  1. And at the risk of belaboring the point... Dave Tepper (after announcing Hurney's firing): Marty Hurney's a very good evaluator and has a lot of good aspects to him. Me and Matt both learned from Marty a lot. https://www.panthers.com/news/david-tepper-sometimes-students-have-to-graduate Are we doomed as a franchise?
  2. Rhule somehow manages to make Hurney look competent. Keep in mind that Hurney's ratio for winning seasons vs seasons was 1:5.
  3. True. However, some coaches personalities are better suited for college ball. This article suggests that Harbaugh may prefer coaching at the college level because it allows him to have more control over his players. https://www.businessinsider.com/why-49ers-got-rid-of-jim-harbaugh-2014-12#:~:text=Harbaugh won 44 regular-season,four years with the 49ers.&text=The overwhelming consensus is that, couldn't work there anymore.
  4. The buck stops with David Tepper. However, until Dave makes a public statement in support of Matt Rhule, all options remain on the table. I'd like to believe Tepper is waiting for what he considers the best time to take appropriate action.
  5. While true, Jim has a reputation for not playing well with others. If rumors that Matt Rhule is clashing with the Panthers southern culture are true, imagine the pushback that Jim Harbaugh would generate within the organization.
  6. Here are the records of the under .500 coaches beyond their second season: Butch Davis 16-16 4 Seasons (24-35) Nick Saban 15-17 2 seasons (returned to college) Doug Marrone 15-17 7 seasons (38-60) Kliff Kingsbury 13-18-1 3 seasons (23-23-1) Steve Spurrier 12-20 2 seasons (returned to college) Greg Schiano 11-21 2 seasons (returned to college) Matt Rhule 10-21 2 seasons (?) Bobby Petrino 3-10 less than 1 season This suggests the odds are stacked against Matt Rhule being a success in the NFL.
  7. This pretty much covers it. Matt Rhule is only guilty of being inept at his job. No need to hate the guy. Unfortunately, Matt's job has a massive impact on the Panthers organization. He is the living embodiment of the Peter Principle, promoted above his level of competence. The fact that Matt continues to be employed by the Panthers despite his incompetence isn't his fault.
  8. I shudder at the thought of Matt Rhule being given a third year. This organization could be handicapped for years thanks to Matt's ineptitude.
  9. I'm convinced Robby must be the paid mouthpiece of Matt Rhule. There is no other way to justify his salary.
  10. Imagine how low the Panthers have sunk as a franchise when Robby Anderson thinks it's his place to lecture the fans. Robbie isn't worthy of holding Steve Smith's jock strap.
  11. It's been five years since the Panthers had a winning season. I guarantee the boo birds will fly away once the Panthers win more than they lose.
  12. Rhule: It's working you just can't see it! 1000 percent!
  13. Getting rid of Rhule is the first step in fixing those two factors and getting a real playoff team.
  14. Yeah, pride may be it. Panthers have never had a four year losing streak until David Tepper. Panthers have never had a coach with a worse record after two seasons than Matt Rhule. Panthers have never retained a coach after a season with 5 wins or less until Matt Rhule. Panthers performance under Dave Tepper these last four years has been worse than mediocre. Hopefully, Dave comes to terms with Matt Rhule's substandard performance and does the right thing.
  15. I love meatballs just as much as the next guy, but hiring a flimflam man as an NFL HC is where I drawn the line.
  16. Well, unless I missed something, it appears that everyone who started today employed as an NFL HC is still employed.
  17. Chances of a happy ending for Panthers fans seem to be dwindling. Tepper may turn out to be the Grinch who stole Christmas. Starting to make a list of all the things I'll be able to do in 2022 with my free time on Sundays.
  18. Would pie, unfortunately I'm out at the moment. Any chance the Carolina Huddle kitchen staff could whip up some more pies today? A Christmas miracle perhaps?
