Nailed it.

This is my understanding as well. Hopefully, since that time, many years ago, Tepper has gained more insight into judging who is and isn't NFL Head Coach material.

Doesn't matter where Rhule goes, he just can't stay here.

How does a team just keep getting worse and worse?
NanuqoftheNorth replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not ready to give up on Tepper. He doesn't seem to have a problem with spending what it takes to try and build a winner. Yeah, it seems pretty certain he messed up this time with Rhule. We all make mistakes, NFL owners aren't an exception. The question is: What's Tepper's next move to fix this mess? Hopefully he hires an outside consultant ASAP to find the Panthers next HC. -
Sorry drama kings, firing Matt wouldn't mean the Panthers had become the new Browns. Tepper chose an unconventional route when he hired Matt Rhule. It didn't work out. There was always a risk of that happening. Now it's time to find an experienced NFL staff with a record of success to lead this team. Please Dave, hire an highly regarded NFL consultant to conduct your next search, Marty Hurney ain't it.

Hopefully Tepper has come to realize this as well. Sucks that we are only two years into a 7 year contract, but it is, what it is. Keeping Rhule for a third year would only make the situation that much worse. Sayonara Matt

Why would anyone want to retain the services of the creator of this failed experiment? They wouldn't. Matt has to go.

This guy is likely more upset about the loss than the Cowboys players themselves. Football players that were handsomely paid, win or lose, and returned to their McMansions where they enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast with their family and friends never giving this irate fan a moments passing thought. Meanwhile, this Cowboy fan is behaving like a child and insulting the only people that cared enough to ask him to dinner. Tragic

5 major factors blame for loss. Cat Crave

Yeah, that is entirely possible. The question David Tepper has to be asking himself after every game these days is: Does Matt have what it takes to be and NFL HC? -

Rhule will undoubtably make a case as to why he should be retained beyond this season. As to whether David Tepper is willing to grant Matt another year or two to figure out his job as HC is another matter entirely. -

It is becoming obvious. Now the question is: Does Tepper pull the plug on Rhule and his staff after year two or do fans get to suffer through a third year of this mess before the inevitable? -
As a fan I don't require nor do I expect full disclosure from the Panthers HC. What I do expect is competency from Rhule and his staff. Unfortunately, that seems to be in short supply ATM.

How often could Panthers fans say Rivera outcoached his opponent? I honestly can't recall a time other than yesterday.

Who knew there were jobs that pay ten million a year while you're going through on the job training?
-
Tepper by all accounts is a smart guy, but it appears that he's making many of the typical mistakes of a new owner. Hopefully, his next coaching staff will have extensive experience and success at the NFL level.

Brady isn't ready for prime time. Somebody needs to give him an early offseason.

Sam will be an excellent player
NanuqoftheNorth replied to TLGPanthersFan's topic in Carolina Panthers
When Jim Plunkett came to the Oakland Raiders in 1978, he was beaten up physically and beaten down mentally after seven seasons with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers. Nobody who saw him would have believed that he would quarterback the Raiders to two Super Bowl victories in the coming seasons. Managing General Partner Al Davis signed Plunkett and told him to simply take care of himself for a while and he didn’t even practice with the team at first because they were set at quarterback with Kenny “The Snake” Stabler and David Humm. https://www.si.com/nfl/raiders/the-black-hole-plus/jim-plunkett-nfl-los-angeles-raiders-al-davis-tom-flores -

NanuqoftheNorth replied to TLGPanthersFan's topic in Carolina Panthers
After his years as a NYJ Sam required an extended rehabilitation, preferably with a team where he could sit behind an accomplished veteran for a year or more. Darnold may never put it all together mentally, but expecting him to turn it around in the span of one training camp was never realistic. He needed the Jim Plunkett treatment. A QB who was in the league for 16 seasons and had his greatest success in his final 8 years as a Raider after sitting behind Ken Stabler. -
Suspect a Cam led Panthers would have prevented the Pats from having their 5 game win streak.
