  1. Every team in front of the Panthers 8th pick has the potential of trading their pick to another team desperate for a QB. So don't count your chickens before they're hatched.
  2. Every pick is sacred Every pick is great If a pick is wasted Dave gets quite irate
  3. I could now see the Lions trading back with another team looking for a QB and picking up even more draft picks to rebuild their sad team.
  4. Mitch has the needed physical attributes, the question is his decision making. Can our coaching staff make a difference? The world may never know.
  5. Just got off the phone with Marty. He says we should restructure Matt's contract.
  6. Praise science and modern healthcare.
  7. Winning QBs rise to the occasion, Teddy gets more conservative in crucial moments, especially when the game is on the line.
  8. With Teddy is in Rhule's doghouse: If one of the top 4 QBs is still there at #8 gotta believe the Panthers won't hesitate to draft them. Otherwise, trading back and getting Jones would seem like the next best bet. Panthers need an infusion of talent at numerous positions, that makes giving up multiple high draft picks and future pro bowlers for Watson an unlikely scenario.
  9. Panthers QBs will be running for their lives (as often as not) until the O line is properly addressed. Does that sound like an attractive situation for a QB in the final years of his career? It could still happen, but I've gotta believe the Colts or Rams are in the catbird's seat on this one.
  10. Jake Delhomme almost won the Panthers a Super Bowl against Tom Brady if not for variables outside of his control. The OP's Super Bowl list has several QBs that weren't even drafted by their teams. Bottom line: There is more than one way to win a Super Bowl. The QB is only one of countless factors.
  11. Sounds about par for the course when it comes to Hurney. And yes, that would be a fireable offense IMHO.
  12. Appears that Teddy's contract is a huge a millstone around the Panthers neck, at least until the end of next season.
  13. A year from now might be a different story, but at this point why would Stafford choose the Panthers over more playoff ready teams like SF, Miami, Wash, Indy or Pitts?
  14. I doubt that anyone in the Panthers organization believes TB is the long term answer after this season. However, it appears that unless the team trades back and selects Jones we're in for another year of TB at QB.
  15. KC's players and coaches are well known for making adjustments on the fly. Rivera led Panthers, not so much.
  16. Just spent the last decade as a Panthers fan watching our franchise QB get beat to a pulp because of a lack of protection. Do not want to relive those times.
  17. It could happen, but it would likely be the worst case scenario. I'd suspect the Panthers are not taking any of their options off the table at this point.
  18. Pit is a better situation for a QB who requires structure and stability. For the time being, Panthers are still an organization in flux.
  19. This would be Stafford's most likely move IMHO. The Panthers have a lot of issues to address and wouldn't be an optimal choice for a QB on the backside of his career. Not to say there isn't a case to be made for the Panthers promising to rebuilding the O line this off season to attract a QB like Stafford.
  20. This team can't afford to give up draft picks with so many holes to fill. Move back in the draft and get someone like Jones and/or bring in a vet like Stafford to bridge the gap.
  21. Remains to be seen... However, put Stafford behind a decent line w/our weapons and some upgrades on D and I like this team's chances to make some noise in the playoffs.
  22. If this is ultimately the scenario, I'd agree with your course of action.
