There are people Christian's age that have suffered irreversible lung damage due to covid. Also, as was mentioned earlier, if you have family member with a compromised immune system or other medical issues, it would make them more susceptible to covid. These are a few reasons why participating in the 2020 season was left up to each player's discretion.

A year ago there were a lot of unknowns when it came to covid and how the NFL would deal with it. Hopefully Christian has kept himself in shape and is ready to hit the ground running. If not he may be on the outside looking in.

seems like there's a lot of optimism.....
NanuqoftheNorth replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Doesn't seem it would be enjoyable to have a negative outlook about your favorite team prior to OTAs and pre-season. Love the changes we've witnessed in the last few weeks and believe they'll result in a more competitive team. Playoffs are a real possibility. Darnold is capable of all QB throws and flashed moments of brilliance as a Jet. As a Panther he's now surrounded by talented players. What Sam lacks is consistency and the coaching staff believes they can fix that. We've also signed/drafted O/D linemen and a shutdown corner. As Panthers fans, how can we NOT be positive about all that? Bottom line: Time will tell, but until then, call me Mary Sunshine! -
The Golden Calf of Bristol should've made this position move a decade ago. Oh well, low risk move for the Jaguars that will draw additional attention to their small market team.

Panthers are building something for the ages. Stay the course, full steam ahead.

Every Teams Biggest Steal From The 2021 NFL Draft

I predict Deonte will have the biggest impact on the Panthers! -
His parents must be crushed by this news. One more year at university and Kevin Thomson could have completed his doctorate degree in Footballology. Bottom line: Stay in school kids.

Those expecting the Saints to collapse now that Brees is gone may be for a surprise. Yeah Brees was one of the best QB's in the league, but we also know that Teddy took over for him and did rather well for a stretch of 5 games or so. Bottom line: Saints are a talented team, don't sell them short.

We used to call this place Bowater back in the 1970's. If the wind was just right you'd get a rotten egg smell in the air for days at a time in the Providence Rd/Sharon Amity area of Charlotte. It wasn't long before enough public/government pressure was put on the company to install scrubbers on their stacks. Air quality improved dramatically after that. Can't believe people are having to deal with this issue again, 50 years later.

What is this need by some supposed "Panthers fans" to belittle our new QB (not to mention our coach and GM) prior his first game for the team? I simply don't understand it. Hope Fields does well in Chicago, but he won't have any bearing on the future of our franchise. Just like the hundreds of other players the Panthers didn't select in this draft.

Scott Fitterer: We want Sam Darnold to just flush what's happened
NanuqoftheNorth replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ron is an old school smash mouth football coach and he has some sort of ongoing bromance with Hurney, The Consistently Incompetent One. If we knew then what we know now, we would have realized Cam was doomed from the start. He was sacrificed at the the cross roads of Smash Mouth Ave and Consistently Incompetent St. -

Trey Wingo and Tony Pauline on Panthers draft class

Of course getting to the Super Bowl is extraordinarily difficult, getting back is even more so with every opponent looking to knock off the champs. However, Tampa has taken the first important step in their goal of returning to the championship game: ... the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' main task during the off-season was to 'keep the band together,' which they accomplished in unprecedented fashion. All 22 starting players who took the field against the Chiefs will be back in action in Florida next season. The likes of TE Rob Gronkowski, MLB Lavonte David, WR Antonio Brown and RB Leonard Fournette (and many more) all signed back on for another crack at the Super Bowl, with QB Tom Brady at the helm. https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers-draft-picks-2021-who-buccaneers-pick-full-list-selections -
Scott Fitterer: We want Sam Darnold to just flush what's happened
NanuqoftheNorth replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm for giving Sam a chance to show what he's capable of doing when surrounded with other talented players. Most of us realize Teddy wasn't comfortable taking chances and that resulted in a record of 0-8 when we had an opportunity to win in the closing minutes. Sam can make all the throws and hasn't been shy about taking chances and/or improvising on the fly. For sure, Darnold needs to be more consistent, but if our coaching staff can help him make better reads/decisions we could finally have our franchise QB. -
True. Didn't think about it, but Buffalo is another good comparison for the Panthers.

Choo, choo Chuba! -
Side note: I do appreciate that both our previous GMs are still employed. It gives Panthers fans a way to gauge our own team's progress.

Nah, that's ^^^ the WFT scouting dept shuffling. This is the Panthers Scouting dept...

We've always heard using FA to set up the draft
NanuqoftheNorth replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I have great hope that this team has finally turned a corner when it comes to creating depth on the roster. I'd like to see the Panthers implement a "next man up" approach when someone gets injured without there being a serious drop off in talent level. -
I'm pretty sure Horn is a cyborg, do they even need cell phones?
