like the dude in the gif but that's probably how Darnold reacted to hearing that he needs to stop throwing INTs from McAdoo.

I think the evaluation on Pickett and Willis is spot on. I agree that Willis has all the physical potential but he doesn't do the "winning things," like Polian said. Pickett did well in his senior year because he "fit" their system. If it had to be a QB then it should be Pickett. Willis is too raw.
-
Rhule was hired to take over all football operations and all decisions go through him, so he is primarily the one to blame. I also think Joe Brady played a big part of it, Teddy was signed because he was "familiar" with Brady's offense in New Orleans. Brady must have believed that he could fix Darnold.
-
That's my take from this as well. He has a flat affect, is not a hoo-rah kind of guy, just indifferent. And that's exactly why he is a mediocre QB at best. Upsetting to hear him say that he CAN be a good QB because he has been before...???? When? Where? Which multiverse? This guys has the physical tools but lacks intangibles and that's the difference.

Obvserver’s Alexander interview with Fitterer
CarolinaRideorDie replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think this is great insight into how Fitt thinks. His evaluation of Wilson is pretty telling. The physical qualities don't always matter that much compared to the intangibles. I remember watching John Gruden's QB camp on ESPN for the upcoming QBs in the draft and Wilson stood out a lot. He was smart and had the "it" factor. -
What matters: a QB’s talent or their situation?
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think there are very few generational QBs that can win regardless of situation. Ex. Tom Brady, Rodgers, Manning. But fit is probably the most important factor. McVay went to 2 superbowls with 2 different QBs and ultimately won one with Stafford and Stafford never went to a superbowl before. McCarthy is carried by Rodgers and Dak, and Dak can't win a play off game with McCarthy. Mahomes is great but would he be as successful without Andy Reid...IDK? -
Scouting reports for the top three quarterbacks

Rhule and Fitterer are the last dudes without a date to prom. They are gonna ask the ugly girl to the dance just to have a date. -
Scouting reports for the top three quarterbacks
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we are evaluating this year's QB class, we have to compare it to Baker and Darnold's QB class since those are our other options at QB. It's very telling if you think Darnold and Baker were better prospects compared to this year's class. They went top 3, there might not even be a top 10 QB this year. Why reach for a QB who is less of a prospect compared to Darnold and Baker? -
YGM is the dude to replace Reddick. He was a highly touted prospect with potential and drafted in the second round. He is going into year 3 and he has to step up and prove it this year. We drafted him to be THAT guy. DE's in year 3 is their boom or bust year. I remember Greg Hardy went off his 3rd year.
-
Then it would be a blessing, forcing Rhule to take one of the top tackles.
-
I don't care how far or how much velocity a QB can throw. Jamarcus Russell had one of the best workouts and went #1 overall. Look how that turned out. These workouts don't mean much, it's like saying a guy can drive a go-kart real fast = he must be a great Nascar driver.

Johnny Hekker to Carolina per Schefter
CarolinaRideorDie replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
This makes sense, with our offense being so trash, we need a good punter to punt it from our 10 yard line deep into their territory lol! At least he is a winner! -
Watson is a selfish me first player. Sat out a whole year while his team struggled, gets mad because his bosses don't consult with him, makes millions anyways, harasses women, make teams get into a bidding war for him only to change his mind last min. Browns being the Browns and giving up 3 1st round picks for him. Suspension by NFL still possible. This will be the end of Watson's career. Glad he didn't pick us.
-
I bet Watson didn't want to come here because of lame duck HC Rhule...lol!!! Look what you did Tepper by keeping Rhule around! Besides, I'm glad Panthers are out of the running for Watson, he alone was not going to change this franchise around after mortgaging our entire future for him.
-
He is hyped because he is the best of a weak QB class. It's like being the prettiest ugly girl. He is extremely boom or bust and even more of a risk than when Cam came out. At least Cam showed that he could elevate his teammates around him and win a championship. I don't even remember a single offensive player on that Championship Auburn that has made it in the NFL. Nick Fairley was on defense but he busted too. I think that shows how much Cam carried that team. Willis hasn't accomplished any of that and scouts are just trying to report on something positive.
-
We have plenty of RBs, unless......CMC is changing to slot WR?
-
The reason why this team won 5 games was because of the defense, the reason why they lost 12 games is because of the offense.

Panthers sign S Xavier Woods (3 years, 15.75m)
CarolinaRideorDie replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
So I bet he went to Temple or Baylor right? Or was previously with the Jets? -
I have no doubt and full confidence that our FO (mostly Rhule) will screw us for the next 5 years with any deal involving Watson. This guy was ready to give a 2nd, 4th, and 6th for an unproven Darnold. I wonder what he would give for Watson, hopefully his wife's meatballs are included to sweeten the deal because it worked on Tepper and Hurney!
-
If our scouts are so high on Willis with this weak QB draft class, I wonder what their reports were on last years QBs when it's unanimous that last year's class is significantly better? Hope these guys weren't the same ones scouting Darnold as well.
-
This is Pickett stroking Rhule when he drafts him...lol! As Deadpool said, Pickett must feel so large when he masturbates with little hands!
-
At least he called and asked about a proven franchise QB. Rhule calls around looking for unproven commodities.
