  1. Possibly just weeks. Since becoming the Panthers owner Dave has been adding to his fortune at a rate of over a billion dollars per year. Hiring and firing is just the cost of doing business. REAL TIME NET WORTH. $15.8B. as of 11/29/21. David Tepper, arguably the greatest hedge fund manager of his generation, has been steadily returning money... https://www.forbes.com › profile › david-tepper
  2. Teddy might have been the best of the bunch, but that's not anything to crow about. I wanna say he had like 8 opportunities to win late in games last season and failed every time. I'd hate to witness Fields or Jones in this offense. It would be like having flashbacks to Carr in Houston's offense or Darnold playing for the Jets. Hate to watch rookie talent not only wasted, but ruined by their terribly coached teams. And make no mistake, the Panthers are a terribly coached team.
  3. I seriously don't think it would have made much of a difference who was the QB this season. The play calling is questionable at best. The OC seems to be out of his depth and unable to learn from his mistakes. The O line is in shambles most weeks and receivers aren't where they're supposed to be and when they are, they're dropping catchable passes.
  4. Perhaps Tepper is that tight with his organization's money. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Not much longer until the Panthers season will be coming to an end. At that point Tepper will have a decision to make when it comes to Rhule.
  5. I wonder whose decision it was to get rid of Teddy? Have we decided not to hold people accountable for their decisions?
  6. As far as Rhule's contract, it simply shouldn't make a big difference in Tepper's decision making process. The amount of money we're talking about amounts to almost nothing in terms of Tepper's net worth.
  7. What is it that anyone has seen up to this point that indicates Rhule will finally figure it all out if he's given more time/another season? I'm just not seeing anything that suggests Rhule is growing into his job as a head coach. Quite the contrary in fact, it appears to me that this team and Rhule are regressing.
  8. Yeah, this can't be anything close to what Tepper imagined would happen when he swept in a paid a record amount to a college coach from a mid-tier football school. He's got to be pissed with himself. Hopefully Dave is already taking steps to rectify the situation.
  9. This speaks volumes about the current state of our franchise.
  10. Rhule appears to be a personable guy with a wealth of football knowledge compared to 99% of Americans. I can absolutely see where Matt could've charmed the socks off of our owner and Marty Hurney. Especially in a situation where multiple teams viewed Rhule as a hot commodity. However, I'm hard pressed to recall any game during these last two years where I was left with the impression that Rhule had out coached his opponent. Frankly, he no longer comes across like the smartest guy in the room. Especially when compared with his NFL peers/opponents.
  11. Rhule has gone through several QBs during these two seasons and thrown everyone of them under the bus. It's gotten so bad that Rhule is now gonna need a second bus.
  12. Earlier this year Belichick, the NFL's winningest active Head Coach, chose to retain Cam for a second season. The Patriots must have seen something positive in Cam. Yeah, he isn't what he once was (who is?) but he's not "done" either. Did Cam have a bad day at the office? Sure, it happens. If you're the new guy still learning his way around, have a lousy boss and a lot of underperforming coworkers, chances are you are going to have some bad days at work. Also, as long as football remains a team sport, there'll be plenty of blame to go around. Today was no exception. Of course, Cam can play better, but he was never going to be able to turn the Panthers season around all by himself.
  13. I'm buying what you're selling, but almost any rookie QB would be flailing under the current coaching staff. The only silver lining might be Rhule and company won't get a chance to destroy another QB's future with the Panthers.
  14. How many QBs have to fail in Brady's offense before someone in charge comes to the realization that Brady might be a big part of the problem?
  15. This. I believe the wheels have fallen off. Now I'm just waiting on the car to catch fire and burn to the ground.
  16. The topic is Cam's last 10 starts for the Panthers. Cam has managed several wins as a starter for the Patriots. The current Panthers coaching staff is a mess, the previous Panthers coaching staff was a mess. Cam may not be the hero we're looking for, but the Panthers won't be consistent winners until the current coaching staff is replaced with proven NFL professionals.
  17. Anyone that believes Cam is the reason this team is losing every week hasn't been paying attention.
  18. Just to be clear, the title of this thread couldn't be more misleading. Tepper isn't losing a dime by owning the Panthers, the team is a money making machine that provides Dave with a means to literally write off hundreds of millions of dollars each year (billions over time). It is a sweet deal for owners. https://nypost.com/2017/10/11/nfl-owners-have-made-millions-off-obscure-tax-break/
  19. Tepper is using his purchase price of the Carolina Panthers as a tax write off. Meanwhile, NFL franchises continue to grow in value. Dave is reducing his overall tax hit and laughing all the way to the bank. https://www.propublica.org/article/the-billionaire-playbook-how-sports-owners-use-their-teams-to-avoid-millions-in-taxes
  20. Rhule might have done better as Panthers HC had he surrounded himself with successful NFL coaches who had years of experience. Instead, he was giving the keys to the kingdom and chose to surrounded himself relative newbs like himself.
  21. TBH Brady is already getting schooled each week by whatever team we're playing.
  22. To be honest, all Tepper has to have learned in the interim is that he should hire a highly regarded NFL consultant to find the next head coach, rather than relying on his gut instinct or people like Marty Hurney.
