  1. The Panthers relying more on in-house media frees up these other media sources to provide a more unvarnished truth to their readers. It works for me.
  2. Unless Nixon is some sort of miracle worker this team has got no more than two more wins in them and one of those wins will require Tampa to mail in their last game.
  3. A classic case of addition by subtraction. The more losses, the shorter the Rhuler.
  4. Falcons vs. Panthers AKA: The Cellar Dweller Bowl AKA: The NFCS Amateur Hour Note: No disrespect to the Panthers hard working players and staff who are trapped in the unenvious position of playing/working for a HC that is out of his league.
  5. Mike Shula looks like some sort of professional football genius when compared to the likes of Matt Rhule... and it ain't even close.
  6. Yeah, hoping your team lays a goose egg for the rest of the year is pretty pitiful fandom. That being said, we've got Rhule as HC. If anyone is capable of laying an egg, he's your man.
  7. Can't fault Tepper for trying something different. Dave must have realized Rhule was gonna be a high risk choice. But it is long past time to get serious about winning in Carolina. The Panthers have languished for half decade while Tepper tried to figure it out on his own, without expert NFL consultants. Seriously Dave, bring in a team of top shelf NFL management ASAP to finally clean this train wreck up.
  8. When the Panthers are highly dysfunctional (like they have been for most of this season) the post-game Huddle reactions can be rather entertaining. So, I've got that going for me, which is nice.
  9. Rhule: Who you gonna believe when it comes to the best choice for LT? A ruler or your lyin' eyes?
  10. The OP's video pretty much states what many here already know, Matt Rhule is in over his head and another year isn't going to change that. If he is here in 2022, is there any doubt it will be another wasted season of Panthers football? Dave Tepper took a chance on Matt and it didn't work out. It happens. However, Dave doesn't strike me as someone that would hesitate to terminate any employee once he's convinced that person is a detriment to the organization. If Tepper's facial expressions during Panthers games are any indication...
  11. Dom Capers (Ten year contract) and George Seifert say hi!
  12. I believe that Matt Rhule would have likely been more successful in Carolina had he selected former head coaches as his OC and DC. Rhule clearly needs a mentor or two with NFL head coaching experience. Having said that, the first step to solving a problem is recognizing you have one. Do you think Rhule would admit he needs coaching up? I don't. As a condition of employment, Matt insisted on full control when it came to selecting his own staff and got it. Yeah, Rhule's biggest problem is Matt Rhule.
  13. If Matt has any interest in saving his job, he could do worse than stealing ideas from BB.
  14. I'm not sure that Josh McDaniels is the answer, but I'm pretty sure Rhule isn't.
  15. If this forum only allowed correct opinions to be posted we'd all be banned.
  16. To be fair, Darnold isn't a paycheck chaser. He's already caught his paycheck.
  17. Does it really matter? These sort of decisions aren't made in a vacuum. Presumably the Panthers scouts, Rivera and Hurney discussed draft choices ahead of time. Hurney gets the credit for pulling the trigger, but he likely wouldn't have selected who he did without buy in from Rivera.
  18. Rivera was a well regarded/proven player/NFL DC prior to becoming the Panthers HC. Rhule is a coach who took over a couple of failed mid-tier college programs. He made both competitive prior to jumping ship after three seasons. Matt then demanded total control at the pro level. Rivera's resume was much more robust IMHO. Even so, JR was ready to fire him if not for Hurney taking the fall instead.
  19. Hurney was part of Rivera's problem/shared blame. Rhule demanded and was given the keys to the kingdom. There is no one other than Matt to blame for the team's current situation.
  20. Why would he? Players only have a few years in this league to make their mark. Being a receiver on a dysfunctional team without a viable QB is less than ideal.
  21. This. Initially, I was prepared to let the process play out over the course of several seasons (3) based on Rhule's speech of building from the ground up. It was only after Rhule's failed QB roulette, misguided talk of playoffs and an historically anemic offense that my patience began to run out. The collapse of the Panthers run defense and his Jack of All Trades approach to roster building were the final nails in his coffin.
