  1. His footwork in the pocket has improved, he's using his eyes more down field to move defenders and he's challenging defenses more with his legs so dlineman can't put their hands up and lose leverage as much anymore. I feel like he was afraid or coached not to run last year or schematically put in back positions where he didnt have flexibility in the pocket (majority of snaps in shotgun, bad run schemes)
  2. I've heard Canales mention that he wants a defense that can get Turnovers and be aggressive. Evero's defense is not that by design. It's a bend don't break that limits yardage but as we've seen this year and even last year, doesn't necessarily mean we're a good scoring defense. I want a more aggressive defense that teams fear. Our best defenses were FEARED. Aint nobody fearing an Evero defense If Evero does end up leaving, I imagine that's the type of D Coord we'd get.
  3. the draft is both predictable and unpredictable. a lot can change from now until april. undisclosed injuries discovered, measurables not living up, deeper tape study on these prospects. Every year some guys move up the ladder and go down. so anything is possible!
  4. He was awful, but at the same time based on what ive seen and his mentality, he looks like he's gonna learn from this. Seems like he's also trying a lot of stuff while we don't really have the roster to compete for playoffs.
  5. we've been the raiders all season. in fact the raiders were us.
  6. Charles Harris jogging. This guy has not impressed in any way, shape, or form. Dude is coasting.
  7. don't watch this game if you want to see any good tackling.. by either team
  8. I mean we're not a good team but at least the offense is watchable. Looking forward to seeing some of the young guys get coached up throughout the season. This team is not a 1 season fix. But at least we're looking more competitive than week 1.
  9. Burrow out here playing madden on the easiest difficulty tricking the AI to go in circles.
  10. Kinda expected this tbh. Our d is not very good. No pass rush. No safeties. Our Cornerbacks are our best unit and they can't cover for the amount of time our pass rush gives any decent team. Our O gotta play aggressive because our D can't do jack.
  11. Some part of me thinks Canales stayed up all night collecting definitive evidence to show Dipper everything that needed to be known about benching Bryce and proving it's a Bryce problem and not a scheme or personnel problem.
  12. Some of y'all have an image of Justin Fields that I just don't see I guess. He hasn't really done anything extraordinary other than be a QB we didn't draft. If he were putting up CJ Stroud level of numbers and leading the Bears to the playoffs then I'd get it.. But he's been on an equally abysmal team who has drafted just as poorly. Just don't see how he could elevate us when he couldn't elevate the Bears.
  13. From the looks of it, both of our coordinators will be gone in 2 years with how hot they are on the rise. It will be a true testament to see if Frank Reich can prove himself to be Belichick and Andy Reid vs Ron Rivera in that regard.
  14. browns realizing they just gotta use their RBs. Something McAdoodoo can't figure out
  15. The idea is that measurables can make up for bad technique since snap to snap you can have inconsistency with technique due to a variety of moves a defense can make. If that extra 1-2 inches can keep a defender off your qb when in an unfavorable position, all the better. It's like QBs that can launch it despite having guys draped over them.
  16. Something Rhule said during the press conf today was that he wants supreme athletes who can put it on tape. Fitt also said their criteria for trading down was if the value didn't match the player that was at the top of their board at the time (or something to that extent). They weren't afraid to miss out on a player if they felt the value of trading down got them a net positive. That said, if you look at our draft history for the past 20 years.. It's pretty obvious which drafts got people fired. https://www.panthers.com/history/draft There's a few drafts in there that look straight embarrassing in retrospect. From 2011, only Cam made it past year 2. 2011 draft screwed us hard in 2014 where normally a lot of those players would be on a contract year. We stumbled but luckily other teams in our division stumbled worse. We lucked out. What this says is if you're picking players that are not even good for depth, then you're not going to run a successful team in the long term. A once in a generation player can pull your team higher but not as high if the base talent level of the team isn't that great. Rhule wants guys who already have powerful self-motivation and drive to be better and great. All these guys have something to prove and have a chip on their shoulder and want to beast on people. These aren't quiet guys who fade away like many of those draft picks of the past that disappear after 3 years. (We Hope) All in all, so far I think we're getting players to set the tone for the team. We may not be addressing needs aggressively or protecting the Darnold at all costs.. but we're getting guys who will buy in because they want to succeed too. Whether or not that actually works out is yet to be seen. We won't know until their Rookie contracts are up or they get cut in year 2.
