CMC is a special player, no denying it. However, if he isn't playing the majority of games due to injuries, he's not much use to the team. Panthers need to seriously consider any offers that involve high picks or players in positions of need.

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
NanuqoftheNorth replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team is a train wreck and I hold the coaching staff responsible. If Tepper is smart he'll cut his losses and chock it up to a valuable learning experience. Next time hopefully Dave will hire coaches with NFL experience and a proven track record. Not a group of NFL amateurs. -
Even the Chris Weinke led Panthers were competitive in just about every game losing by an average of a 7 points or less and that team was an historic 1-15 bad. This season's team looks amateurish by comparison. That speaks to lack of proper preparation and that is squarely on the coaching staff.

The correct answer is: A. SD B. TB C. CN D. None of the above

When Teddy publicly criticized Rhule's coaching staff he was a dead QB throwing. The harsh reality of the NFL has humbled Tepper's and Rhule's arrogance today. They may both be smart men, but they aren't NFL smart, not yet anyway. -

Panthers must've been living in a fantasy land believing Stafford would throw away the rest of his career in Carolina after wasting his best years in Detroit. -
Tepper and Rhule making fans long for the days of Richardson and Rivera, says a lot about Tepper and Rhule, and none of it's good.

My thought as well. Why Tepper was taking any input from Hurney at that point is puzzling to say the least.

Rhule's contract is a drop in the bucket for Tepper. If Dave has even a moderate concern about winning, firing Rhule is an easy decision.

This. -
Rhule has been making bad decisions since he was hired, starting with his choice for OC. His decisions when it comes to the O line and QBs, starting and backup, have only compounded the damage. Time for Tepper to cut bait and bring in a staff led by experienced NFL coaches.

This has to be said: Cam Newton is vaccinated and available
NanuqoftheNorth replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
32 teams had every opportunity to sign Cam to a contract last year and the one team that eventually did, did so at a huge discount. The Patriots then decided to part ways with Cam after one season, in favor of a rookie QB. That's reality. Cam is no longer considered a franchise QB. You want to believe Cam would make a significant difference for a Panthers team in disarray? Go right ahead. History says otherwise. -

You are are apparently only seeing what you want to see. My point was that bringing Cam in won't result in any appreciable difference from what we are experiencing at the moment. He is no longer the QB he once was, he isn't superman and the current team has many of the same issues the worst Panthers teams had during Cam's prime. At time when even with all Cam's talent, he only achieved three winning seasons. Again, this whole conversation is ridiculous in the extreme. The Panthers won't be bringing Cam on board to save them for a myriad of reasons. Not the least of which is the current management are the same people that decided to release Cam two years ago. Eventually, even his most devout fans will have to come to terms with that reality. Time to let go of the past. -
Coaching staff should be on the hot seat

Who knew quality corners were so easy to find, while quality linemen were so difficult? Might have wanted to approach the draft a little differently, all things considered.
