Who do you want as the next head coach?
NanuqoftheNorth replied to Squid Game's topic in Carolina Panthers
We're gonna learn a lot more about Dave Tepper in the next few months. The Panthers don't need to have a winning record, but I'm pretty sure Tepper expects to see a well coached team in year two of the rebuild. Right now, the team looks like a mess out there, in all facets of the game. That doesn't inspire confidence in the coaching staff's abilities. If Tepper decides Rhule isn't living up to the hype, he might find his brass balls and hit the reset button. Rhule's contract is not a LIMFAC for Tepper. -
Are we a more attractive destination for Russell Wilson?

Tampa was essentially a Tom Brady away from contending for a championship. Carolina, not so much. -

Also, no successful QB on the backside of his career wants to spend his Sunday afternoons running for his life on an historically dysfunctional team like the Panthers. They want a soft landing spot like Brady and Stafford received. -

Russell has a ring. I don't have an issue with allowing QBs to have express their ideas to management. However, at the end of the day it is management's job to manage and a coaches job to coach. Russell, Rodgers and Watson have made it clear they want more than to just express themselves, they want control in management/coaching decisions. Not interested in any of them for that reason alone. -
Without the picks.

CMC is a special player, no denying it. However, if he isn't playing the majority of games due to injuries, he's not much use to the team. Panthers need to seriously consider any offers that involve high picks or players in positions of need.

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
NanuqoftheNorth replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team is a train wreck and I hold the coaching staff responsible. If Tepper is smart he'll cut his losses and chock it up to a valuable learning experience. Next time hopefully Dave will hire coaches with NFL experience and a proven track record. Not a group of NFL amateurs. -
Even the Chris Weinke led Panthers were competitive in just about every game losing by an average of a 7 points or less and that team was an historic 1-15 bad. This season's team looks amateurish by comparison. That speaks to lack of proper preparation and that is squarely on the coaching staff.

The correct answer is: A. SD B. TB C. CN D. None of the above

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
NanuqoftheNorth replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
When Teddy publicly criticized Rhule's coaching staff he was a dead QB throwing. The harsh reality of the NFL has humbled Tepper's and Rhule's arrogance today. They may both be smart men, but they aren't NFL smart, not yet anyway. -

Panthers must've been living in a fantasy land believing Stafford would throw away the rest of his career in Carolina after wasting his best years in Detroit. -
Tepper and Rhule making fans long for the days of Richardson and Rivera, says a lot about Tepper and Rhule, and none of it's good.
-
My thought as well. Why Tepper was taking any input from Hurney at that point is puzzling to say the least.
-
Rhule's contract is a drop in the bucket for Tepper. If Dave has even a moderate concern about winning, firing Rhule is an easy decision.

This. -
Rhule has been making bad decisions since he was hired, starting with his choice for OC. His decisions when it comes to the O line and QBs, starting and backup, have only compounded the damage. Time for Tepper to cut bait and bring in a staff led by experienced NFL coaches.
