  1. I like your chances of winning those bets. Panthers have a decent D and the O looks to be better than what most #1 QB picks have to work with. - Winning the division appears to be eminently achievable. Broncos could have a big turn around this season with new talent surrounding Wilson, but they still have to compete with the Chiefs and Chargers. - Toss-up.
  2. You ain't seen nothin' yet. Here's, somethin', here's somethin' you never will forget. Year 3 when he wants a new contract.
  3. Bryce and AR have some very tempting attributes, but no other QB checks all the boxes like CJ Stroud. He appears to be the lowest risk pick with a high, if not highest, level of reward.
  4. Rhule, the prince of platitudes. Wonder if Nebraska is having buyer's remorse yet?
  5. Will the Panthers overthink this decision? Will they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Will this be the Panthers Matty Ice moment? Panthers please don't screw this #1 pick up!
  6. Yeah, trying to choose between one of these top two QBs could possibly drive some people crazy! How much longer until the draft?
  7. From the way Fitterer was talking today about not wanting divas on the team, it's a fair bet he doesn't either.
  8. ESPN speculative piece "Panthers might sign" repeated by some rando guy with a twitter account. Wouldn't be upset if it happens though.
  9. NEW YORK (AP) — Lance Reddick, a character actor who specialized in intense, icy and possibly sinister authority figures on TV and film, including “The Wire,” “Fringe” and the “John Wick” franchise, has died. He was 60. Reddick died “suddenly” Friday morning, his publicist Mia Hansen said in a statement, attributing his death to natural causes. No further details were provided. Wendell Pierce, Reddick’s co-star on “The Wire” paid tribute on Twitter. “A man of great strength and grace,” he wrote. “As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class.” “John Wick — Chapter Four” director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves said they were dedicating the upcoming film to Reddick and were “deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss.” Reddick was often put in a suit or a crisp uniform during his career, playing tall, taciturn and elegant men of distinction. He was best known for his role as straight-laced Lt. Cedric Daniels on the hit HBO series “The Wire,” where his character was agonizingly trapped in the messy politics of the Baltimore police department. https://apnews.com/article/lance-reddick-dies-f088c69b89de428bef8240f8aaa3c20e
  10. I've come to terms with Young or Stroud and can make a case for either one. If the Panthers could put Young's brain in Stroud's body we'd have the best of both worlds. As it is, Young's mastery of the game could make him the most entertaining QB in Panthers history. Biggest concern is size and durability. Panthers could be back in the market for a franchise QB in less than 5 years. Stroud is less entertaining, but his throwing motion is pristine. CJ could end up being the best throwing QB in Panthers history. CJ is built like a prototypical franchise QB. Panthers might be set at QB for 10 or more years. Bottom line: Young's candle may burn twice as bright and last half as long.
  11. JR was an imperfect being (as we all are) but AFAIK he left this world a better place than he found it. That is high praise and a goal each of us should try to achieve during our fleetingly short lives.
  12. Yeah, liking what I'm seeing here... Carolina Panthers Buffalo Panthers San Francisco Panthers Chicago Panthers The Panthers chances of making the playoffs this year are better than ever!
  13. Sad, but unfortunately true. MJ really could have made a difference if he actually cared. Look at Tepper, made some serious missteps over the last 5 years, but he seems to be making an effort to turn things around. Can't ask much more of a team owner than that. Hopefully, MJ can find a new owner for the Hornets that will finally give a damn.
  14. Woosh! Right over your head (again). The Thread's Title: MJ in talks to sell majority stake of the Hornets. Stating the Obvious: Yeah, it takes more than just having money to win, but without it, owners can't compete. Question: Why would any fan of the Hornets want cash strapped owners (poorer than MJ)?
  15. What have the Hornets actually accomplished? Good cash liquidity is an essential element of building a competitive NBA team. It can't be done on a shoestring. If you don't have good cash liquidity, you have no realistic chance. Want to kill whatever enthusiasm is left for the Hornets in Charlotte? Bring in an ownership group less financially capable than MJ.
  16. Damn. The very least MJ could do at this point is to sell the team to a group that will take the Hornets to the next level. Cash strapped owners would likely provide a poor product, diminish fan engagement and eventually fall prey to some billionaire looking for an NBA team to relocate. Bobcats/Hornets can't seem to catch a break.
  17. Hopefully MJ won't sell the Hornets to some cash strapped owners. Shades of George Shinn selling to a group (with Atlanta connections) that ended up moving the team to New Orleans. Can't believe I'm saying this, but David Tepper has the cash to turn the Hornets into a decent team.
  18. DJ sounds like someone who just got out of a dysfunctional relationship and is still trying to process what happened to him. Considering the QBs he had to work with I can hardly blame him. Good luck DJ, I hope you find your happy place.
  19. Meh, as much as I will always appreciate D'onta's season w/the Panthers, this news is bearable.
