  1. Anyone doubt Giants fans aren't looking at their schedule and saying the same thing about the Panthers at this moment? Bottom line: Two not so good teams struggling to somehow make themselves relevant while staring into the abyss.
  2. 32 teams had every opportunity to sign Cam to a contract last year and the one team that eventually did, did so at a huge discount. The Patriots then decided to part ways with Cam after one season, in favor of a rookie QB. That's reality. Cam is no longer considered a franchise QB. You want to believe Cam would make a significant difference for a Panthers team in disarray? Go right ahead. History says otherwise.
  3. You are are apparently only seeing what you want to see. My point was that bringing Cam in won't result in any appreciable difference from what we are experiencing at the moment. He is no longer the QB he once was, he isn't superman and the current team has many of the same issues the worst Panthers teams had during Cam's prime. At time when even with all Cam's talent, he only achieved three winning seasons. Again, this whole conversation is ridiculous in the extreme. The Panthers won't be bringing Cam on board to save them for a myriad of reasons. Not the least of which is the current management are the same people that decided to release Cam two years ago. Eventually, even his most devout fans will have to come to terms with that reality. Time to let go of the past.
  4. Who knew quality corners were so easy to find, while quality linemen were so difficult? Might have wanted to approach the draft a little differently, all things considered.
  5. He'd do well to go on a diet and workout more. Not only would it improve his overall health, it would be a good example for the players.
  6. So stating facts is "throwing shade"? The subject of the thread is bringing back Cam to Carolina because the current QB is struggling to lead this team to victory and that Cam would be more exciting. Would Cam make things more exciting? In his prime most definitely, without a doubt. If that were the situation we were dealing with today, I'd be leading the parade to get him back here. Reality is, Cam is a only shadow of what he once was. During Cam's final years here, it was painful to watch him struggle. There was nothing in Cam's performance as a Patriot last year that would suggest he'd be capable of coming back to Carolina and turning things around with our porous offensive line and terrible play calling. We should also realize this idea of Cam returning is nothing more than a fantasy. Not even sure why I'm bothering to attempt to talk reason to those who are clearly unreasonable.
  7. Regardless, that only accounts for one year out of nine. Today's offensive line is obviously horrendous. One of the all time worst in franchise history. Cam would not thrive behind this line. 3 winning seasons out of 9. Cam is no longer the Superman many still believe him to be.
  8. And yet he only managed three winning seasons. Was his talent wasted? Yes, but the things that held him back in Carolina are still an issue today. Most notably the offensive line and crappy play calling. Yes, Cam was incredible in his day. He is not the dominant QB he once was and his super powers were his ability to run like a fullback and throw like a rocket launcher. Today's Cam is not that guy. He is a shadow of what he once was. Cherish the memories, but it is time to move on.
  9. Not far fetched at all. You're quibbling about two of the worst offensive lines in Carolina's history. Sufficive to say, Cam would not thrive behind either line. How do I know? Cam in his prime was our QB for almost a decade, he couldn't win behind a porous offensive line then, what has changed that would enable him to do it now? There is no reason to believe today's Cam is better than the one who played for the Panthers in his prime and numerous reasons to believe he isn't. What is far fetched? Believing that today's Cam is capable of doing what Cam in his prime could not do.
  10. 3 winning seasons out of 9. Cam is not turning this team around with this offensive line. He is not the QB he was a decade ago, not even close.
  11. Cam played for Carolina in his prime and managed a grand total of 3 winning seasons out of 9. Cam is no longer in his prime. The Panthers are still a hot mess, especially the offensive line. Cam's fans routinely explained away his failure to win by blaming Carolina's terrible offensive line. None of those lines were any worse than what the Panthers fielded today. Stop torturing yourselves. Cam playing w/this team would result in pretty much the same outcome, another losing season.
  12. Cam is coming back to Carolina... to retire as a Panther. Cherish the good times. Stages of grief:
  13. It is a race to the bottom between those two. Gettleman is on thin ice and I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone before the end of the season. Hurney likely has more time, but you know it's coming in the not too distant future.
  14. If that happens, recommend the name of Carolina Huddle be changed to Carolina Huddle 24/7/365 Draft Forum. Because that is what it has primarily been for the last 4 years. TL/DR: Support Truth in Advertising
  15. When a team fails in all facets of the game it is time to start looking at the coaching staff.
  16. Too bad Panthers didn't bring in a veteran backup for Darnold like many here thought we should.
  17. If the Panthers had provided Darnold half decent protection they might have stood a chance at rehabbing Sam this season. With our Jets caliber line the Panthers have likely destroyed whatever chance Sam had of turning things around this season. Darnold might yet still be salvageable, but he likely needs to be benched and relegated to backup duty for the rest of the season. Rhule and Fitterer appear to have gambled and lost (screwed the pooch) on this one.
  18. There is a reason Cam is sitting at home on the couch. Having said that, he would be a lot more entertaining than what we're witnessing today.
  19. Hmm, the team looks sloppy and unprepared (again). Note to self: Need to have team lawyer look for an out in Rhule's 7 year contract.
  20. Looks like I'll have to add a few more years to my 5 year rebuild.
