This all day!! Finally the QB position is not a weakness, if anything it's a strength. We have to surround Bryce with alphas on the outside to make it easier on him and to generate big plays. It's no coincidence that Bryce has targeted Theilan more often because he is a savvy veteran and Bryce trusts him more than the other WRs. I think this season will hinge on our skill positions and not the QB. Burrow isn't as successful without Chase, Mahomes without Kelce, Allen without Diggs. Even prime Cam had Olsen.

Frank Reich also has no excuses to not perform well anymore too. Outside of having Andrew Luck, he's been handicapped with poor QBs. He now has the staff that he has chosen, the QB he has chosen, and an owner who has given him all that he needs to succeed. If he doesn't succeed here in Carolina, he may never get a chance at a HC gig anymore in the future.

Maybe Simmons is a bust, but I also don't trust the Cardinals to develop players. Hassan Reddick is an example, some of their draft picks have gone on to have stable careers outside of Arizona.
-
Kind of ironic how Indy sees his value as a 1st round pick but also won't give him a new contract? Tough times to be a RB.

I think the frustration with this team is not winning or losing in the preseason but more about how the team is performing. This team just looks unorganized and undisciplined, that doesn’t matter if it’s preseason or not. You need to execute no matter what. I don’t mind losing as long as we look like we are competing on the field, 2 games in preseason and we just look terrible

If he can find contact, dude whiffed pretty hard on that near TD run and gave up afterwards. Steve Smith was pretty critical of Jammie on that play.

All eyes on the OL in Practice today
CarolinaRideorDie replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fitt out here measuring each OL's arm length, oh wait that was last regime's standards, or was it...? -
If I remember correctly, I think they had Mingo starting ahead of TMJ. It was Chark, Theilan, and then Mingo. Does this say more about how good Mingo is or how bad TMJ is?

Been waiting for this... BY on QB School
CarolinaRideorDie replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our WRs will be a problem if they don't step up quick! It's already been mentioned in this short video how some of them don't even know how to run routes or there is miscommunication. Bryce absolutely needs a veteran WR to help him, I think he will rely on Theilan quite a bit. -
Official Jets at Panthers Game Day Thread!
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
It may be preseason but damn, this team just shows poor execution and energy. Can't talk about being competitive when you're not even competitive in a preseason game. As the commentators mentioned earlier "no talent needed, just execution." -
Football is back (well, preseason anyway)
CarolinaRideorDie replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Addition by subtraction. And we significantly added by subtracting Rhule. Our team played better once he was gone, I have a lot of confidence in our new staff this year. I honestly expect a .500 season or better and I don't think that's unrealistic! -
So you're saying that we have a QB that can actually get passes to our players now? Our receiving core aren't just incompetent from the past 5 years? Hmmmm....I guess a franchise QB makes a big difference?
-
Actually quite ingenious to get the attention of the players to come talk to you! All the hollering and yelling for an autograph doesn't get their attention, but wearing enemy colors do. And maybe the dude is a closet Panthers fan?
-
This is very similar to what Matt Corral is going through currently. Sure he was drafted by Fitt but under the Rhule regime. He got hurt, didn't get a chance to prove himself, drafted his replacement and now he is fighting for a backup job. Right time, right place, right opportunity absolutely matters in the NFL and it's unfortunate that a lot these players don't have any say in their career.

Of course I will always take a playmaker QB over a playmaker WR, a great QB will have more impact than a great WR. Young played lights out with Jameson Williams and Metchie during his sophomore year and he continued to play well his junior year despite throwing to nobodies. Our current WR room is unproven outside of Theilan and I hope they just haven't been able to prove themselves because of poor QB play, I hope someone steps up this year. It's time for Terrace and Leviska to show up or get out!

You're pointing out individual games that a receiver was shutdown, look at their season in it's entirety where they put up numbers and contributed to their team. Stud receivers are "game changers," they may not dominate every single game of the entire season but they make you game plan for them. No one on the Panthers WR needs to be game planned for, this makes it easier to shut down our offense.
-
I think the biggest question mark about our WR room is that we don't have an alpha to take over games. Sure maybe we can spread the ball around but you need a clutch receiver to make the big plays when it matters most too. Allen without Diggs is nothing, Kirk without Jefferson is nothing, Mahomes without Kelce is above average. Even Rodgers without WRs is mediocre this past year and Rodgers is a HOF QB.

When you've been suffocating for so long, even a breath of fart is welcome! We've been suffering for too long with poor coaching and QB play, I understand the enthusiasm.

I wasn't living in NC during the inauguration of the Panthers, but how did the organization settle on a panther as our mascot?

Hornets Signing LaMelo Ball to Max Extension

Money talks, and I’m not talking about the website. -
Because they are dorks lol

LOL!!! Seems like we have few Miller supporters! People who dislike the Miller pick think that he is a good prospect, but we just think Scoot is the BETTER prospect!

Ok, my point is that the Hornets fail to identify these great college players that actually succeed in the NBA. All hornets have ever drafted are successful NCAA players that busted! I lack trust in this organization and they have yet to prove me wrong.
