Why do we have negative Nancy’s about trading for #1?
GOAT replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
This site is a beautiful reminder that nothing will ever be perfect. We won't ever all agree on something. And that's life. I can see it now, it's 11pm EST Super Bowl evening - Stroud is raising the Lombardi. I'm on the huddle 30 beers deep...and what do you know - someone comments "most boring super bowl ever lol" "that's the only one we'll get until blah blah blah". -
So... Common Sense Says We're Drafting Stroud... Right????
GOAT replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
man I was dead wrong. Yup Vegas has it at -350 for Stroud to go to the Panthers. -
I forgot that the NFL / ESPN / Script Writers in general LOVE a dude with some adversity to win the SB. The short thing is great, he'll overcome it. What does CJ have? Oh he went to Ohio State? Yeah, crazy adversity there.

ENDS CAPS I have been all in on Stroud, but now - after this trade...I think it's all for Bryce Young. He's got that magic, that magic you need to win a Super Bowl. And that's all that matters folks. He interviews really well, seems genuine and positive af, his parents are always in the crowd cheering him on. It's Disney channel man. We're due for another short king in the NFL, Kyler fumbled the bag. Bryce is also a hardcore man of faith, just like Reich. These two together are gonna bring the holiness back to Charlotte and deliver a Lombardi from the heavens above. (oh and they're gonna trade Corral for a ham sammich so he can have #9)

I'm really trying not to insult your intelligence on something like this, but can you maybe grasp that the other team has to agree to that sort of trade? Like oh the Panthers should've just forced the Bengals WHO ARE ALSO WANTING A QB trade us the number one pick so we could draft Burrow? Really? Play a lot of Madden or something? Do you live in the past about everything in life? Can't rewind the past. The Panthers just traded up to the first pick for THIS YEARS DRAFT. Wake up.

My player comp for Levis is the right handed version of what ESPN wanted Tim Teebow to be.

Ian Rapoport: Panthers likely to have interest in Jimmy Garoppolo
GOAT replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jimmy's a Raider. It's a win win for us. -
of course I did lol, after that comment "guys that look like Levis". judging a dude by the color of his skin. that's what I didn't want this thread to turn into like I mentioned in the OP. but there it is. oh and just to reiterate - Fields will be a back up by 2026, book it.
-
wdym look like Levis? and yeah, the Bears are in a terrible spot right now with Fields.
-
haters be like "Will Levis has no pocket awareness" the pocket:
-
Richardson's legs were Florida's offense. Dude was running out there with 5 stars. Levis runs when he has to like an NFL QB, because it's an NFL offense. And his offensive line was made up of the college equivalents to Mike Remmers, Byron Bell and Nate Chandler.
-
NFL stands for "Not For Long". That's what I've learned watching for years. Wentz got injured, watched his back up hoist the trophy, lost all his coordinators, and the rest is history. Very rarely do players have long successful careers. There's no way on earth to predict it happening or not.

I'm just trying to help all of you accept what's about to happen

Ryan Poles trying to drive up the cost of the #1 pick
GOAT replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns isn't going anywhere. He is currently the face of our franchise, he's a solid young DE that gets better every year, and he was a determining factor for some of the new coaches joining our team. If you think he's an option to be traded, I really can't help you. -
Ian Rapoport: Panthers likely to have interest in Jimmy Garoppolo
GOAT replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt Jimmy comes here, but also like the more competent QB's we have the better. You saw last year what it's like with injuries and poor QB play. Not fun. Nice to have options if something unpredictable happens. -
I love when people try to compare him to Wentz like it's a bad thing. Wentz was a fugging 2nd team all pro, pro bowler, OROY / MVP candidate before he got hurt. Who was his coach?
-
Okay maybe it's more so just the people on twitter that hate on Levis. The people in this thread seem positive about the pros and cons. This dude on twitter is insufferable, he tweets about Levis every few minutes. Has Hooker ranked above him. It's really weird but I also know deep down what his shtick is.
-
I've debated making this thread because it can go a few different directions, directions I'm really not trying to steer this conversation to. Also, if I've learned anything about discussing opinions on the internet - it's that you're never going to change someone's mind. Levis has been a top QB prospect since last season. Our owner is enamored by him. Reports indicate that Levis is one of our top rated QB's. Levis looked the part and threw very well at the combine. Levis has been in an NFL style offense for the last two seasons. His first coach went on to be the Rams OC, and he adjusted to working with another pro style play caller but with obviously diminished numbers. Levis has no 5 stars running round him. No offensive line. Think of the Panthers offense while Cam was here, in college form. That's the Wildcat's. Is he raw? Yeah, he definitely can use some coaching. He can definitely use some weapons, and definitely could use a line. The basics. I believe with the right staff / situation, Levis will flourish and have the best pro career out of all of these QB's. Now, where the fug is all this hate towards him coming from? I'm seeing it everywhere, here, twitter, any comment section. "Dude is trash" "If the Panthers draft Levis I'm done" People ranking prospects like AR above him. AR is a huge project too with inconsistent tape, playing with a way better supporting cast. Okay, he ran fast and jumped high at the combine. Why does this catapult him over Levis? Levis reminds me of Josh Allen, both his college tape and the pre-draft hate he's receiving. What is causing this baseless hate? Might want to start actually watching this guys tape rather than hating on him for whatever weird reason, or because you have some draft crush on another prospect like AR, or because he puts mayo in his coffee. Levis might very well be the Panthers next QB, and like I said above - with this staff? Best possible scenario all around.

I stated a fact and then my opinion. Relax.
