  1. Fhule taking Cam out was a big FU to the Panthers and their fans. Dude needs to be packing his stuff up tomorrow morning.
  2. Yeah, tomorrow is promised to no one. Follow the OP's advice and make the most of today! Fortunately, finding something/anything more enjoyable that watching this poor excuse for a NFL team should be a low bar to clear for just about all of us. For instance, I plan on impaling my eyes with two red hot pokers. Granted, it likely won't be much fun, and it might not be much of an improvement over another Sunday of Panthers football, but I know I'll never have to watch Matt Rhule on the sidelines again. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
  3. At this point, the Panthers turnaround begins and ends with Dave Tepper. Until he recognizes his mistake and corrects it, this team is just digging a deeper hole for itself.
  4. Ha ha, so true, but I don't think it is a coincidence that at one time all three of these dysfunctional organizations believed Matt Rhule was the answer to their problems. As a fan, what's mildly infuriating is, Dave Tepper possesses all the financial resources an owner would require in order to build a perennial powerhouse. Yet, instead of finding the best people in the business to run his organization, he decides to prove how much smarter he is than the rest of the league buy hiring a guy with very little NFL experience, then proceeds to give that person total control. Dave's ego has made the process of developing a competitive football team much harder than it has to be.
  5. Yeah, the Jets insisted on input into Rhule's coaching staff and the Giants refused to give Matt such a lucrative contract. Dave, on the other hand, took the road less traveled and that has made all the difference.
  6. It's a tall order for Nixon, no doubt. If he really is an improvement over Brady it begs the question as to why Rhule chose the guy over Nixon to begin with.
  7. Well, we're about to find out what if anything Nixon can do to improve the offense. When it comes to comparing Rhule and Rivera, I'm gonna be more critical of Matt than I was of Ron, simply because Rhule insisted on having total control as a rookie HC. With authority comes responsibility. We once could debate who was responsible between Ron or Marty. Today, there is only one person that is ultimately responsible, that's Matt Rhule.
  8. Yeah, this D has been slipping as the season progresses. Snow is not looking nearly as competent as he once was.
  9. Yeah, we all know this was the mantra for the Panthers this spring, multiple position versatility. Whoever prioritized positional versatility over proficiency is the one who should be held accountable for our O-line. All the problems on offense largely stem from this strategic failure.
  10. Ha, ha, hey, I'm not saying this couldn't happen, but unless you're Dave Tepper there's no way you can "guarantee it". Even so, there are a lot of variables that are out of Dave's and Cam's control.
  11. Hmm, decisions, decisions! There's just something about Temple guys that makes them irresistible to Matt. Whatever could it be?
  12. Don't watch much college ball, but if there's a QB out there that plays multiple positions, chances are Rhule is picking them in the first.
  13. Matt could be the nicest guy on the planet, but he can't coach this team out of a wet paper bag, so he's gotta go.
  14. It isn't an either or proposition. The better OC would have likely resulted in a better QB and O-line
  15. Yeah, emotionally it's a mixed bag for me. For the players and coaches that put in so much work and who often only have a few years in the league we would like to see them be successful. On the other hand, if the HC appears to be out of his element and is holding the team back, the only way forward is his termination. Winning a handful of games at the end of the season isn't going to improve the situation for the team or its fans.
  16. At this point the issue shouldn't even be about draft position. It should be about the coaching staff that is continuously out-coached by our opponents, including Ron "I rarely out-coach anyone, but I did out-coach Matt Rhule" Rivera.
  17. Rhule's downfall will directly stem from his desire to have total control as a first time HC. Had he been supported by experienced NFL coordinators his transition to the pros would have likely been smoother without the poor personnel decisions we've witnessed in his first two years.
  18. If this happens, fans can only hope that Tepper reevaluates his coaching plan going forward.
  19. Also it's not a good look when players are having to prompt the team's "best" coordinator to make basic adjustments to the defense in order to stem the bleeding. This coaching staff needs to go... ASAP.
  20. Pretty sure Carolina ends up winning this game because that would likely help ensure a third season of Rhule and a third season of fan misery. The Panthers always seem to have to do it the hard way.
