  1. I'm agnostic on that. Gonna give the current leadership more time to make their case. The previous leadership of 20 plus years, oh yeah. JR and company started out great and then lost the script somewhere along the way.
  2. Give Bridgewater a decent line and he might again be the capable game manager we saw in New Orleans. The problem is, for whatever reason, Teddy doesn't seem to have a killer instinct when it comes to crunch time and the game is on the line. Not sure you can fix that. Regardless, putting a high priced franchise QB behind a mediocre line isn't gonna bring the Panthers any championships. Look at Seattle.
  3. Something worth remembering for those who believe Watson will singlehandedly deliver the Panthers a Lombardi.
  4. Cam would be well advised to just put people like this kid on ignore.
  5. Build a solid supporting cast and the free agent QB will come. We've tried the "Get the franchise QB and build around him" approach for the last decade and we all saw what that got us. A broken down franchise QB and no championship.
  6. Looks like Blue Light Specials will abound this off season. Gettleman must be champing at the bit.
  7. Shades of the Herschel Walker Trade and we all know how that worked out. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/cowboys/2019/10/12/its-been-30-years-since-the-cowboys-traded-herschel-walker-to-the-vikings-fueling-a-dynasty/
  8. Valid point worth considering before we get too stoked. Panthers aren't out of the woods just yet.
  9. No shame in this. Happens to every player eventually. How many people can say they reached the highest level in their profession? Tre lived the dream.
  10. Well, if nothing else, I suspect Bridgewater's performance got Hurney canned, so we've got that going for us.
  11. Artist's conception of off-season activity at the CH without Scot's contributions...
  12. True. None of us really know how far Tepper is willing to go to get a franchise QB. Just don't want to see the Panthers to end up like the Texans. Watkins surrounded by a dearth of talent, with no cap room and no high draft picks to make needed changes.
  13. This. When it came to the QB position, the best thing the Panthers could have done for 2020 was nothing at all. Unfortunately, doing nothing is sometimes the hardest thing to do, especially if you're GM and your job is on the line.
  14. Yep, another missed opportunity. Other failed attempts: Kerry Collins and David Carr.
  15. If it were just about any team other than the Texans, I'd say they were doing it right by showing a lack of interest in trading their QB. It seems to have only intensified the rumor mill and raised the ante for Watkins in the media.
  16. Breaking News! Tepper wants a franchise QB. What NFL owner doesn't?
  17. This is precisely what has me worried about our new GM. We've potentially jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
  18. ^^^ Can easily imagine Marty saying something like this to Ron and Dan while discussing QB options for the upcoming season.
  19. Hope all is going well in recovery! Must have been a pain in the ass
  20. Yeah, I used to frequent/post on the Observer's Panthers message board back in the day. I seem to recall a poster that wasn't a regular over there started recommending this forum before it was called the Carolina Huddle. I want to say it was Jeremy, but it is too long ago to remember. Ghosted this site for about 5-6 years after that before I broke down and created an account... the rest is history. People occasionally complain about the content, but in all these years I haven't come across another site dedicated to the Carolina Panthers that does it better. Happy Anniversary Jeremy! Thanks for your hard work and dedication!
