I think there is legitimate concern as he has talent on offense in Dallas. Dak, Zeke, Pollard, Lamb. Ben Johnson has who? Can Kellen Moore get the same production with less talent?

I do feel that Cam's MVP year is different compared to other MVP players outside of stats and simply because of his influence. Cam had everyone doing the "Dab!" People who didn't even watch football did the dab.

Rhule says he regrets throwing Cam under the bus

Must be a slow Wednesday at work, so much traffic and opinions on the Huddle this afternoon lol

Panthers hiring Reich gives me Commanders hiring Rivera vibes. At the time Rivera had credibility and at least found success and was better than what they had at HC, but after 3 years the Commanders are still a mediocre team and in QB purgatory. I think Panthers have just regressed so bad with Rhule that we're settling for any HC experience now.

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the next HC is not Wilks, I think the next guy will have a harder time winning over the locker room. At the end of the day the players will have to suck it up and play but we've already seen what happens when the team doesn't buy in (ex. Rhule.) Wilks already has the support of the locker room and team captains, he just needs to convince Tepper and Fitterer that he has a plan for the offense/QB situation. I think if Tepper isn't blown away by one of these young offense coordinators, Wilks will be the guy. If you guys were in Wilks position, how would you guys pitch your plan to Fit and Tepper? -
I don't mind a raw QB prospect AS LONG as the next HC can develop him. Our next HC and QB needs to be a perfect marriage. Joe Burrow is a franchise QB who saved Zac Taylor's job. Purdy is a poor prospect but playing well because of good coaching. Lawrence was trash before Pederson. I'm starting to move away from the notion that we have to have an elite prospect at the QB position, obviously it helps to be elite, but with right coaching and situation I think success can be found.

Came across this video and it's a really good quick scouting report on each QB prospect in this years class. I think this dude is spot on with his assessments of each QB, talks about strengths and weaknesses of each. Not a Levis supporter but I can grow to like and support him if he is our pick. If all 3 QBs are gone, the next question is if we would take Richardson in the top 10. His eval of Richardson is a more raw Cam Newton when he came out in 2011. Some on the huddle would rather roll with Corral, but he thinks Richardson is a much higher and better prospect that Corral.

When will the Panthers hire a new HC?

I don't think Payton wants to go back to NO. Why go back to an aging ex-girlfriend when you can hook up with a hot new girlfriend?

I think Denver recouped a late first round pick after trading Bradley Chubb to Miami, so they have that at least. Denver's job seems to be more attractive compared to Carolina if I was a head coach, unless you just hate Russell Wilson.

Go on record now before the hire is made Re: Sean Payton

There's a report out that Loomis wants AT LEAST 2 first rounders for Payton. I support hiring Payton but hell no to that asking price! -
There's been reports that Loomis now wants AT LEAST 2 1st rounders! I'm for hiring Payton but hell no to that asking price! Saints do have a lot to lose if they are asking too much, Payton would just sit out next season and then be free of his contract and NO wouldn't get any compensation.

Fair enough. We don't like getting colonoscopies, but it might save your ass from colon cancer, so we do it! -

The Huddle hated Roman Harper when he was with the Saints but cheered for him when he played for the Panthers. We don't like assholes, unless they are OUR assholes then it's ok. -
Jim Harbaugh has convo with David Tepper

I don't know that's why I'm asking. I thought teams couldn't talk to other candidates about coaching until after the season? -

Is this considered tampering though? -
Our next HC being defensive minded isn't a deal breaker. We've seen the genius OC Hackett and McDaniels do poorly as HC. Some guys just don't have it to lead men and that is the greatest quality of a HC. This team has played harder and better under Wilks, I just hope our future HC can settle to the QB situation once and for all.

The panthers are who we thought they were! We are an average football team without any real direction! We can win some games but we won’t win the real games that matter! Im ready to embrace the suckage to win the games that matter!!!! Tank bitches!

WTF is wrong with this group? I thought we said Darnold and Wilks were our answer last week? All of a sudden they aren’t? This fan base is poo!

Mayfield asked for his release and it was mutual from both sides. Walker would have likely stayed the starter if he didn't get injured. Wilks has decided to stay with Darnold because he hasn't turned the ball over with an emphasis on the run game. Posters on here act like Darnold has all of a sudden become a great QB.
-
We lost games last year because Darnold was a turnover machine. He had int and fumble issues. What does every coach preach? "Protect the football!" Darnold and Mayfield have the highest turnovers since they were drafted. Is it a coincidence that Panthers are winning when Darnold hasn't turned the ball over? I'm just stating that Wilks knows the limits and tendencies of Darnold so he isn't going to ask his QB to try and win the game. Rhule failed to see this and wanted Darnold/Mayfield to be franchise QBs which they are not, they are game managers.

Are we a ten win team with wilks from day one?
CarolinaRideorDie replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilks has already accomplished more in half a season than Rhule in his 2 years here. We've never won more than 5 games per season. We've got 6 wins, that is progress but everyone needs to slow their roll. Last week everyone was asking for Wilks to be fired, this week he is our savior? Let's reevaluate at the end of the season.
